Alex Reid and Katie Price's whirlwind marriage as he vows to 'take her down'

Daily Mirrora day ago
Former cage fighter, Alex Reid, has vowed to expose the truth about his ex-wife, Katie Price, who he married in 2010 after dating for seven months - before splitting up with the glamour icon a year later
Alex Reid and Katie Price were only married for a year before calling time on their torrid relationship. Fresh from her divorce from Peter Andre, the glamour icon, 47, started dating the former cage fighter, 50, just eight weeks after her split from Pete in 2010, following a chance meeting at Michelle Heaton's 30th birthday party at Cafe De Paris in London.

The loved-up couple headed to Sin City six months later after scrapping a deal with a glossy magazine in favour of a quickie ceremony that was organised by Katie and her friends while Alex was in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

However, after less than a year of being Mr and Mrs they called it quits, with Katie saying they had 'married too soon'. It comes as Alex leaked footage of the OnlyFans star appearing to count wads of cash while bankrupt while threatening to 'reveal the truth' about his ex.

So, as we wait for the dad-of-one's next move in an explosive chain of events after Katie's reps say the money in the bombshell video wasn't hers, here's a look at the former couple's truly torrid time together...
Alex says relationship with Katie was like an 'LSD trip'
Speaking about his time on Celebrity Big Brother when he was dating Katie, Alex told the Daily Star after their split:"I found it really peaceful, it was the most peaceful place at the time of my existence. "My world, at the time, was upside down and like a bomb had hit it with all the shenanigans with my ex-partner, who I won't mention.
"I couldn't walk down the street or go the toilet without someone trying to take a picture - although I was in front of all cameras, it was so peaceful to not have a mobile phone and to not know what was going on in the outside world.
"My life felt like an LSD trip, I say that, I wasn't taking LSD, but the world was weird. "I didn't know what was real or what was fake."
Last-minute wedding causes rift with Alex' parents
Katie and Alex's last-minute wedding caused a rift between the former MMA star and his parents because Katie surprised him at the airport as they were jetting off to Las Vegas, meaning he couldn't invite his mum and dad.

'The wedding was whirlwind and a bit of a surprise. Katie planned it all,' Alex told the Mirror. 'My mum and dad – my whole family in fact – were a bit gutted. I managed to tell my mum in a quick call just minutes before, but no one else,' Alex shared, noting that he deeply regretted the fallout.
'I was like a lamb to the slaughter'
Alex said he felt like a 'lamb to the slaughter' when he married Katie in Las Vegas. The former MMA fighter discussed his high- profile marriage with the former glamour model on GB News with Nigel Farage
He said: "All of a sudden I'm stratospheric everywhere because of my relationship with a certain person. I'm everywhere. 'I was just swept away with it. I didn't know what planet I was on. I was like a lamb to the slaughter."

Commenting on Alex's legal action against Katie, Nigel commented: "The marriage didn't last that long. You've been going through, from what I can see of it, eight or nine years of legal action of name calling back and forth with her."
Alex sues Katie
Alex sued Katie for "distributing private information – some of it of a sexual nature", which "violated his right to privacy" in 2020. She allegedly shared an explicit video clip of him to an audience on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side in 2018.
The OnlyFans star was ordered to pay £250,000 five years ago - with Alex claiming he was still waiting for the money last year. In January 2024, he opened up to the Mirror, accusing Katie of verbal threats, saying: " Katie Price debt stories have come out due to Katie not paying money owed due to a court case she lost.

"I believe it was a landmark hearing by the courts, ruling in a public case a celebrity has intentionally publicly humiliated me. This is backed by years of direct threats from her mouth."
Alex continued: "If it wasn't me, then it would be somebody else. It's admirable how she sticks up for Harvey like any parent would, as I would with any of my children, but to then go and attack people doing exactly what people have done to you and your own son is not just hypocritical and contradictory, is disgraceful and undermines any good you have done."
He concluded: "The judge made a decision and she has to face her responsibility. As every action has consequences." In response to the claims, a representative of Katie said: "Let him get on with it... Kate won't be responding to any stories put forward by Alex or his team. It's old news and it's boring now."

Alex accuses Katie of being 'addicted to the press'
After their doomed marriage, Alex accused the mum-of-five of being 'addicted to the press and media', saying it is "so bad she will put anything out as long as her name is in the news at the total disregard of the consequences for anybody else."
He continued to The Sun: "I'm down as the shortest marriage to Katie, which is really positive as I managed to get out and escape. Unfortunately I didn't escape the years of abuse from my bitter ex. I walked away for years, but the continued abuse has been so much, I made a stand, for not only me but my family and friends."
The Celebrity Big Brother star concluded: "The judge made a decision and she has to face her responsibility. As every action has consequences."

Katie tears into Alex's 'disturbing' fetishes
In her autobiography Katie tore into Alex's 'weird and kinky' fetishes, saying: ''Think of the most disturbing s**t you could imagine, and times that by ten.
"Only then are you getting close to what I witnessed and what Alex wanted me to join in with."

Alex says Katie 'made me come out as transvestite'
Following Katie's claims, Alex accused his ex-wife of forcing him to come out as a transvestite for her own financial gain.
The cage fighter and actor's alter-ego of Roxanne was outed by his then-partner back in October 2009, and he debuted her in public at the book launch for Katie's fashion guide Standing Out: My Look, My Style, My Life later that month, dressed in a gold spandex bodysuit.
By 2011, Alex apparently told friends that Katie - then his estranged wife - had killed off Roxanne by forcing him to expose her. Earlier in the year, during a discussion of Eddie Redmayne's Lili Elbe biopic The Danish Girl on Loose Women, Katie again referenced Reid's cross-dressing.

"She brought Roxanne out and she's the one who keeps talking about her," Alex told The Sun. "The only reason people know about Roxanne is because she exposed me at her book launch - and even then they didn't meet the real her, they met Katie's version of Roxanne - one she had conjured up for her own financial and business gains."
Alex calls marriage to Katie his 'prostitute years'
In 2017, Alex slammed his marriage to Katie as the "prostitute years" and said his ex-wife will "do anything to make a buck".
Claiming he was delighted to be leaving the showbiz spotlight behind, he told The Sun: "The celebrity world doesn't really make me money - it might do for Katie, but it's a pretty crappy life having to sell your soul to make a living. I call it the prostitute years and now it's self worth. I'm going back to what I love."
Katie admits she and Alex married 'too soon'
After their torrid time together, Katie admitted she should have waited to waltz down the aisle with Alex.
Following their doomed relationship, Katie said she married the former cage fighter "too soon" and that was cited as the reason for their fated split.

Katie Price 'won't remain silent' as she makes vow ahead of latest podcast episode

Former glamour model Katie Price has found herself embroiled in a controversy after her ex-husband Alex Reid leaked a video of her counting wads of cash amid her bankruptcy Katie Price 's close friends have reportedly said that the former glamour model is adamant about not 'remaining silent' after her ex-husband Alex Reid leaked a video of her counting wads of cash amid her bankruptcy. In the video which was leaked a number of days ago on social media, the mum-of-five, 47, is seen lounging on the couch as she was "enjoying counting" the pile of money in front of her, saying: "There's loads here.. I'm just sorting it out." The reality TV star, who was bankrupted twice over debts totalling more than £3m, was asked by daughter Princess if she would help pay her school fees and those of her second child with ex-husband Peter Andre. Price responded: "Your dad can sit on that' before lifting a middle finger. It comes after Peter Andre's wife Emily reacts to 'cruel' Katie Price swipe in the bombshell video. Wearing white jodhpurs and sat next to a Christmas tree, she continued: 'Does he go on about it a lot? Well it's tough because I'm in bankruptcy to next May now." Katie also refers to a property - 'my London flat' - which fans believe is the property allocated to Peter Andre as part of their divorce settlement. The footage was shared this week by Price's ex, former Big Brother star Reid, who said in a statement that 'the truth will now be heard'. The Mirror understands that the one minute and 38 second video, believed to have been filmed in late 2020, has been sent to Price's bankruptcy trustee who continues to 'seek realisations from various third parties'. Following the release of the video, Katie released a statement, explaining that the cash in the video didn't belong to the Mucky Mansion star. A representative for the star said: "This is a video that was shared with Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee's investigations into the same. The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie's divorce from Peter Andre. "Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate." Following the now viral leaked video, Katie's close friends have said that they are surprised at how calm she is taking the whole controversy, and she isn't letting it get her down as she continues to pour herself into her work. While many others may shy away from speaking out publicly, Katie is set to continue to voice her truth as her latest podcast episode is still going ahead on Thursday - as it does every week. The former glamour model, who hosts The Katie Price show with her sister Sophie, is going full steam ahead as usual - a move which her pals think will frustrate Reid even further. Insiders told The Sun: "We're all really surprised by how calm she has been, as Alex's latest stunt would send most people into a very dark place. This isn't the first time Kate's ex husbands and partners have ganged up on her, but the last time it happened, it drove her over the edge and we were all seriously worried about her. This time around though, she is in a completely different place." "Her feeling is, if Alex Reid wants to create a drama to get himself some attention, then good for him. She is refusing to stoop to his level by coming out all guns blazing as she has in the past. That's what the old Katie would have done, but this time around Katie is in no rush to publicly comment on this latest attempt to bring her down," the source added. The insiders went on to claim that Katie 'will have her say' at some point, adding that 'you can't silence or keep the Pricey down'. Katie's podcast drop will go ahead tomorrow, but she won't be mentioning the drama surrounding the leaked video because it was recorded before it surfaced on social media. However, her pals have said that even if it had been recorded afterwards, it would not have silenced her. "She recorded this week's upcoming episode on Monday, before Alex dropped the video, but even if she had known about the video then, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of talking about him publicly at the moment," they added. The former glamour model was bankrupted twice, first in 2019 over debts totalling £3.5m, including £970,639 to HMRC and then again last March over a second £761,994 unpaid HMRC demand for money earned while she was already bankrupt. ‌ Creditors include Alex Reid who is owed £175,000 in High Court damages and costs he was awarded after she revealed a sex tape he says was filmed without his consent. Along with the leaked footage, Alex shared a statement saying he was "spearheading a campaign to expose the truth". He said: "Over the years you have seen countless stories by Katie Price directed at me, Peter, Keiran and others. Today I want to be clear. I am spearheading a campaign to expose the truth. "This isn't about gossip but about evidence. It's not about rumour, it's about reality. After years of silence, the time has finally come to reveal all."

Mystery man who bought Katie Price's Mucky Mansion for £1.1m revealed after star claims house is ‘cursed'

James Mercer, a leading furniture tycoon and divorced father-of-two, snapped up the run-down West Sussex home back in January after Katie was booted out as part of her bankruptcy. He admitted to the Daily Mail that the home's previous owner had left it "mucky" and in need of work. It is believed that James purchased the home as part of a fresh start with his partner, Leike Qu, who is a co-owner of the house. James has been with Leike since splitting from his wife and the mother of his kids who has remained in Northern Ireland following their break-up. Speaking for the first time about owning one of Britain's most famous houses, Leike told the Mail: "We are just very ordinary and quiet people who fell in love with this country house." The couple are believed to have set aside a substantial amount of money in order to renovate the property with work already underway on turning it into a dream residence once more. Construction work is ongoing with scaffolding surrounding the mansion. Katie made a loss on the home with James paying around £200,000 less than Katie originally paid for the home. This is due to the star failing to find a buyer at the advertised price due to its conditions. Katie Price's BGT star rival reignites bitter feud as she shares video mocking under-fire star's new surgeries The former glamour model had also previously bragged in interviews that the West Sussex mansion was worth a cool £2million. Katie will not see a penny of the proceeds if this sale if it does complete, as she no longer owns it. The mum-of-five was forced out of the dilapidated house in May after failing to meet payments on two mortgages. Katie was served an eviction notice following her second bankruptcy. As a result, any money made against the house will be swallowed up by the debts she ran up against it while living there. In 2022, the star's attempts to renovate the home featured in Channel 4's Katie Price: Mucky Mansion. The show was eventually axed after two series', shortly before Katie was ordered to move out of the house via an eviction order. After the bank took possession, the Mucky Mansion - which sits in 12 acres of land - was put up for sale with a price tag of £1.5million. However, the asking price was later slashed in a bid to get it sold. The price was cut for a second time in October. The swimming pool was left empty with many of the home's rooms in desperate need of renovation. Katie also faced personal tragedy at the house with a multitude of her animals dying whilst living there. Both her horse and her German Shepherd were killed at the home as well as a dog she bought for Princess. 5 The house we left to ruin under Katie's ownership Credit: Splash

‘The terrible TV show that almost bankrupted my channel'

The reboot of The X-Files 'almost broke' Channel 5, the broadcaster's chief content officer has revealed. Ben Frow was speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival when he slated the revival series starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as agents Mulder and Scully. Frow was asked to reveal his favourite TV shows of the last 50 years, naming the hugely influential sci-fi series which first aired from 1993 to 2002. It was revived in 2016, with additional episodes airing in 2018, and the first episode at the time drew in the biggest audience in Channel 5's history for a drama. Over 5million TV viewers tuned in live or caught up online the week after it was broadcast. It was the biggest show launch since Celebrity Big Brother hit Channel 5 screens in 2011. But Frow told the crowd at Edinburgh TV Festival The X-Files was a 'rubbish mega series'. 'We put a lot of money into that – it almost broke us.' The conversation was unusually honest, with Frow admitting the first six months of 2025 had been 'grim' for Channel 5. He also called two of its most highly-anticipated series, reboots of Challenge Anneka and Faking It, 'disasters'. 'I was stunned Faking it was such a disaster,' he said. 'It was so brilliantly made.' The noughties life-swapping show was rebooted this year. Every episode of Faking It saw a plucky volunteer dropped into a foreign world, with just four weeks to get to grips with a new skill and convince a panel of experts they're the genuine article. Frow explained: 'I think in the New World Order you don't have to watch a show to get what the show is so we kind of encourage people not to watch the programme, but I was very surprised. 'I also wonder if Faking It as a title since fake news came – you know, it was 20 years ago.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Challenge Anneka was another flop for Channel 5, but in hindsight Frow said he knew it was doomed before it even made it to air. More Trending Originally airing on BBC from 1989 to 1995, the show followed Anneka Rice being given a task without any prior knowledge, with a tight deadline to complete it. usually in aid for a charitable cause. But Challenge Anneka's second lease of life was quickly cut off and its final episode never even aired. It was ditched from Channel 5's weekend schedule after just two episodes. 'We realised about two weeks before we put it out, 'Hang on a minute. This is just a big makeover show.' We've had big home renovation shows since then and the world has changed so much that what Annika was doing was really ambitious 20, 30 years ago,' Frow said.
