Discontinued huge Cadbury chocolate bar reduced to £1.25 from £5 at major supermarket

CADBURY lovers were thrilled to spot a long-discontinued chocolate bar for sale at B&M for a reduced price. The chocolate block was spotted by a fan when shopping at the discount retail store. 1 The Cadbury Dairy Milk 110g bar, which comes in a special 'Congratulations' gift sleeve originally scanned for an eye-watering £5. But the mouthwatering treat will only set punters back £1.25 after making a return to retailers. Sweet-toothed revellers flocked to hail the find. "I want one," one shopper said. A second added: "Yummy!" A third revealed: "I got three today. "They've already been eaten." Cadbury has more new products coming next month. It is adding to their Twirl range with a limited-edition Twirl White Dipped bar, which will be available from early June 2025. This new version combines the classic Twirl milk chocolate layers with a smooth coating of white chocolate. We've outdone ourselves with this one' say Cadbury Ireland as they reveal new limited edition bar 'coming soon The iconic chocolate brand shared the news in a post on Facebook earlier this month. "OK but we've really outdone ourselves with this one," it told chocoholics. It described the new flavour as "unreal, indulgent, smooth, swirly, creamy, melty, new, and mouthwatering." However, the confectionery veterans also revealed that this new buy "won't be around forever". So once this exciting new bar hits shelves, Cadbury fans may want to stock up while they can. "Introducing Twirl White Dipped, keep your eyes peeled for when you can get your hands on it," the post read. The launch image showed the famous flaky texture of a Twirl bar en-coated in white chocolate instead classic milk chocolate. Cadbury representatives confirmed the bar is set to hit shelves on June 2. Making a comeback Earlier this month, chocolate fans were buzzing with excitement after spotting a new Cadbury treat that brings back fond memories of a beloved classic. The discovery was shared in the popular Facebook group, Food Finds UK, where shoppers were quick to notice its striking similarity to the nostalgic Cadbury Tasters. The new treat, named Cadbury Dairy Milk Balls, is said to resemble the discontinued Tasters, which first appeared in 1996. These small, round Dairy Milk chocolates were similar to Maltesers but lacked the crunchy centre. Despite their rich, chocolatey taste, Cadbury Tasters were quietly discontinued in the mid-2000s due to low sales. Top discontinued products Here are our top discontinued snacks - including picks from our team... Fabulous Bakin' Boys Cupcakes Consumer reporter Emily Mee says: "It was always a good day when I spotted these in my lunch box at school. Putting a layer of chocolate on top of a vanilla cupcake is a simple idea but a genius one. I would pay good money to try these again..." Ready Salted Chipsticks Head of Consumer Tara Evans says: "Ready Salted Chipsticks. Why did they get rid of this classic flavour? Some people think ready salted is boring - but why mess with a classic? I often feel taunted when I see the salt and vinegar version in shops." Coco Pops Rocks Tooti Frooties Senior consumer reporter James Flanders says: "Tooty Frooties were a chewy blast of childhood joy. Scrapped after 50 years, they were Britain's alternative to Skittles - and in an age obsessed with nostalgia, bringing them back just makes sense. Lots of dupes can be picked up at budget supermarkets but they just don't taste the same." White Maltesers While the milk chocolate version is still going strong, White Chocolate Maltesers were pulled from shelves in 2014. Mars said it was a "difficult decision" at the time, and fans still post comments on its social media pages calling for it to come back. Heinz Toast Toppers Out of all the discontinued products, this is one of the ones we see the most calls for to come back. The creamy cans came in a variety of flavours like chicken and mushroom or cheese and ham. They were binned in 2015 after delighting shoppers for decades. Cadbury Spira Another of the regular calls we see is for the Cadbury Spira to return. The chocolate featured twin bars in each pack which were formed into a spiral shape, with six hollow tubes running through each one.

You've been eating choc Digestives all WRONG – McVitie's boss divides opinion by saying how you should consume snack

MCVITIE'S boss has divided opinion by saying people have always eaten chocolate digestives incorrectly. About 80 million packets are made every year, with all of the chocolate made in Greater Manchester. 5 5 Anthony Coulson, general manager in Stockport, said the teatime staple was originally meant to be eaten with the chocolate-covered side facing down. "It's the world's most incredible debate, whether you have the chocolate on the top or the chocolate on the bottom," explained Mr Coulson, who admitted he was a chocolate-on-top man. The factory opened in 1917, with the chocolate digestive launched eight years later, about a quarter of a century after the plain variety. The name was inspired by the belief that the baking powder in the recipe would help with digestion. And although people might think of the chocolate digestive as being topped with chocolate, the company has said that as the plain biscuits pass through a "chocolate reservoir", the chocolate actually coats the underside of it. Lynn Loftus, who has worked at the factory for 36 years, called the biscuit "timeless", adding that she thought it would be around for many years to come. Craig Leech, who has worked at McVitie's for 21 years, started off in the factory by putting the chocolate on top of the biscuits. "I just come in with a positive attitude. I know the people and the products inside out," said Mr Leech, who is now a planning manager for the refinery. Alix Knagg, who has been working there for six months, said the chocolate digestive was "still a great product 100 years on". Consumers have been quick to respond to the news and one exclaimed: "I've got to 55 years of age without ever thinking about whether the chocolate should be on top or at the bottom. 'So excited' say Cadbury Ireland fans as new chocolate bar flavour to hit shelves TODAY "Not happy though that I've missed out on the 'world's most incredible debate'." Another added: "But the image on the packet has chocolate side up. Even in the adverts. "They'll be saying pizza is being eaten upside down soon." "I solve the problem by never eating one at a time and "sandwiching" 2 together, either chocolate to chocolate or biscuit to biscuit. "Go on, do it, you know you want to!" joked a third. Meanwhile, London's most famous landmarks were lit up with dazzling light projections to mark 100 years of McVitie's Chocolate Digestives. The London Eye became a towering tribute with a jaw-dropping 360-degree rotating projection of the beloved biccie. Tower Bridge joined the biscuit birthday bash with a rolling showreel of fireworks, balloons and confetti. While County Hall followed suit, stopping the passers-by in their tracks. The ambitious projections took eight weeks of meticulous planning and precision mapping to perfectly align the visuals onto each landmark using cutting-edge hologauze and projection wizardry. Next up in the celebrations – The McVitie's Chocolate Digestives Experience – will open in London this May. Set in Piccadilly Circus, the immersive concept store promises to be a biscuit-lovers' dream with bonkers bakes, must-have merch and Digestives-themed art. Entry is free, and it's open for one weekend only – from Friday 2 May to Monday 5 May at Below the Lights, Piccadilly Circus. Other Choccy News 5 An iconic chocolate biscuit branded "Aussie gold" launched in UK supermarkets for the first time. Chocolate fans were rejoicing because Tim Tams were finally available to buy across the country. Originally inspired by British Penguin biscuits, Tim Tams were launched by Australian biscuit manufacturer Arnott's in 1964. They're comprised of two chocolate biscuits sandwiched together with chocolate cream, coated in chocolate. Three different flavours are now available including Original, Dark and Chewy Caramel and you can get them for £2.50 at Waitrose and Ocado. Earlier this year, others yelled "it's a party in my mouth" as B&M rolled out a new M&M flavour also only seen in the land down under. The retailer is stocking a Mocha Mudcake version of the classic snack after launching it down under in July last year. Now the quirky flavour has landed in B&M, with shoppers keen to snap it up. Cadbury Twirl Bites in Caramilk and also strawberry also launched last year. Eagle-eyed foodies spotted the treats, titled "Aus Twirl" in B&M. Retro food fans are back on the shelves. Most people have a favourite chocolate bar or crisp flavour they would love to see return - and we can now reveal some that have. Cadbury's iconic gold coins made a return to the supermarket shelves last September. The Hazelnut KitKat Chunky has made a return to the shelves after three years and shoppers can't get enough of it. Plus, Morrisons started stocking Marmite crisps in February this year after Walkers announced it would be discontinuing the flavour. 5 5

A product description reads: "This Limited Edition Lion bar is unmistakably delicious. "The bar is now even more crunchy & tasty due to the sweet caramel, crispy wafer and cereal pieces covered in white chocolate." Chocolate fans have flooded the comments section of the post, to share their love for the indulgent treat. One person, tagging a friend said: "We should try this!" Cadbury Ireland fans in frenzy over 'game-changing' chocolate treat recipe A second person said: "Trip to B&M needed!" A third person joked: "They should've called it a Liger bar." And the limited edition Lion Bars aren't the only chocolates B&M fans have been raving about lately. Shoppers were recently shocked to discover the return of Cadbury Crispello to shelves, a decade after it was discontinued. How to save money on chocolate We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar. Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs... Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars. Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere. Websites like let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal. Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced. They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged. Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar. So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger. Crispello, a mix of wafer and chocolate, has only been available abroad until recently but shoppers were quick to spot it back in the UK. The bars are being sold in individual packs, each containing four separate chocolate-covered crispy wafer shells with a creamy chocolate filling. Snack lovers on Facebook say they have not been able to source them in this country for many, many years. But since they were spotted in the snack aisle at B&M, it's brought back a sense of nostalgia for those who'd forgotten all about them. On Facebook, one user said: 'Saw these in B&M and immediately thought of years ago when they were out." While another added: 'Need these! I remember back in the day when they came out and they were yum.' Another posted 'Addictive'
