PGA Tour Makes Luke Clanton Announcement on Monday

This past weekend's Byron Nelson Classic in at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas brought out professional golf's biggest stars, including Scottie Scheffler who shot 31-under to beat second place finisher Erik van Rooyen by eight strokes. Scheffler held off a rally attempt from Jordan Spieth and outstanding performances from several other players to hold onto a lead that he took early on during the event and never looked back from. The first episode of the half-hour show will include rising star Luke Clanton, who recently punched his ticket to the PGA Tour after starring at Florida State University and making the cut at the Cognizant Classic as an amateur this past winter. The show will feature Clanton visiting the PGA Tour Headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Advertisement Clanton will be joined by 13-time PGA Tour winner Jordan Spieth as he prepares for the Truist Championship this weekend at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Clanton is expected to make his first start as a PGA Tour professional at the RBC Canadian Open from June 4-8 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The PGA Tour held its popular Byron Nelson Classic event on Sunday at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas on Sunday, giving the sport's best players a chance to test their skills against each other. Scottie Scheffler jumped out to an early lead during the tournament and did not look back, driving, chipping and putting his way to a remarkable 31 under final score that beat second place finisher Erik van Rooyen's score by eight strokes. Scheffler said he read a lot about Nelson and had the chance to meet him a few times when he was a kid. Known by his full name John Byron Nelson, Jr., Nelson played professionally from 1935 to 1946 and is considered to be one of the best golfers of all-time. Next up on the PGA Tour circuit is the Truist Championship from May 8-11 at the Philadelphia Cricket Club along with the ONEFlight Myrtle Beach Classic at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on the same weekend. The event included a furious comeback from Dallas, Texas native Jordan Spieth as he began playing some of his best golf when it mattered most. "The Dallas native is T2 and has the round of the day at -7 thru 12," the account added. Spieth found himself in 3rd place through 14 holes as the event hurdled toward its inevitable finish. Scottie Scheffler appeared a shoo-in for the championship at -27 through 7 holes with Erik van Rooyen in second place at -19 through 7 holes of play. "Very nice to see, thank you for sharing," one fan wrote. "Hopefully he's better than his dad," another fan added, criticizing Spieth for his less-than-stellar round.
