McDonald's fans fume after 'best' item quietly axed from menu
The wrap was first introduced back in the summer of 2023 and consists of chicken breast strips - either fried or grilled - crispy onions, rashers of bacon and lettuce, wrapped in a soft tortilla McDonald's has quietly axed the "best" menu item, and fans are fuming. The fast food chain has confirmed that it's taken off the Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap from its menu. The wrap was first introduced back in the summer of 2023 and consists of chicken breast strips - either fried or grilled - crispy onions, rashers of bacon and lettuce, wrapped in a soft tortilla. The item quickly became a firm favourite with fans saying it was "perfect for lunch". McDonald's discontinued the item earlier this month as part of a "rotation" of its menu, which the brand is known to do every few months. A spokesperson told the Sun: "As part of our regular wrap rotation, we've taken the Caesar wrap off the menu for now. We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting." As McDonald's is known for shaking up the menu every few months, often discontinued items do make a return. That means there is a chance the Chicken Caesar Wrap could come back in the future. Fans of the wrap took to social media to question where it had gone earlier this month. Posting on Reddit, one fan said: "Where has it gone? Please don't tell me it's discontinued. It's the best one of them all!" Another chipped in: "What the hell?! Why's this not been publicised anywhere. It was the best one of all of them. I can't believe they've decided to go with the Katsu over it. How can I complain." A third added: "It was the only good one in this current line up, I'll gladly die in (sic) this hill." This month, McDonald's added several new items to its menu for spring, as well as brought back a few fan favourites. Maccies intrododuced a new frozen Cherry Lemonade which is described as a tangy frozen lemonade with a sweet cherry flavoured swirl. McDonald's fans fume after 'best ever' menu item is quietly discontinued
McDonald's fans are left fuming after 'best' menu item is quietly taken off the menu. The Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap was a firm favourite among the fast food chains customers, after it launched in 2023. The burger chain discontinued the item as part of a 'rotation' of its menu, which the brand is known to do every few months. The popular wrap, which contained chicken breast strips, crispy onions, bacon and lettuce, wrapped in a soft tortilla, was removed from the menu earlier this month. A McDonald's spokesperson told The Sun: 'As part of our regular wrap rotation, we've taken the Caesar wrap off the menu for now. 'We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting.' McDonald's is known for shaking up the menu every few months and often items return. That means there is a chance the Chicken Caesar Wrap could make a return at some point in the future. It comes after McDonald's announced a new summer menu earlier this month with 12 tasty new additions including a fan favourite previously dubbed the 'best burger ever'. Launching in McDonald's restaurants across the UK, the new menu is set to feature the Biscoff McFlurry and Frappe, a spicy burger as well as a Pokemon Happy Meals for the kids. The ultra-popular Steakhouse Stack burger will make its much-anticipated return but it will set you back a little more than before. It features two juicy 100 per cent British and Irish beef patties, with cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onion, lettuce, and a savoury black peppercorn sauce served in a toasted sesame bun and will only be available for a limited time. Originally launched in March 2023, it's been in and out of restaurants and instantly proved a huge hit with fast food fans. The fast food giant last relaunched the much-loved Steakhouse Stack in January 2024 for £5.39, however, now fans will have to fork out £5.99 for the burger alone. After the beloved burger was added to McDonald's menu last year, it created a buzz among customers. One user took to X, formerly known as Twitter: 'Whoever Ronald McDonald employed to invent the steakhouse stack deserves the world'. Another keen foodie said: 'The steakhouse stack was the best burger they've done in a long time'. A different user went as far as claiming: 'The steakhouse stack is the best burger on the McDonald's menu and nothing will convince me otherwise '. Another unlikely McDonald's fan agreed: 'The Steakhouse Stack from Maccies may just be the best burger I've ever consumed from that cesspit of a place wow'. More took to the social media platform to express their love for the burger: 'McDonald's steakhouse that's the best burger they've ever produced'. 'Steakhouse stack did not disappoint though' and 'Ngl the McDonald's Steakhouse Stack is very good'. One even expressed: 'Petition to keep the Steakhouse Stack for good', about the limited-edition item. But the Steakhouse Stack isn't the only exciting addition coming to McDonald's menus this summer. As the weather warms up the refreshing Frozen Cherry Lemonade is sure to be a hit. For £2.99 the icy beverage is a tangy frozen lemonade with a deliciously sweet cherry-flavoured swirl. Sweet-toothed diners will be delighted by the return of the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry and Frappe. The McFlurry, available in regular and mini sizes has crunchy Biscoff biscuit crumbs swirled into the soft serve. The Frappe has a vanilla flavour base, blended with ice and Biscoff biscuit crumb which is then topped with caramel-flavoured cream and a Biscoff crumb dusting. Customers who can handle the heat will want to try the McSpicy X Frank's RedHot burger with chicken breast in a hot and crispy coating, lettuce, cheese, jalapeños, slivered onions, and Frank's RedHot® Mayo all in a toasted sesame seed bun. For those who only want a taste of spice, the Frank's RedHot Mayo is perfect to dip a chip in and will be available separately exclusively in UK McDonald's locations. A new limited-edition Happy Meal will soon feature one of eight Dragon-Type Pokémon toys or one of two Little People Big Dreams books, 'I Can Make Amazing Music' or 'I Can Be a Wonderful Artist'. The special Happy Meal toys will be available from May 7 until June 17 so you better be quick. The limited-time Katsu Chicken One wrap with crispy or grilled chicken, coated in flavourful katsu sauce, onions, cucumber, and lettuce in a toasted tortilla is staying on the menu - and diners can get it for only £1.99 on Wednesdays. Also remaining available to order are the Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers that come in a four-piece or Sharebox. What's on McDonald's new summer menu? It's worth bearing in mind, McDonald's, like other fast food chains and retailers, regularly shakes up its menu. That means there is a chance the Caesar Wrap could make a return at some point in the future. Last October, McDonald's announced it was bringing back its iconic McRib after almost 10 years for a limited time. A host of other items have come off menus in recent years to make way for new ones including the fan favourite Chicken Legend. The Breakfast Bagel and iconic Sundae's have also fallen off menus since 2018. Our research found the price of four items has jumped by up to 15% in the last 12 months. Customers now have to pay 10% more for the popular Steakhouse Stack burger, which now costs £5.99 as a single item when it was £5.49 last year. Its Biscoff Frappe has also been hiked, from £2.99 to £3.09, while its Biscoff McFlurry is now £2.29, up from £1.99. "Right now double cheeseburgers are over 2 quid I think. It's just not worth it anymore. Big Mac is 5 quid and I will destroy it in 4-5 bites. I rather make food at home now."
