Channel Nine 'overthrown' by MAFS cast as they defy all rules: 'Mutiny'
This year's cast of Married At First Sight appears to be bringing the drama both on and off-screen. While cast members often go rogue towards the end of the season, Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that an unprecedented number of participants have teamed up to openly defy all rules and restrictions in their contracts. An inside source tells us that the show's production company EndemolShine Australia and Channel Nine are 'desperately' attempting to silence the cast after they united to rebel against them. Not only have the brides and grooms been spoiling their storylines on the show, but they've also launched second Instagram accounts to call out their 'edit'. RELATED: MAFS' Jamie calls out co-stars for 'spoiling' the show: 'Keep it in your pants' MAFS star exposes surprising contract clauses: '7 rules of the game' Everything we know about the first MAFS 2025 cheating scandal: 'Blindsided' In the last week, Morena Farina has debunked every scene of hers on social media by revealing what was edited out and manipulated. Jacqui Burfoot has also shared lengthy posts speaking out against production and defending her character, and Adrian Araouzou is openly mocking his storylines through his twin brother's TikTok account. Meanwhile, Eliot Donnelly and Jake Luik have found themselves in hot water for doing unauthorised interviews, and Tim Gromie is simply refusing to respond to the network in any capacity. The controversial groom has reportedly ignored all phone calls and even went as far as failing to show up to the casts' press days and scheduled promotional photoshoots. According to our insider, the 2025 cast members began rebelling halfway through filming after realising 'they're the ones with the power' because there's no show without them. 'EndemolShine introduced an 8pm curfew in early September and many of them started chatting amongst themselves and realised they dictate the rules – not producers,' the source shares. 'They were already individually starting to tire of all the rules and being treated like children, then one weekend there was an incident that led to them pretty much starting a mutiny. 'Since then, things have just gone to the next level and now they've realised they hold all the cards and if they want to speak out, they will. There's a real sense amongst so many of them that they owe the network nothing and won't allow their reputations to be determined by what they believe are inaccurate representations.' Yahoo Lifestyle also understands that publicists at Nine and bosses at EndemolShine are 'desperately attempting' to bring back some order, but it's almost like they've 'been overpowered' for the first time in the show's history. In previous seasons, Nine would restrict a participant's media opportunities and press interviews to 'get them back in line,' but that tactic is no longer effective. 'It appears the cast members have realised that once the season ends, they're essentially disposable to the network and there are no golden tickets or future TV work and opportunities awaiting them like it's often hinted at,' the source adds. Adrian Araouzou has seemingly confirmed he's no longer with his bride Awhina Rutene after he was spotted 'holding hands' with a mystery woman in Sydney's CBD last month. It's also been revealed that he was involved in a 'cheating scandal' with Sierah Swepstone during filming which ended her relationship with her partner Billy Belcher. Meanwhile, Morena Farina recently confirmed things don't work out with Tony Mojanovski following a bombshell confession that was edited out of the first commitment ceremony. MAFS' Lucinda Light reveals sweet act to support Katie Johnson: 'Queen'
Married At First Sight viewers have rallied around Katie Johnson following her disastrous wedding to Tim Gromie, including one of the show's most memorable participants. Lucinda Light, who was a fan favourite on last year's season, encouraged fans to support the 2025 bride after Tim repeatedly turned down her advances and told producers that he had 'no attraction' to her. Taking to social media on Wednesday evening, Lucinda described Katie as 'divine' and 'radiant' and said she understood how she felt after having a similar experience on the show. She also told her followers that she's invited Katie to appear as a guest at her upcoming live show in Brisbane. 'Brisbane friends, if you're coming to my show this Saturday night, you're in for a special treat - Katie will be there, along with other MAFS friends,' she wrote. 'Let's come together as a community and wrap this exquisite human in love and support. I want her to truly feel us standing behind her in solidarity. 'This experiment demands immense courage and vulnerability, and last night, my heart shattered for her. She deserves so much more! What a queen!' 'I'm so glad she has you to guide her through,' one person wrote, while another added, 'Wonderful that you two have connected'. 'Last night I so wished you were on this series to support Katie, it was so hard to watch, but there are big and wonderful things waiting for her, she did not deserve what she got!' someone else shared. Fans noticed after the 2025 cast was announced that Tim's cast photo looked remarkably different to his co-stars', suggesting that he chose not to participate in the official press photo day and has distanced himself from the series. An insider tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Tim is 'refusing to do interviews' about his time on MAFS and wants 'nothing to do with the show'.
