7 interior design aesthetics inspired by your favourite shows to add to your home: Bridgerton to House of the Dragon
We all binge-watch our favourite shows, and after finally catching up with all the seasons and episodes, we still linger, daydreaming about the characters, the stories, and especially the spaces where the stories unfold. The sets, particularly, are not just the background but set the mood of the scene, making them as vital as the main characters. If you can't help but keep binging, why not take a page from their design playbook? Maybe you don't have to do a 360 degree makeover, but even some small corner, minor tweaks here and there, wallpaper to armchair. They are also great conversation starters, perfect for both idle small talk and brainstorming theories about the show. Point being, these story-centric decor additions give your space a pop-culture personality. Speaking about the sets of the different shows, she said, 'You'll notice a quiet revolution happening, not just in plot twists or character arcs, but in the rooms themselves. From the brocade-drenched courtyards of Heeramandi to the sterile perfection of Succession's penthouses, interior design has become a mirror to our deepest cultural cravings. As a designer, I often say: a space doesn't just hold a story—it tells it.' Here are some of Tanu Gupta's recommendations for design/decor based on the sets of the shows: 1. Bridgerton Nicola Coughlan in a still from Bridgerton Season 3. The sets include soft pastel colours with vintage brass. The aesthetic features softness in the maximalism. The recent season of Bridgerton includes an even dreamier palette, including powdered lavenders, lemon sorbets, and frothy pinks. Pastel maximalism is the prominent aesthetic in Bridgerton. Pair toile wallpaper with aged brass. Mix old-world mirrors with modern florals. 2. Made in Heaven Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur in a still from Made In Heaven season 1. The show includes a lot of haveli weddings with neon lighting, jharokhas next to modernist art, and bridal lounges. The design takeaways are terrazzo floors with temple bells or ikat cushions on Brutalist sofas. 3. Heeramandi Manisha Koirala in a still from Heeramandi. The aesthetics are moody and vintage. Heeramandi's set design is a grand spectacle of colour therapy: emerald velvets, crimson brocades, brass urli lighting casting shadows that feel almost spiritual. The main design takeaways are vintage. Layered textures, antique finishes, and heritage craftsmanship are making a strong comeback. Includes rich textures and materials like velvets, brocades and heritage-inspired designs. 4. House of the Dragon The interiors are darker in the House of the Dragon. The interiors of the set are darker. The palettes of colour are more shadowy. Distressed textures fit in this aesthetic. Include raw natural material like stone, wrought iron, or wood. 5. Succession Logan Roy's penthouses and yachts are powerfully quiet: creamy travertine, matte black, and enough space between objects to suggest detachment. Ultra-minimalism is the style of this show's set. 6. The Bear Brutalist materials, concrete, metal, and glass, can still hold warmth when softened with honest lighting Add human touches: handwritten notes, small plants, or personal mementoes. 7. Loot Loot's aesthetics exude whimsical maximalism. From jewel-toned accent chairs to oversized mushroom lamps, the interiors are playful, theatrical, and entirely self-aware.

Banita Sandhu supports Deepika Padukone, says she was ‘blacklisted' by a film industry for speaking up against 18-hour work shift: ‘I stood up for myself'
Actor Deepika Padukone and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga's recent Spirit controversy has stirred a discussion in the film industry. With several celebs speaking up in support or against the actor's 8-hour work shift demand, October actor Banita Sandhu is the latest one to weigh in on the matter. In an interview with SCREEN, the actor recalled she stood against the producers as they made her work 16-18 hour shifts for a film, after which she might have been 'blacklisted' from the industry. She also revealed that on the contrary, there are many unions to support actors and crew in Hollywood. Banita, who has worked in a bunch Hollywood projects (Eternal Beauty (2019), Bridgerton Season 3) earlier, said that they have strict work hours in Hollywood. 'It's so important. One thing that we have in the West is really strong unions. They really protect actors and crew. I have always been a firm believer of 12-hour turnovers for everybody on sets. We are not at war, we are making movies. I don't think anyone's mental health should be sacrificed for that. At the end of the day, it's a job and everyone deserves an adequate amount of rest and sleep. It's basic human rights,' she shared. Although the situation in Bollywood is getting better now, the actor, without naming the industry recalled how she was exploited with the long working hours. 'With Hindi cinema, it is getting better now. But early in my career, when I really didn't understand how industries work, I just assumed this was the way to work. I did 16-18 hours a day shifts, where producers aligned my schedule, I would shoot the whole day and then fly at night. I didn't sleep for 24 hours straight. I stood up for myself and the crew. I told the producers that this is not okay. Maybe, I am blacklisted from that industry now, but I don't care. I just believe in standing up for what's right,' she said. ALSO READ | Genelia Deshmukh reveals she works 10-hour shifts amid Deepika Padukone's Spirit controversy, says 12-hour shifts are 'fair' When asked about being offered opportunties in Hindi cinema, after receiving critical acclamation in October (2018), opposite Varun Dhawan. 'During that time of my life, I wasn't fully living in India. I came to shoots and I was also shooting a lot of western stuff, I was doing my college in London as well. I wasn't as present as I could have been. There's a perception that I went and came back, but for me, I never went away, I was always working, just in a different country,' she said. Banita added, 'After October released, I graduated and I shot for atleast 3 projects in a year – in Hollywood and South. I got work from all different parts of the world, maybe not much from Bollywood. I would have been filthy rich if I moved to India as that time. I remember many producers telling me we wanted you after October in so and so film, but we didn't know where to find you. It works that way in Bollywood, if you're out of sight, then out of mind.' Banita Sandhu is often a target of trolling for her personal life. She was also rumored to be dating Punjabi singer AP Dhillon. 'I literally don't care. I have honestly been so blessed that people are actually really nice to me. Maybe one in a hundred, someone says something nasty. I have never been a very public person. I think that work speaks for itself. I have recently started being a bit more pro-active. Even me moving to India is a part of me trying. I grew up in the UK, I also wanted to live with my family. There's paparazzi everywhere now, your life is more exposed. It has taken me a really long time to accept that I have a public life,' she expressed. Talking about her aspirations in the Bollywood industry, the actor said, 'I would love to do a commercial movie. It's something that I grew up watching. It would be great if I have one of my own songs. I have never really done a dance sequence, never got the opportunity. People don't know but I used to dance a lot while growing up, I would love to do that.' Banita Sandhu will next be seen in Zee5's murder mystery Detective Sherdil. It also stars Diljit Dosanjh, Boman Irani, Diana Penty, and Sumeet Vyas.

If you get your tea from Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, you're in the right place for the unmasking of what to anticipate for Bridgerton Season 4 on Netflix. The Cinderella-esque romance plot involving forbidden love will be at the center of this high-society social season in Mayfair. Do grab your parasol — let us promenade and discuss. At the end of Bridgerton Season 3, Penelope Featherington came clean about being Lady Whistledown, the ton's detailer of gossip and builder-destroyer of relationships extraordinaire. Penelope's truth came out in the middle of a ball attended by Queen Charlotte, who had been pursuing Lady Whistledown's identity throughout the show's seasons. This cleared up a few conundrums: Penelope and her husband, Colin, no longer had to keep such a deep secret. Cressida, who discovered Penelope's true identity, could no longer blackmail Penelope in exchange for money. Lady Featherington, who was accused of fraud by a solicitor, now believes the Featheringtons' money came from Lady Whistledown's earnings Penelope also promised Queen Charlotte that she would use this writing power more responsibly and issued her first paper under her real name: Penelope Bridgerton, "previous wallflower, current columnist, and observer." Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) married John Stirling (Victor Alli) rather quickly at a small wedding at the Bridgerton family home. The Season 3 finale revealed a plot twist in Francesca's love story when John introduces her to his cousin, Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza). Sparks of chemistry fly for Francesca upon meeting Michaela, marking the first time a queer romance will play out in the Bridgerton series. Francesca and John are headed to Scotland, where the Stirling home is located. They are joined by Michaela and Eloise Bridgerton, Francesca's sister. What we do know, dear readers, is that Bridgerton Season 4 will be Netflix's event of the season in 2026, consisting of eight episodes. We regret to inform you that we don't yet know the exact date. The streaming service confirmed production started in September 2024, while filming was scheduled to wrap in April 2025. Season 4 is inspired by the third book in the Bridgerton series, An Offer From a Gentleman, by Julia Quinn. It will focus on the long-awaited love story of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), the second eldest of the Bridgerton siblings, who is portrayed as a 'bohemian,' not bound by societal expectations when it comes to love. While his older and younger brothers are happily married, Benedict is dragging his feet to settle down. In the first episode of the new season, he meets his love interest, a mysterious 'lady in silver,' at his mother's famed masquerade ball. Her name is Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), and she is revealed to be a maid with a hidden past. "The main thing we can expect [this season] is a really nice mix of fairy tale and reality," Thompson said. "We've got this fairy tale love story, yes, but it's also got the Bridgerton element of trying to tether [that story] to some sort of reality as well.' Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton and Ha as Sophie Baek will be the diamonds of this season. In the books, Benedict's love interest is named Sophie Beckett. Netflix confirmed the character's name was changed to Baek in order to reflect the actress's Korean heritage. "To make Sophie's name fit someone who looks like me is really empowering," Ha said. "It's a really nice way for me to feel like the role is fit for me, rather than me having to fit a certain mold." The following fan favorites will also reprise their roles for Season 4: 'Kanthony': Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma and Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton (Benedict's older brother) 'Polin': Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington (aka Lady Whistledown) and Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton (Benedict's younger brother) Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton (Penelope's bestie) Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton (Benedict's mom) Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury (Lady Violet Bridgerton's bestie) Daniel Francis as Lord Marcus Anderson (Lady Violet's potential love interest and Lady Danbury's brother) Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte (deemer of debutante diamonds) Julie Andrews as Lady Whistledown (the show's narrator) Netflix offers a complete list of who else is set to return in Season 4. Fans can expect some delicious drama from three new characters associated with Sophie's backstory, according to Netflix: Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung): Sophie's stepmother is a twice-widowed noblewoman who is debuting her two other daughters on the marriage mart. She's determined to get at least one of them married off to a nobleman in high society. Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao): One of Sophie's stepsisters, who is Araminta's eldest daughter. Like her mother, she is determined to get what she wants and has set her sights on Benedict this social season. Posy Li (Isabella Wei): Sophie's other stepsister who is also making her debut into society — but Lady Araminta rarely puts the spotlight on her. A newly constructed lot of Shepperton Studios outside of London features replicas of Georgian and Regency architecture, including homes, buildings and bustling Mayfair Street. Yes! Netflix announced this month that Bridgerton will return for Seasons 5 and 6. The first three seasons of Bridgerton are currently streaming on Netflix, should you want to re-binge or watch them for the first time! You can also watch the love story of a young Queen Charlotte and King George of England in the limited Netflix series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. If period drama shows are your cup of tea, Season 3 of The Gilded Age also drops on HBO Max on June 22, 2025, to help tide you over until 2026.
