Celtics Lab 315: Surveying Boston's playoffs path and a last look at the regular season

Celtics Lab 315: Surveying Boston's playoffs path and a last look at the regular season The 2024-25 NBA regular season is officially in the books for the Boston Celtics, and the 2025 NBA Playoffs quickly coming into focus for the team. The Celtics' postseason defense of their 2024 NBA Championship begins in earnest on April 20 after their second consecutive 60-win regular season, and we have the path Boston will need to traverse to get back to the league's biggest stage all but finalized. We say 'all but' given we won't know whether the second-seeded Celtics play the Atlanta Hawks or the Orlando Magic in the first round until they sort out their play-in tilt, but from there, the field is largely set. Which teams look to be the biggest challenge for Boston? What are the other matchups looking like? The hosts of the CLNS Media "Celtics Lab" podcast, Alex Goldberg, Cameron Tabatabaie, and Justin Quinn, take a close look at the postseason landscape in this week's episode of the show, with a look back at the regular season and our predictions on how it would play out for good measure. Tune in to get your playoff bearings -- and see how we did. Celtics Lab is brought to you by Gametime. Star big man Kristaps Porzingis embraces what it means to play for the Boston Celtics

Star big man Kristaps Porzingis embraces what it means to play for the Boston Celtics Star big man Kristaps Porzingis embraces what it means to play for the Boston Celtics, and fans of the team have connected with him quickly because of it. Some players spend years suiting up for the Celtics, and never connect with the Boston faithful in the same sort of way the Latvian center has already managed to in just his second season with the team (and with a fair amount of that time sidelined with injury, while we are at it). Cohost of the CLNS Media "Celtics Lab" podcast, Cameron Tabatabaie, recently had the opportunity to sit down with KP to talk about that special connection he has with the crowd, the push for Banner 19, and a lot more. The rest of the crew gets into what the postseason landscape is shaping up to look like, and what Boston might do with their 15th roster spot. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say! What can the Dallas Mavericks tell us about the future of the Boston Celtics?

What can the Dallas Mavericks tell us about the future of the Boston Celtics? What can the the current state of the Dallas Mavericks tell us about the future of the Boston Celtics? From how the sale of the Mavs can give us insight into the future of the management of the roster (and who might be doing it) to everything the Celtics should want to avoid (trading away a younger star for an aging, injury-probe star, as an example), there are a ton of insights that Dallas can provide for fans of the Celtics in this important transitional moment for the storied ball club. The hosts of the CLNS Media "Celtics Lab" podcast, Alex Goldberg, Cameron Tabatabaie, and Justin Quinn, linked up with ESPN senior reporter Tim McMahon to talk about his new book, 'The Wonder Boy: Luka Doncic and the Curse of Greatness,' what it can tell us about the future of Boston's roster and front office, and who might emerge from the West to make the 2025 NBA Finals. Can the NBA All-Star Game be fixed?

Can the NBA All-Star Game be fixed? Every year, it seems like there is a new and different problem with the league's annual star-studded exhibition event. The players score too much, or the production isn't very good. The emphasis is not focused enough on the game itself, or the additional events need help. We could go on and on, but this season's big event actually produced a fairly solid overall product while absolutely dropping the ball on its presentation. The Boston Celtics who took part were among the more vocal critics from the players, and fans everywhere had more than their fill of Kevin Hart. The hosts of the CLNS Media "Celtics Lab" podcast, Cameron Tabatabaie, and Justin Quinn (Alex Goldberg had the week off), took a closer look on a recent episode of their show. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about what went right, wrong, and sideways from this year's All-Star festivities.
