Sleeping woman sexually assaulted at TriMet MAX station in Hillsboro
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities are looking for information that could help identify a man accused of assaulting a sleeping woman at a TriMet MAX station. Hillsboro police said the man assaulted the woman at the 12th and Washington MAX Station just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20. Security footage showed the man leaving the scene in a van that appears to be a Chevrolet Express, according to investigators. Lucedale resident killed in Memorial Day weekend crash
BILOXI, Miss. (WKRG) — A George County resident was killed over the weekend in a crash, has learned. Fairhope police investigate shooting in Rock Creek subdivision Troopers responded to a crash around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 613, according to a Mississippi Highway Patrol news release. A 2015 Chevrolet Express, driven by 57-year-old Tyler S. Merwin and occupied by a 52-year-old woman and four juveniles, all of Lucedale, Miss., was traveling south on Highway 613, according to the release. It reportedly collided with a northbound 2014 Ford F150, driven by a 20-year-old and carrying a 20-year-old passenger, both of Moss Point, Miss. Merwin was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman and one of the juveniles were taken to the hospital with injuries, the release said. Oregon community college coach and player killed when truck crashes into bus carrying softball team
An Oregon college softball team traveling from a game was involved in a two-vehicle crash that killed an athlete and coach, authorities said Saturday. The driver of a pickup truck crossed a centerline and crashed head-on into a bus carrying 10 members of the Umpqua Community College softball team Friday night in Coos County, Oregon State Police said. Jami Strinz, 46, described on the school's website as head softball coach, was driving the Chevrolet Express bus. Police said she was later declared dead at a hospital. Passenger, Kiley Jones, 19, was declared dead at the scene. The freshman from Nampa, Idaho, played first base, according to the school's athletics department website. The team was traveling from a game in Coos Bay, according to a post on X by the athletics department. 'We are deeply saddened to confirm that one of our student-athletes and one of our coaches lost their lives in the accident,' the post said. 'UCC hearts are breaking with this news, and we ask the community to keep the families and all of those affect in their thoughts and prayers.' The other eight occupants of the bus suffered 'moderate to serious injuries and were provided emergency medical services,' police said. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado truck suffered serious injuries and was taken to an emergency medical center. 'Impaired driving is considered a primary cause of the crash,' police said. A criminal investigation is ongoing. Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek said in a statement on X that her 'heart aches' for the school family reeling from the tragedy. 'Oregon is here for you in your grief and loss," she said.

Woman hospitalized after crash on I-80 in Sacramento County
( — A woman involved in a solo crash along Interstate 80 in Sacramento County was hospitalized after then being hit by another vehicle on Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said. While traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 east of Elkhorn Boulevard at around 2:40 a.m. the woman was involved in a solo crash that disabled her Honda Pilot. Arson suspect barricaded in burning Rancho Cordova home Once the vehicle had stopped, it was blocking two of the center lanes. A man traveling eastbound on I-80 in a Chevrolet Express then hit the woman. The woman was transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
