Britain's Got Talent's most viewed audition that led to over 1bn streams of song
Britain's Got Talent has seen plenty of acts rise to stardom since the ITV talent show first hit our screens back in 2007. From dancing dogs to magicians, dance groups and singers – there's rarely been a dull moment. Many of the acts from the show have gone on to become household names, including the likes of series one winner opera singer Paul Potts and Scottish songstress Susan Boyle – who caused a media frenzy when her first audition aired back in 2009. Susan was pipped to the post as winner of the show that year by street dance troupe Diversity. However, there's one act who has gone on to have an impact around the world since his first audition. Ten years ago in 2015, singer Calum Scott had one of the most iconic moments in the show with his song choice. His haunting rendition of 'Dancing on My Own', originally released in 2010 by Swedish pop star Robyn, saw Simon press his golden buzzer, winning him a place in the live semi-final and eventually, the final. Calum, from Hull, has gone on to have huge success as an artist, performing with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Leona Lewis and Take That. His recorded version of his audition track now totals more than 1bn streams on Spotify alone. Dancing on My Own reached number two in the UK charts upon its release in 2016 and was Britain's best-selling single that summer. Calum's first Britain's Got Talent audition has now had a staggering 399m views on the official BGT account on YouTube. It's the most watched from the talent show, followed by Susan Boyle with 263 million views. The 2025 series is the show's 18th and it comes to an end this weekend. Britain's Got Talent's live final airs on Saturday, May 31 at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Calum Scott is coming back to SA!
South Africans evidently have a thing for Calum Scott. Following a sold-out debut in 2018 and return tours in 2022 and 2023, Breakout Events has confirmed that the UK singer-songwriter will return to South Africa in January 2026 for a three-city tour as part of his global Avenoir Tour. Cape Town fans, mark your calendars: the multi-platinum artist is set to deliver another emotionally charged performance in the Mother City, as he lights up the stage at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on 14 January 2026. 'I remember my first time in South Africa, being blown away by the demand for tickets to my show – it made me feel so special! Every time that I have been back, I have felt the same love and excitement. Touring is my favourite part of my job, but touring in places like South Africa is just a dream come true,' says Scott. The Avenoir Tour is Scott's biggest yet, with shows lined up across 24 cities in the United Kingdom and Europe before he heads south of the equator for shows in Cape Town, Durban (16 January) and Pretoria (17 January). Expect to soak up the live energy of Scott's fan favourites including 'You Are The Reason' and 'Dancing On My Own', as well as tracks from his upcoming album Avenoir, which is due to drop this September.

Is Rachael Blackmore racing at Cheltenham Festival this year and who are her likely winners?
March is the month that the Cheltenham Festival dominates the back pages for four days of horseracing action which can send winning jockeys into the mainstream. One such champion is Ireland's Rachael Blackmore. A favourite with the general public following her triumph in the 2021 Grand National which made her the first female jockey to win the famous race. At Cheltenham, Blackmore has cemented her place as one of the best jockeys around riding 16 winners at the festival including A Plus Tard in the 2022 Gold Cup where she repeated her previous feat and became the first female jockey the prestigious trophy. Captain Guinness won here last year and faces a tough test battling Jonbon while Dancing On My Own could be a surprise winner. SNL50: David Byrne and Robyn team up for surprise pop classic duet
Robyn teamed for a surprise rendition of "Dancing On My Own" during Saturday Night Live ' s SNL 50: The Homecoming concert this weekend. The Swedish singer, 45, took to the stage to perform her 2010 hit before the Talking Heads frontman, 72, joined her from the second verse. Both musicians wore matching suits reminiscent of Byrne's famously huge outfit designed by Gail Blacker for his band's "Stop Making Sense" tour and documentary. The pair also performed Talking Heads' hit "This Must Be the Place."
