The deputy commissioner had asked for a detailed list, which was submitted on Monday. Acting upon it, he instructed officials from the Ranchi Municipal Corporation to initiate appropriate action without delay.
In another case, a woman requested for a ration card to avail benefits under the Ayushman Yojana for an urgent operation of her husband, who had suffered a heart attack recently.

Ranchi: Deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri on Monday held weekly janta darbar (public meeting), where around 101 citizens from rural and urban parts of the district turned up with complaints, ranging from pensions, land encroachment, land mutation delays, among others.
Bhajantri offered on-spot resolution to the people, while in case requiring proper probe, officials were directed to redress on priority.

Site inspection conducted for Morarji Desai School
Mandya: To facilitate the construction of a new Morarji Desai Model Residential School, Mandya MLA P Ravikumar and deputy commissioner Kumara visited B Hosuru Colony in Keragodu hobli, Mandya taluk, on Tuesday, for a site inspection. During the visit, they directed officials to initiate the process of reserving 2 acres and 13 guntas of vacant government land in B Hosuru village of Keragodu-1 hobli for the school project. The officials were also asked to submit a formal proposal regarding the same. It was brought to the DC's notice that part of the land in B Hosuru village has already been allotted for a maternity and child hospital. Additionally, 20 guntas have been earmarked for a road, as recorded in the RTC (Record of Rights) and official maps. Officials were told to verify land records, check the acquisition status, and submit a detailed proposal to the government through the DC.

Land acquisition begins for Rs 22,864cr Shillong-Silchar high-speed corridor
Shillong: Land acquisition process for the construction of the Shillong-Silchar Greenfield high-speed four-lane corridor has officially begun, with the route passing through Ri-Bhoi district in Meghalaya. District deputy commissioner Abhilash Baranwal has urged residents not to undertake any new construction or development activities within the designated area for the proposed highway. "It is hereby clearly stated that any unauthorised structures — whether temporary or permanent — erected within the proposed alignment after the issuance of this notice will not be considered eligible for compensation during land acquisition or project implementation," a notification issued by the DC stated. The cabinet committee on economic affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had earlier approved the development, maintenance, and management of a 166.80 km Greenfield Access Controlled section of NH-06 from Mawlyngkhung (near Shillong) in Meghalaya to Panchgram (near Silchar) in Assam. The project will be executed under the hybrid annuity mode at a total capital cost of Rs 22,864 crore. Farmers' protest continues over unresolved C&D land issues
Madikeri: The govt has failed to resolve the issue of Section-4 and C and D land, which has disturbed the peace of farmers, the Farmers' Agitation Committee said, announcing Somwarpet bandh on Aug 11. At a meeting organised by the Farmers' Agitation Committee at the Vokkaligara Community Hall, president KB Suresh explained the C and D land issue, the struggle conducted so far on Section-4 issues, and the legal proceedings. The govt is secretly handing over agricultural land to the forest department and is working to mislead the people, he alleged. The committee has been conducting agitation related to C and D land, Section 4, Section-5 of the forest department, and the govt's attention has been drawn to the problems. He said that the protest was continued through the law, but to no avail. So far, a silent protest was held peacefully. Appeals were submitted to the officials concerned, chief minister and ministers, and the seriousness of the problem was explained. However, no positive response was received, he contended. On Aug 11, a protest will be held in front of the DC office at Madikeri too. The protest will continue until the govt takes action regarding C and D land, Section-4 and Section-5, which is a question of the extinction and survival of farmers. He said that everyone in all the villages should join hands in this regard and prepare for the next fight.
