Stranger Things Trailer, Emmy Snubs, And More TV And Movie News

Welcome to Screen Time! I'm Nora, and if there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I love watching TV and movies. I also absolutely love being absorbed in fandoms. This week in Screen Time, all I can think about is The Summer I Turned Pretty returning, and how I am ready to watch the downfall of Jeremiah Fisher. I also share what's all over my FYP — like Emmy nominations (and snubs) and the Stranger Things trailer — and what we've got going on over on BuzzFeed Celeb's YouTube channel, plus so much more. Listen, I even find time to explain which Grey's Anatomy death I cheered for. Thanks for joining me! The Summer I Turned Pretty — watch for: The love triangle. Of course. Streaming on Prime Video, new episodes every Wednesday It wouldn't be summer without The Summer I Turned Pretty. Based on Jenny Han's third book in the trilogy, the final season begins with Belly (Lola Tung) in a long-term relationship with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). As they grow up and their lives start to get more complicated, Belly must decide if Jeremiah really is "the one," or if Conrad (Christopher Briney) still has her heart. I'm personally really going to miss this cast once the season ends. Also, as someone who grew up on Twilight and The Vampire Diaries AND One Tree Hill, love triangles are just essential to teen TV, and this one feels like a return to those days. So, just to be clear, I cannot wait for another summer where I defend Conrad Fisher with my life. I Know What You Did Last Summer — watch for: Madelyn Cline's scream queen era. In theaters now Yes, Superman, Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Jurassic World Rebirth are the big summer movies right now, but I Know What You Did Last Summer deserves to be included in that conversation. Like Scream (2022), I Know What You Did Last Summer is a legacy sequel that follows a new group of friends who start receiving mysterious notes a year after covering up a fatal car accident. Directed and written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who is behind Sweet/Vicious, Someone Great, and Do Revenge, this movie brings all the fun from the original, even paying homage to it in several ways, while adding its own flair. While it's far from perfect, the new cast is so entrancing on screen together, especially Madelyn Cline and Sarah Pidgeon, who prove why they're two of the most in-demand young actors right now. Too Much — watch for: Meg Stalter's comedic timing Streaming on Netflix Created by Lena Dunham, Too Much follows Jessica (Megan Stalter), a 30-something New York workaholic reeling from a major breakup. Unable to escape her past relationship, she takes a job in London and swears off love — that is, until she meets Felix (Will Sharpe), who is a series of red flags, but their connection is impossible to ignore. If you love Meg from Hacks, it's worth watching this one to see her front and center in this romantic comedy. Plus, her chemistry with Will is excellent. What really makes this worth watching is Dunham's writing, as it feels like a welcome return to her witty banter from Girls, just set in the present-day dating world. Oh, also, the guest stars are awesome. Like, Andrew Scott, hello, sir! These are some of my favorite things from my FYP, feed, and more: Also, it has been, like, 1,000 years since a new season of Stranger Things dropped, but the final season does in fact exist, as evidenced by the teaser trailer that dropped this week: This week, over on BuzzFeed Celeb, The Summer I Turned Pretty cast — Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, Jackie Chung, and Tom Everett Scott — swung by to compete in a friendly game of Cast Wars, aka where we see how well they actually know each other. From Lola getting extremely competitive to the cast freaking out about Jackie appearing on Grey's Anatomy way back when, it was so fun. Plus, they guess Lola's favorite Taylor Swift eras, Chris's favorite rom-com, if Sean is Team Edward or Team Jacob, and much more: Also, here's a little peek at my view behind the scenes. (If you watch the video, you can even catch a glimpse of me running in and out, LOL): Where I answer YOUR questions about TV, movies, fandom, and more: Question: Which Grey's Anatomy death is the LEAST sad for you? Picking the Grey's Anatomy death that wrecked me the most is easy: Lexie Grey. But, this makes it a little more interesting because I had to think about characters I've not liked. And, let's be real, this would be easy to answer if Grey's had ever killed off Owen Hunt. And since that is not seemingly happening any time soon, my answer for this one is Reed. She died during the hospital shooting in part one of the Season 6 finale (which was actually the first episode I ever watched live), and I was honestly thankful. Again, I think I hated her because she had a one-night stand with Mark, and if it wasn't clear before, I would die for Lexie Grey. Well, that's all I've got for this week's edition of Screen Time. Come back every week to get more TV and movie recommendations, find out which celebs we're working with, and so much more! TV And Movie Recs: Superman, KPop Demon Hunters

Do you love all things TV and movies? Subscribe to the Screen Time newsletter to get your weekly dose of what to watch next and what everyone is flailing over from someone who watches everything! Welcome to Screen Time! I'm Nora, and if there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I love watching TV and movies. I also absolutely love being absorbed in fandoms. This week, I'm pumped for all things Superman as we usher in the David Corenswet era of this iconic hero. I also share what's all over my FYP — like Simone Ashley being cast in a buzzy new sequel — and what we've got going on over on BuzzFeed Celeb's YouTube channel, plus more. Thanks for joining me! Superman — watch for: David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan's electric chemistry. HELP. In theaters now This week belongs to Superman. Directed and written by James Gunn, the iconic DC comics hero gets a refreshing reboot as David Corenswet wears the iconic emblem and red cape. Like other Superman movies, the film follows Clark/Superman as he tries to come to terms with his Kryptonian heritage while also living his seemingly normal life in Metropolis. Not only was David born to play Clark and Superman, he has the ability to make Clark dorky like the comics, while also being a commanding presence as Superman, but Rachel Brosnahan is the best Lois Lane since Margot Kidder. From the time she was cast, I knew Rachel had the charisma to pull off Lois because of her Mrs. Maisel days, and she does not disappoint here. Plus, David and Rachel's chemistry, dear LORD. The hottest Superman and Lois, dare I say. Also, just the whole movie FEELS like a comic book. James Gunn knows what he's doing, and he does it so well. KPop Demon Hunters — watch for: The catchiest music you will listen to all year Streaming on Netflix I have a new current hyperfixation, and its name is KPop Demon Hunters. The movie follows the K-pop girl group Huntr/x, composed of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, and while they are one of the biggest music acts in the world, they are also secretly demon hunters. For generations, hunters have sealed demons from the human world by creating a magic barrier using music. However, when the Saja Boys arrive, a K-pop boy group who are secretly demons, things get much more complicated. I genuinely think KPop Demon Hunters is the best animated movie of the year. It's funny, charming, and so original, which I think is something we need in more movies nowadays. Plus, the music is so damn good that I genuinely think it'll make its way to my Spotify Wrapped. Blindspot — watch for: Filling the hole in your TV procedural-loving heart Streaming on Netflix Blindspot recently started streaming on Netflix in the US, so I am currently rewatching it. The series begins when a mysterious tattooed woman, Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander), is found inside a bag in Times Square by the FBI. She has no memory of her past or identity, but all of the tattoos contain clues to criminal cases that must be solved. If you're looking for a good, old-fashioned TV procedural, this one is one of my personal favorites. The mystery always keeps you guessing, and the characters are so great together. Of course, you know I have to have a favorite character in every show, so in this one it's Patterson, played by the wonderful Ashley Johnson, who notably plays Ellie Williams in The Last of Us video games. I think this show kind of flew under the radar when it was originally airing, so I'm glad it's getting a new life on Netflix. These are some of my favorite things from my FYP, feed, and more: Alright, I don't necessarily think we NEED a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, but this week it was announced who else will be joining Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci in the sequel, and SIMONE ASHLEY. MRS. KATE SHARMA-BRIDGERTON. A QUEEN TO EVERYONE IS JOINING THE CAST. She's reportedly playing Miranda Priestly's new first assistant. I am so happy for her: DUNE: PART THREE, BABY!!!! Sorry, if there's something you need to know about me, it's that I ride for Denis Villeneuve's Dune films so aggressively, so the start of filming for the highly anticipated third movie is like a national holiday in my apartment right now. The upcoming third movie will reportedly follow the plot of Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah and see the return of Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Anya Taylor-Joy, and more. Also, Timothée might've shaved his head for the movie?!!!! Paul 'Muad'Dib' Atreides with a buzz cut?! I am screaming! This week, over on BuzzFeed Celeb, we had David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult take a quiz to see which Superman character they're actually most like in real life. Watch to see who they get, but honestly, stay for David struggling to pronounce current famous singers' names, like SZA. It's so wholesome and makes me love this cast so much because, yes, in typical Lois Lane fashion, Rachel playfully makes fun of David. I love this trio so much: Where I answer YOUR questions about TV, movies, fandom, and more: Question: What are your favorite TV shows of all time? This is honestly one of the hardest questions I am ever asked because it genuinely takes a lot for me to NOT like a TV show. I tend to always find something good in a show I watch, whether it's a character, a ship, or just overall production. But as of right now, I think these are my top five shows of all time: 1. One Tree Hill: This will always be my favorite show of all time. No matter what, even if the rest of this list changes in the future, I know OTH will always be number one. I tend to rewatch it once a year, and I even keep up with the Drama Queens rewatch podcast. 2. WandaVision: Wanda Maximoff is one of my favorite characters of all time, and this show was something I was waiting for as a comic book fan. I consider WandaVision the best thing the MCU has done. From its portrayal of grief and loss to just how extremely cool it was to switch from various TV eras, I loved it all so much. 3. Grey's Anatomy: I still watch this show every single Thursday night. I've been caught up since the Season 6 finale, and at this point, I'm just stuck watching it until it ends. While it hasn't been the same for the last few years, I still love what this show has given me, and it will always be one of my favorites. 4. Wynonna Earp: A pretty niche show for most, but Wynonna Earp not only gave me the LGBTQ+ representation I desperately was searching for, but I have met some of my very best friends through our love of this show and the fandom that came together on Twitter because of it. The cast is like a family to me, Wynonna is the badass I aspire to be, and this show will always hold a very special place in my heart. 5. The Vampire Diaries: This show came out when I was a freshman in high school, and as someone fresh off a crippling Twilight obsession — that I still live with today — this show consumed me. Not only did I spend hours debating Elena and Damon vs. Elena and Stefan with friends (it's Elena and Damon forever, BTW), but I don't know if a show has thrown so many plot twists at me that genuinely made me gasp. I love this one. Well, that's all I've got for this week's edition of Screen Time. Come back every week to get more TV and movie recommendations, find out which celebs we're working with, and so much more! TV And Movie Recs: 28 Years Later, Jurassic World Rebirth

This week, it's a little more movie-focused, as I dive into what movies you should watch this weekend, including a documentary from Mariska Hargitay that made me weep. I also share what's all over my FYP — like the Superman cast being my favorite new cast — and what we've got going on over on BuzzFeed Celeb's YouTube channel, plus more. Thanks for joining me! It's a long weekend here in the US, so here's a super-sized weekend rec list: 28 Years Later — watch for: Jodie Comer being, well, Jodie freakin' Comer In theaters now It only took me one (1) of these before I mentioned Jodie Comer. My friends will honestly be shocked that it took me this long. The third installment in this series, Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later follows Spike (Alfie Williams), who has grown up on an island off the coast of northern England, away from the mainland that has been ravaged by the Rage Virus. With his mom, Isla (Jodie Comer), getting sicker, Spike decides to leave his dad (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) behind and take Isla to the mainland in hopes of finding a mysterious doctor (Ralph Fiennes). If you couldn't tell, you need to see this movie for Jodie. She never misses, in my opinion. Her performance as Isla made me uncontrollably sob more than I'd like to admit, and I just think she brings such raw, human emotion to a character in an extraordinary setting. Also, this is Alfie's very first movie, and he's outstanding. If you're a zombie movie fan, I think this is worth watching, and if you're a Jodie fan, it's a must-watch. Also, it's currently my second favorite 2025 movie behind Sinners. Jurassic World Rebirth — watch for: Jonathan Bailey in his slutty little glasses In theaters now Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World Rebirth reboots the Jurassic Park series once again, this time with Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and more. The film follows Zora Bennett (Johansson), who is recruited to collaborate with paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Bailey) and Duncan Kincaid (Ali) to infiltrate a forbidden island that was once used as a dinosaur research facility. It's a Jurassic Park movie after all, so expect a lot of tense dinosaur moments. However, this movie was kind of lacking for me, and I think Kong: Skull Island did the same plot much better. So, I'm curious what you all think! But, if there's one thing I'm always going to love, it's Jonathan Bailey, so I did enjoy him and his 'slutty little glasses.' And, I just love how much Scarlett loves Jurassic Park, like she used to sleep in a Jurassic Park tent in her bedroom growing up. LIKE, IT'S SO CUTE! So, I want her to be able to make another one of these movies because her love for it is so wholesome. Ironheart — watch for: Dominique Thorne and a WandaVision theory finally coming true Streaming on Disney+ It's no secret that a lot of people are feeling some Marvel fatigue, but I am here to tell you that Ironheart is worth binge-watching. Executive produced by Ryan Coogler, the show follows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who has returned to Chicago with her iron suit and ends up getting involved with Parker Robbins/Hood (Anthony Ramos) and his crew. Dominique is such a breath of fresh air as Riri, and I love seeing her really own this space in the MCU and create such a flawed hero you want to root for. The show really dives into grief and the lengths we go to after losing someone close, and I think it's just a great message on top of some amazing superhero moments. Also, the show FINALLY makes a longstanding WandaVision theory a reality, and as someone who has been screaming about [spoiler] since 2021 with my WandaVision Easter eggs posts, I feel vindicated. I feel alive. I WILL need an Ironheart Season 2. My Mom Jayne — watch for: Mariska Hargitay continuing to be the best of us Streaming on HBO Max I wouldn't consider myself a huge documentary person, but I love old Hollywood, so My Mom Jayne was an immediate watch for me. Directed by Mariska Hargitay, the film explores Jayne Mansfield's rapid rise to fame in the 1950s, her relationships, and her sudden death at just 34 years old. A lot of people might not realize that Mariska is Jayne's daughter, so it's a documentary that allows Mariska to really come to terms with who her mom was outside of Hollywood's 'smartest dumb blonde.' It's just a moving portrait of family and grief, and it even includes Mariska finally revealing that Mickey Hargitay wasn't actually her biological father, a secret she's held onto for 30 years despite it being a much-discussed Hollywood rumor. I sobbed through this movie, especially when Mariska's husband, Peter Hermann, surprises her with Jayne's piano. These are some of my favorite things from my FYP, feed, and more: Project Hail Mary released its first trailer this week, and it's easily one of my most anticipated movies of 2026. I just finished the book a few weeks ago, and I highly encourage reading it before the movie. I am so hyped, as is the rest of my timeline: Based on the book by Andy Weir, Project Hail Mary follows Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), a teacher who is suddenly recruited to become an astronaut in order to help save Earth's dying sun. The story unfolds with us seeing how Ryland ended up in space, as he wakes up with amnesia, unsure of what happened to him and how he got to space. You can watch the trailer below: This week, over on BuzzFeed Celeb, we had the adorable cast of Squid Game Season 3 — Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yu-ri, and Yim Si-wan — play with puppies while answering all of our questions about themselves and the final season of the hit Netflix series. They were so wholesome, the puppies were absolutely chaotic, and it made me love this cast even more. We talked about which scenes they couldn't get through without laughing, what it was like working with T.O.P., the celebs they've been surprised to find out are fans of Squid Game, and so much more. Also, here's a behind-the-scenes photo of my view from filming that day: A place where I answer YOUR questions about TV, movies, fandom, and more: Question: What's your Letterboxd Top Four? I'd be lying if I said I haven't fantasized about Letterboxd asking me my four favorite films on a red carpet and me pretending like I haven't practiced my answer a million times. So, in the interest of getting to know me a little better, here is my Letterboxd Top Four: Well, that's all I've got for this week's edition of Screen Time. Come back every week to get more TV and movie recommendations, find out which celebs we're working with, and so much more! Andrew Garfield Met The Woman Who Playfully "Sexually Objectified" Him Online, And The Moment Is Going Viral

Andrew Garfield came face-to-face with the woman who wrote a playful, sexually charged comment about him years ago. Four years ago, Andrew was brave enough to participate in our hilariously naughty series, Thirst Tweets, where we have celebrities read NSFW tweets that fans have written about them online. The video is a gem because he responded to the lustful comments in a way that only proves why we're such big supporters of him in the first place. But there was one tweet that stopped him in his tracks, and it read, "I want andrew garfield to smash a laptop on my tits." It took him through a roller coaster of emotions, and rightfully so, but watching it all play out was entertainment in itself. BuzzFeed Celeb / Related: You Have Excellent Facial Recognition If You Can Recognize These 12 Celebrities As Kids "I'm not gonna do that," he said. "I draw the Like, this is like pro tip, and also, like, boundaries. Like, if anyone says, 'I wanna smash a laptop on your breasts," just say, 'Get out of my house.'" Well, imagine his surprise when he ran into the author of that graphic tweet at an event he was speaking at. On Thursday, the We Live in Time star participated in a Q&A at the Pilton Palais Cinema during day two of the Glastonbury festival 2025 in England. Related: Courtney Stodden Did A Face Reveal After Dissolving Her Fillers And She Looks Really Different Now The now-viral moment was shared on Reddit, and his response is probably why: "I really did think that... I can't look you in the eye [laughs]," Andrew began saying. "It's so funny. There was a tweet. Can I say it? Am I allowed?" The woman replied, "Yeah." To which Andrew said, "Consent. Informed consent." "I had to read a bunch of tweets about me being kind of like sexually objectified online basically, and one of them, which got me big was, 'I want andrew garfield to smash a laptop on my tits.'" The audience erupted in laughter as he continued to say, "And that is in the room with us tonight [laughs]." "Honestly, one of the more creative sex acts I can imagine. I haven't imagined participating in that. I'm not. I refuse. But happy to meet you, and you're very sick. You're sick [laugh]." This honestly sounds like something out of a movie, and I love how Andrew handled it. You can watch the full interaction here. Has a celebrity ever responded to a comment you've said online? The Bear We Were Liars The Buccaneers What To Watch

This week, I dive into the TV shows I am currently watching, like, can we talk about We Were Liars, please? THAT TWIST!!! I SOBBED!!! I also share what's all over my FYP — like the New York Times dropping the 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century — and what we've got going on over on BuzzFeed Celeb's YouTube channel, plus more. Thanks for joining me! We Were Liars — watch for: one of the best plot twists ever Streaming on Prime Video Based on the bestselling book by E. Lockhart, We Were Liars follows "The Liars," a tight-knit circle of friends who vacation every summer together on a private island in New England. While on the surface the Sinclair family is known for their good looks, generational wealth, and their close bonds, after a life-altering accident, everyone seems to have something to hide. This book (and show) has one of the best plot twists, so if you are unspoiled, try to watch before you get spoiled, and if you've read the book already, I honestly think I loved the show more?! This adaptation works on every level. The Vampire Diaries fans, co-creator Julie Plec is behind this one, and even brings along Candice King, aka Caroline Forbes. Also, this young cast is so stellar. In particular, it was awesome getting to see Joseph Zada (aka young Haymitch in the upcoming Hunger Games movie, Sunrise on the Reaping). So, cue the fan edits already. The Buccaneers — watch for: a show that fills the Bridgerton void with an absolutely stacked cast Streaming on Apple TV+, new episodes every Wednesday It's the show every Bridgerton, Dickinson, and/or Reign fan should be watching. Based on Edith Wharton's unfinished novel, The Buccaneers is set during the Gilded Age and follows a group of ambitious young women from America who travel to London for a debutante season in hopes of securing husbands and titles. I think one of my favorite TV genres might be a period piece that utilizes modern music, manners of speech, and more, because The Buccaneers and Dickinson have both done this, and I've adored them both. Like I said, the cast is one of the main draws: Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Matthew Broome, Aubri Ibrag, Guy Remmers, Mia Threapleton, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, and Christina Hendricks to name a few, and in Season 2, Leighton Meester joins, so enough said. Also, who doesn't love good Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan needle drops?! The Bear — watch for: the cast's always entertaining dynamic Streaming on Hulu and Disney+ The fourth season of this Emmy-winning comedy (or let's be real, drama) just dropped, and while I wasn't a big fan of the third season — I liked aspects but overall it felt super rushed and I didn't love every storyline — I will be finishing binge-watching the new season this weekend regardless. The new season will pick up with Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Syd (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and the rest of the crew continuing to make their restaurant, The Bear, strive for excellence. However, as with previous seasons of The Bear, more challenges, both financial and personal, are around every corner. Honestly, I will be watching for Ayo's performance and to see if there are any exciting guest stars this season. I'm curious if Season 4 regains the spark that Seasons 1 and 2 had, or if The Bear is just running in circles and overstaying its welcome. These are some of my favorite things from my FYP, feed, and more: The New York Times published its list of the 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century. My favorite part of this project is that they asked actors, directors, and more to give their 10 favorite movies of the 21st Century, too, and it's been so cool reading them — Sofia Coppola's list is pretty flawless, but I am also obsessed with Julianne Moore having Superbad on hers — because as a Letterboxd superfan, I love this kind of stuff. You can also make your own ballot. Mine might have some recency bias, but I feel pretty comfortable saying this is my top 10: And I know this isn't technically a movie or TV show yet, but I just finished reading Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and it has already been optioned to be adapted, so I'm putting my love for it here, too. I've read everything she's written, consider The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo my favorite book of all time, and I loved the Daisy Jones & the Six adaptation. A book about space deserved a photo under Grand Central's iconic constellation ceiling. So naturally, when I finished Atmosphere, after I screamed and cried and felt every single emotion, I started fan-casting in my head, and I've proceeded to tell all my friends who have finished that Ashley Johnson would be the perfect Joan. So, please read this book. It's QUEER AND ABOUT WOMEN IN SPACE! And then tell me your fan casts for Joan and Vanessa. This week, over on BuzzFeed Celeb, I fulfilled my Disney Channel kid dream. We had the cast of Phineas and Ferb — Dan Povenmire (creator and Dr. Doofenshmirtz), Ashley Tisdale (Candace), Jeff "Swampy" Marsh (creator and Major Monogram), Alyson Stoner (Isabella), and Vincent Martella (Phineas) — compete in a game of trivia about the show. Like, not only do they sing "Gitchee Gitchee Goo," but Ashley breaks out into "Busted," so I feel like I can die happy now. The whole thing was so fun, and they were adorably hilarious. The show just returned after 10 years for new episodes, and it's just as good as before. A place where I answer YOUR questions about TV, movies, fandom, and more: Question: If you had to pick your top five favorite characters of all time, who would they be and why? Hi! Okay, I have a literal note on my phone where I list some of my favorite TV shows, movies, episodes, books, video games, and fictional characters because whenever I am asked to narrow anything down like this, I draw a blank, and I end up saying the most recent things I have hyperfixated on. So I'll do you one better, directly from my notes app, my current top TEN characters of all time: Well, that's all I've got for this week's edition of Screen Time.
