Ranchi: Deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri on Monday held weekly janta darbar (public meeting), where around 101 citizens from rural and urban parts of the district turned up with complaints, ranging from pensions, land encroachment, land mutation delays, among others. Bhajantri offered on-spot resolution to the people, while in case requiring proper probe, officials were directed to redress on priority. A teacher, Naresh Rajak, has been struggling to obtain a slip to get his land record corrected for the past seven years at the Namkum zonal office. "My issue was finally resolved today," he said. In cases involving land disputes, the DC verified the online status of applications and instructed zonal officers over phone to take action. One Shukar Palak Sangh had during May 19 janta darbar submitted a request to the district administration to curb hotel waste, which affected his business. The deputy commissioner had asked for a detailed list, which was submitted on Monday. Acting upon it, he instructed officials from the Ranchi Municipal Corporation to initiate appropriate action without delay. Robotics camp sparks interest in technology Hubballi: Skill Centre in Hubballi launched a robotics summer camp to promote practical learning among children. So far, around 100 students across three batches received basic training in robotics. The initiative aims to train 300 children. Hubballi's multi-skill development centre, operated by the skill development entrepreneurship and livelihood department, hosted Robotics Summer Camp for high school students. The centre, known for its comprehensive skill-based courses aims to empower children by offering a free robotics camp. Expert trainers guide participants through topics such as Internet of Things architecture and voice-controlled robots in the 25-day camp. Maruthi Bhajantri, principal of the centre said, "We have many skill-based courses running in the centre. For the past three years, we organised a summer camp for children at no cost. Already, around 100 children have attended the camp," he added. Robots are used in many sectors such as medical, farming, and welding industries. "The camp is organised to educate the children regarding robots and their functioning. Along with this, spoken English training is also conducted. In the future, AI training will also be started. The camp received a good response," he said. Bhajantri also mentioned that the centre is conducting robotics summer camp exclusively for students of 8th, 9th, and 10th standard. The programme offers hands-on learning with a focus on growing practical skills, enhancing thinking capability, and building personal development. Students are trained in basic electronics and electrical concepts, mobile robotics projects such as voice-controlled robots, line-following robots, obstacle-avoidance robots, Internet of Things applications like smart notice boards, smart irrigation systems, and 3D printing, designing, and fabricating 3D models. Camp emphasises practical exposure and skill development, preparing students to innovate and think creatively. Students gain valuable hands-on experience and are introduced to emerging technologies. Shreyashri, a 10th class student, said, "I really enjoyed learning about robotics and IoT through practical projects. This camp boosted my technical skills and made me think creatively." Pavan, a class nine student, said, "The camp helped me understand electronics, robotics, and 3D printing in a fun and practical way. I feel more confident and excited about future technologies."
