"A lot of things must be looked at to bring in provisions for stricter action against manufacturers and retailers of adulterated biodiesel. These include what are existing provisions to punish those who indulge in biofuel adulteration. The question of licence cancellation or having a jail term for the guilty will come only after examining the current situation," he added. Earlier, rural development and agriculture minister, Kirori Lal Meena, instructed the Biofuel Authority to amend the Rajasthan Biofuel Rules 2019 to include provisions for punitive action against manufacturers and retailers of adulterated biodiesel (B-100) in the state. The minister also directed the officials to formulate effective rules at a competent level. Meena, in the recent past, conducted a series of raids across the state against the manufacturing of fake fertilisers, seeds, pesticides, and biodiesel. He raided a biodiesel factory in Sirohi recently, where a huge stock of fake biodiesel was found.
