Olly Murs walks off stage at Glasgow concert in 20 minutes; fans left fuming
Singer Olly Murs shocked fans at his Glasgow concert when he ended up stopping his gig after only a 20-minute show. The singer who had performed 6 songs, abruptly stopped his concert and walked off the stage, sending fans into a state of shock. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The pop star, well known for his hits like 'Dance With Me Tonight', 'Up', and 'You Don't Know Love', made headlines after he ended up stopping his concert just a few minutes into the show. The singer was performing his song 'Kiss Me Like You Mean It' when he made a sudden stop. He quickly clarified to the audience that 'My voice has gone,' as per The Mirror. This was the 40-year-old pop star's second sold-out show in the city. Olly explained further that even though he wanted to continue the concert, he couldn't. He shared, 'This has never happened to me before, but you can hear my voice is going. I want to give you the concert you deserve, so I can't go on.' He concluded his statement with, "I'm going to come back, but I need to go now," and then proceeded to walk off. The fans of the singer at first had thought they may be playing a joke but later turned furious after the singer, in fact, walked off stage and did not return. Murs later took to his social media accounts to share an apology regarding his actions. "Glasgow, I am so sorry tonight. So sorry that I had to walk off after six songs and cancel the show. I have never done this in 15 years. Most of the time, as singers, you can kind of get through it if your voice isn't 100 percent, but I walked out tonight thinking my voice was great. I may have felt a little bit rundown, but I didn't think I couldn't do the show because I wouldn't have come out there otherwise. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now So, to walk off after six songs, I am so sorry. 15s, and I have never done this." He concluded his statement with, "As you can hear from my voice, I was sounding rubbish, and it is unfair for you guys to spend all that money to come and see me. You deserve the best show and me being at my best. I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart." The singer also recently shared that he had to reschedule his shows in Brighton and Hull last month as well. In a post that he shared online on his social media platforms, Murs detailed and shared how "I hate that I have to write this & am really so sorry to let you guys down, but unfortunately, we are having to reschedule our next two shows in Brighton & Hull.' He cited a 'gastroenteritis bug' as the reason for why he and his crew were not fit to conduct the show. He shared in his statement that "The gastroenteritis bug I had last night is currently ripping through our band and crew, which makes it impossible to put on a show for you. We'll be taking a break for 48 hours to ensure everyone can be fit and healthy for the remainder of the tour. Thank you for understanding, and we're working hard to bring you news of our rescheduled dates as soon as we can. Love, Olly x."

Olly Murs abandons live show just 20 minutes in: 'I can't go on'
Olly Murs left the stage after just five songs tonight, telling the packed arena that he 'couldn't go on' due to ill health. The 2009 X Factor star has been performing across the country with his 15 Years of Hits tour, supported by boyband Blue. Olly, 41, is famous for his energetic concerts, bursting with cheeky dance moves and all his upbeat tunes, from Dance With Me Tonight to Troublemaker. However, while on stage in Glasgow, Scotland, this evening, he had to make an unfortunate announcement just 20 minutes into the gig. In footage obtained by The Sun, the Dear Darlin' hitmaker can be heard telling the sold-out venue: 'My voice has gone.' Just after battling through Kiss Me Like You Mean It, he explained to the OVO Hydro crowd: 'This has never happened to me before, but you can hear my voice is going. 'I wouldn't wanna continue on and just ruin it for you guys because it's a really great show. I'm really proud of this whole production and how it's looking, how it's sounding, and for some reason, five songs in, my voice is going. 'That's so unlike me, so I just wanna say sorry from the bottom of my heart.' Olly continued: 'I don't wanna upset you guys; I'm so sorry. 'We'll sort out refunds for anyone that's unhappy, but Glasgow, I will be back to see you guys soon. I'm so sorry. I'll see you soon. I love you all.' 'That's the best I can do, so sorry,' he concluded, the audience applauding while he left backstage. Thousands of fans paid upwards of £57 for tickets to Olly's show, which marked his second night at the venue before playing in Manchester tomorrow. One crestfallen fan told the Scottish Sun after his exit: 'We were just getting into it after catching Blue as the support act. 'He sang five songs, then suddenly stopped. He said he'd figure something out, but before we knew it, we were being told to leave. 'There was still at least an hour left—now we don't know what to do with ourselves!' Taking to social media after news of Olly's premature departure began circulating, other fans didn't seem hopeful about his tour continuing, with dates also scheduled for Birmingham, London, and Brighton over the coming days. 'Won't be seeing Olly Murs on Sunday I fear', wrote @cloe_elizabeth1 on X. 'I'm legit so worried! Hope he is ok through. Been to every tour in the last 15 years!', replied @AmyPMarie. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'Olly Murs cut his show short tonight, he only did 5 songs apparently, then looked a bit poorly. Hope he's okay!', tweeted @LittleMeThatter. Urging those criticising Olly to be kind, @katieelizabethx also wrote: 'People moaning at Olly Murs for leaving the stage after 5 songs are acting like they've never had a sick day. I understand it's gutting, but health always comes first. Have a bit of empathy.' Unfortunately, this is the second time Olly's tour has been struck by sickness, as the singer had to cancel two shows last month when a stomach bug 'ripped through' his band. He was also forced to scrap a gig in Dubai in February due to a throat infection, which struck him down at the last minute, and had to be replaced as Take That's opener last spring. Olly, who is currently expecting a second child with wife Amelia Tank, worked hard to get in tip-top shape ahead of touring. More Trending Sharing his results via social media before hitting the road, the pop star revealed he had been 'shredding' in the gym for 12 weeks, allowing him to build muscle and transform his physique. Olly's biggest cheerleader, aka his wife, was keen to shower him with compliments, taking to her Insta Story with: 'When he told me he was going to get in the best shape yet for this tour he was not wrong!! 'And there were no shortcuts here… just discipline, hard work and training like a beast. 'So proud of you darlin and can't wait to see you do what you do best whilst looking like something out of Men's Health magazine.' Got a story? Olly Murs: 'I used to sing The Proclaimers to my nan for biscuits'
Olly Murs is bringing his latest show to Glasgow as he celebrates over a decade of hits at his 'best' stop on tour. Olly Murs first appeared on screens back in 2009 as a contestant on The X-Factor. Despite coming in second to Geordie singer Joe McElderry, Murs has gone on to release chart-topping singles and five number one albums. Now, 15 years on, he's celebrating with his 15 Years of Hits Tour which will see him take to the stage at Glasgow's OVO Hydro on Thursday. Murs spokes to STV News about his upcoming show, saying that Glasgow is his favourite stop on tour. 'Honestly, genuinely, I say it to everyone, it's probably the best for me on tour. I think the arena, the Hydro, the people, it just has everything for a great night of entertainment for me so, I just love it,' he said. 'It gets me really excited when I see it in the diary and it says, 'up next is Glasgow', I'm like, 'right, here we go'.' The Dance With Me Tonight singer has even popped a 'little treat' in his set specifically for his Scottish fans. 'I think it's like, I'm singing one of Scotland's national anthems in my set, well, I'm actually singing Proclaimers and although it is not obviously a national anthem of Scotland, but it's definitely something you hear a lot of Scottish people sing,' he said. However, it's not just his love for Scotland that has inspired the set list addition with the singer saying The Proclaimers hold real sentiment in his life. 'When I was a kid, my nan used to say to me, 'if you sing this song to me, Proclaimers, you'll get a biscuit'. And I used to have to sing it,' he said. He said the song holds a sentimental place in his life and performing it to Scots on Thursday will be special moment. 'Singing that every night for my nan is pretty special. And the fact I'm doing it in Scotland's even better,' he said.
