UE fails to reach MVC tournament in 12-run loss to close season
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The University of Evansville Purple Aces gave up 23 runs in what turned out to be their final game of the season. The Purple Aces were outscored 12-0 in the final three innings, falling to the Bradley Braves 23-11 in eight innings. UE closed the season going 3-8 in May, finishing with a 17-37 overall record and a 10-17 record in conference. Bradley men's basketball adds a left-handed guard from the high school ranks
PEORIA — The Bradley Braves men's basketball team added a freshman guard to the mix Wednesday for the 2025-26 season. Jackson Seastrunk, a 6-foot-4, left-handed combo guard, played in the Houston area at Xavier Academy, alongside Bradley point guard signee Montana Wheeler. Seastrunk announced on Wednesday he committed to Bradley after visiting the school. Advertisement He is expected to formally sign as early as Thursday, and the Braves will likely redshirt him as a freshman given their roster. Bradley is also seeking a developmental player at the center position. Seastrunk posted a 3.5 GPA academically, and was a solid scoring piece that complemented Wheeler. He was named to the Texas High School Association All-State Super-Elite team. He was also a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region team selection. Advertisement Xavier went 18-3 in the 2024-25 season and 9-0 in the TAPPS 3A District 5. Xavier was ranked No. 11 in the state by MaxPreps. Bradley now has 14 players rostered for the 2025-26 season, including walk-on Gus Rugaard. Bradley Braves defeat George Mason; host NIT quarterfinals
FAIRFAX, Va. (WMBD) — The Bradley Braves defeated the George Mason Patriots 75-67 in the National Invitational Tournament on Saturday. The Braves (28-8) came into the NIT as the No. 3 seed and were led by Christian Davis and Corey Thomas, who combined for over half of the team's 75 points, scoring 21 points each. Davis would also record four rebounds and two assists, while Thomas ended up pulling down 11 rebounds to go with his 21 points. The Patriots (27-9) came into the tournament as the No. 2 seed and were led in scoring by K.D. Johnson, who scored 16 points. Bradley's next game will be in the NIT Quarterfinal against the Chattanooga Mocs, who just came off a victory over the No. 1 seed, Dayton Flyers.
