Inside Katie Price and ex Alex Reid's marriage as he threatens to ‘expose the tr
In less than a week Katie Price has faced showdowns with not one, but three of her ex's. The former glamour model, 47, hit out last week after her ex-Peter Andre – with whom she shares Junior, 20, and Princess, 18 – accused her of 'lies and baseless allegations' involving their children's welfare. In a statement, her representative said that Katie 'doesn't feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments' and that she would 'no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was'. However, days later another of her ex-husband's – Alex Reid – also called her out in a dramatic way. 'I am spearheading a campaign to expose the truth,' he said in a video last night, accusing Katie of trying to tarnish the reputations of her ex-partners. After just a year of marriage, Katie and Alex, now 50, split in 2011. Here's everything we know about their relationship and how things broke down between the pair. Just eight weeks after Katie split from Peter in 2009, she moved on with former cage fighter Alex, who had then forged a career as a trained mixed martial artist (MMA). He'd also appeared in TV shows including Hollyoaks and My Hero. But it was dating Katie that saw him become a household name after the pair met at Michelle Heaton's 30th birthday party at Cafe De Paris. In her 2010 memoir, You Only Live Once, Katie detailed how she slept with her 'rebound' the night they met. 'I got it off him the first night. I'd been looking at pictures of him and texting him before that, though. Then I met Alex, slept with him and have stayed with him since. How could I resist the power of Alex?' she wrote. 'I love a whirlwind – I'm an all or nothing girl. When something feels right, I believe in getting married and having kids, why wait around? I get on so well with Alex's family and he gets on with mine. We're all very similar,' she added. However, they did briefly split after Katie returned to Australia to star in another season of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! When quitting the jungle, she also infamously dumped Alex live on air during her interview with Ant and Dec, declaring that: 'I just realised I wanted to be on my own, I don't need a relationship.' But a few weeks later the pair were back on, and soon after he then entered the Celebrity Big Brother house (which he went on to win). Katie and Alex had a whirlwind romance, marrying in Las Vegas in February 2010, just seven months after they began dating. Alex also famously spent £60,000 on her engagement ring. A few months later they had their marriage formally recognised with a church blessing in the UK, which was filmed for the ITV2 special Katie And Alex: For Better, For Worse. Their vows to overcome the worst together ended up being an uphill battle. Despite attempts to work on their marriage, in January 2011, Katie announced her impending divorce. 'Alex and I have had a number of difficulties over the past few months. I accept that these were in part caused by my marrying too quickly – we all make mistakes and this was one,' she wrote in a statement. 'However, Alex changed from the man I fell in love with and some of his behaviour became difficult for me to understand and caused issues. I have tried to help him with these issues but they have put a considerable strain on our relationship. 'Our difficulties were also not helped by Alex becoming more fascinated by life in the media eye.' She continued in the lengthy statement: 'Alex and I have spent many hours discussing our relationship and trying to make it work but the issues between us are too deep rooted… 'I am deeply upset that my relationship with Alex has failed but I know it is the right thing for my children and I that we separate. My children are my absolute priority in this and they are being shielded from what is happening.' There's been no love lost between the former couple over the past 14 years, with the pair trading barbs at every opportunity. Over the years he's also branded her a 'spiteful bully' and accused her of bullying him 'for years', as well as causing 'so much pain and suffering'. In 2019 Katie was sued by her ex and ordered by a court to pay him £25,000 after misusing private information about his sex life. She also had to pay him £150,000 in legal costs after allegedly sharing sex tape footage of him with a TV studio audience. Her actions had led to Alex claiming he was 'denigrated in the street'. Last night Alex released his bombshell video, in which he said he was preparing to go up against his ex again. 'Over the years you've seen countless stories by Katie Price directed at me, Peter Andre, Kieran Hayler, and others,' he said. 'I am spearheading a campaign to expose the truth. Former cage fighter, Alex Reid, has vowed to expose the truth about his ex-wife, Katie Price, who he married in 2010 after dating for seven months - before splitting up with the glamour icon a year later Alex Reid and Katie Price were only married for a year before calling time on their torrid relationship. Fresh from her divorce from Peter Andre, the glamour icon, 47, started dating the former cage fighter, 50, just eight weeks after her split from Pete in 2010, following a chance meeting at Michelle Heaton's 30th birthday party at Cafe De Paris in London. The loved-up couple headed to Sin City six months later after scrapping a deal with a glossy magazine in favour of a quickie ceremony that was organised by Katie and her friends while Alex was in the Celebrity Big Brother house. However, after less than a year of being Mr and Mrs they called it quits, with Katie saying they had 'married too soon'. It comes as Alex leaked footage of the OnlyFans star appearing to count wads of cash while bankrupt while threatening to 'reveal the truth' about his ex. Alex says relationship with Katie was like an 'LSD trip' Speaking about his time on Celebrity Big Brother when he was dating Katie, Alex told the Daily Star after their split:"I found it really peaceful, it was the most peaceful place at the time of my existence. "My world, at the time, was upside down and like a bomb had hit it with all the shenanigans with my ex-partner, who I won't mention. "I couldn't walk down the street or go the toilet without someone trying to take a picture - although I was in front of all cameras, it was so peaceful to not have a mobile phone and to not know what was going on in the outside world. "My life felt like an LSD trip, I say that, I wasn't taking LSD, but the world was weird. "I didn't know what was real or what was fake." Last-minute wedding causes rift with Alex' parents Katie and Alex's last-minute wedding caused a rift between the former MMA star and his parents because Katie surprised him at the airport as they were jetting off to Las Vegas, meaning he couldn't invite his mum and dad. 'The wedding was whirlwind and a bit of a surprise. Katie planned it all,' Alex told the Mirror. 'My mum and dad – my whole family in fact – were a bit gutted. I managed to tell my mum in a quick call just minutes before, but no one else,' Alex shared, noting that he deeply regretted the fallout. 'I was like a lamb to the slaughter' Alex said he felt like a 'lamb to the slaughter' when he married Katie in Las Vegas. The former MMA fighter discussed his high- profile marriage with the former glamour model on GB News with Nigel Farage He said: "All of a sudden I'm stratospheric everywhere because of my relationship with a certain person. Alex sues Katie Alex sued Katie for "distributing private information – some of it of a sexual nature", which "violated his right to privacy" in 2020. She allegedly shared an explicit video clip of him to an audience on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side in 2018. The OnlyFans star was ordered to pay £250,000 five years ago - with Alex claiming he was still waiting for the money last year. In January 2024, he opened up to the Mirror, accusing Katie of verbal threats, saying: " Katie Price debt stories have come out due to Katie not paying money owed due to a court case she lost. "I believe it was a landmark hearing by the courts, ruling in a public case a celebrity has intentionally publicly humiliated me. This is backed by years of direct threats from her mouth." Alex continued: "If it wasn't me, then it would be somebody else. It's admirable how she sticks up for Harvey like any parent would, as I would with any of my children, but to then go and attack people doing exactly what people have done to you and your own son is not just hypocritical and contradictory, is disgraceful and undermines any good you have done." He concluded: "The judge made a decision and she has to face her responsibility. As every action has consequences." In response to the claims, a representative of Katie said: "Let him get on with it... Kate won't be responding to any stories put forward by Alex or his team. It's old news and it's boring now." Alex accuses Katie of being 'addicted to the press' After their doomed marriage, Alex accused the mum-of-five of being 'addicted to the press and media', saying it is "so bad she will put anything out as long as her name is in the news at the total disregard of the consequences for anybody else." He continued to The Sun: "I'm down as the shortest marriage to Katie, which is really positive as I managed to get out and escape. Unfortunately I didn't escape the years of abuse from my bitter ex. I walked away for years, but the continued abuse has been so much, I made a stand, for not only me but my family and friends." The Celebrity Big Brother star concluded: "The judge made a decision and she has to face her responsibility. As every action has consequences." Katie tears into Alex's 'disturbing' fetishes In her autobiography Katie tore into Alex's 'weird and kinky' fetishes, saying: ''Think of the most disturbing s**t you could imagine, and times that by ten. "Only then are you getting close to what I witnessed and what Alex wanted me to join in with." Alex says Katie 'made me come out as transvestite' Following Katie's claims, Alex accused his ex-wife of forcing him to come out as a transvestite for her own financial gain. The cage fighter and actor's alter-ego of Roxanne was outed by his then-partner back in October 2009, and he debuted her in public at the book launch for Katie's fashion guide Standing Out: My Look, My Style, My Life later that month, dressed in a gold spandex bodysuit. By 2011, Alex apparently told friends that Katie - then his estranged wife - had killed off Roxanne by forcing him to expose her. Earlier in the year, during a discussion of Eddie Redmayne's Lili Elbe biopic The Danish Girl on Loose Women, Katie again referenced Reid's cross-dressing. "She brought Roxanne out and she's the one who keeps talking about her," Alex told The Sun. "The only reason people know about Roxanne is because she exposed me at her book launch - and even then they didn't meet the real her, they met Katie's version of Roxanne - one she had conjured up for her own financial and business gains." Alex calls marriage to Katie his 'prostitute years' In 2017, Alex slammed his marriage to Katie as the "prostitute years" and said his ex-wife will "do anything to make a buck". Claiming he was delighted to be leaving the showbiz spotlight behind, he told The Sun: "The celebrity world doesn't really make me money - it might do for Katie, but it's a pretty crappy life having to sell your soul to make a living. I call it the prostitute years and now it's self worth. I'm going back to what I love." Katie admits she and Alex married 'too soon' After their torrid time together, Katie admitted she should have waited to waltz down the aisle with Alex. Following their doomed relationship, Katie said she married the former cage fighter "too soon" and that was cited as the reason for their fated split.
