Bryan Cook reflects on the unprecedented success he and the rest of the Chiefs' 2022 draft class has had
Bryan Cook reflects on the unprecedented success he and the rest of the Chiefs' 2022 draft class has had originally appeared on A to Z Sports. A good portion of the Chiefs' recent success can be attributed to their 2022 draft class. Kansas City hit an absolute home run, drafting six players who are currently starters as they enter their fourth NFL season. Nine of the 10 selected are still on the roster, and eight of them have made notable contributions. The lone pick that didn't pan was offensive tackle Darian Kinnard. Safety Bryan Cook (second round, 62nd overall pick) is a member of that prestigious draft class. While speaking to the media after training camp practice on Tuesday, Cook was asked how he and the other members of the Chiefs' 2022 draft picks have responded to losing Super Bowl LIX. "We took a heartbreaking loss, but at the same time, we looked up and we realized that we accomplished history, too, for most franchise wins," Cook said. "We understand what the ultimate goal is, why we do this, why we come to training camp, why we wake up at certain times of the day. Always putting things into our body, as far as replenishing. It's all for that bigger goal. For us to come short, it's unfortunate, but you look at the bright side. I went to three straight [Super Bowls] in my first three years. My first postseason was a loss was in the Super Bowl. I'll take that any day of the week." Members of the Chiefs' roster who were drafted in 2022 boast an unreal 9-1 career postseason record. That is more playoff wins than most players in NFL history have ever had, and they'll have a great shot to add more in 2025. Let's take a look at what K.C.'s 2022 draftees have brought to the table throughout their first three seasons. CB Trent McDuffie: 43 career starts, two-time All-Pro. DE George Karlaftis: 44 career starts, 24.5 sacks. WR Skyy Moore: 43 receptions, touchdown catch in Super Bowl LVII. S Bryan Cook: 30 career starts, three interceptions. LB Leo Chenal: 32 career starts, 160 total tackles. CB Joshua Williams: 12 career starts, 18 passes defensed. CB Jaylen Watson: 38 games played, six passes defensed. RB Isiah Pacheco: 2,075 rushing yards, 15 total touchdowns. CB Nazeeh Johnson: 27 games played, three passes the to see embedded media. Eagles OL Darian Kinnard won his third consecutive Super Bowl
The Chiefs weren't able to three-peat, but one of their former players was. Eagles offensive lineman Darian Kinnard won his third consecutive Super Bowl ring. Kinnard played in none of the three Super Bowls as he was inactive for two, including Sunday's game, and on the practice squad for the other. But he still took part in the celebrations and won the rings. The Chiefs made Kinnard a fifth-round pick in 2022. He played in one game as a rookie and then spent 2023 on the Chiefs' practice squad, seeing no action. He signed a futures contract with the Eagles last January and played two games with one start — the Week 18 win over the Giants — this season. The Eagles made Kinnard inactive for 14 regular-season games and all four postseason games. Former Pro Bowl linebacker Ken Norton Jr. also won three consecutive Super Bowls, winning back-to-back to with the Cowboys in 1992 and 1993 and then going to the 49ers, where he won a third consecutive. Kinnard, though, won his three in a row in his first three seasons. Norton's career began in 1988. Kinnard told Paul Schwartz of The New York Post that he keeps his Super Bowl rings in a safety deposit box. 'I guess I can say I'm kind of spoiled when it comes to that,' Kinnard told Schwartz.

Eagles lineman wins 3rd consecutive Super Bowl title
The Kansas City Chiefs failed to capture their third consecutive Super Bowl title on Sunday, but there was one player that added a ring to his hand for the third straight time. Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Darian Kinnard was the one who hit the jackpot. He served as the backup to tackle Lane Johnson, and with the team's Super Bowl LIX win, Kinnard won his third consecutive ring. Kinnard spent the last two seasons with the Chiefs and earned rings from their Super Bowl wins in 2022 and 2023. With the Eagles' win, he became the second player in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowl titles. The other was former linebacker Ken Norton Jr., according to On3 Sports. Norton played during the Dallas Cowboys' back-to-back title reign in the 1992 and 1993 seasons, then won his third with the San Francisco 49ers in 1994. The lineman talked to the New York Post before his pursuit of another ring. Kinnard said he was "spoiled" when it came to his winning ways. Kinnard, 25, was a standout offensive lineman at Kentucky before he decided to turn pro. The Chiefs selected him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He made one appearance for the Chiefs in his rookie season and none in his sophomore season. Kinnard was assigned to the Chiefs' practice squad during the 2023 season, and the Eagles signed him on Feb. 20, 2024. The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22 to win the franchise's second Super Bowl title. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Youngstown born NFL player could win 3rd Super Bowl ring in a row
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN)- An NFL offensive lineman could win his third Super Bowl ring in a row on Sunday. Darian Kinnard could achieve this with two different teams who happen to be competing against each other on Sunday. Kinnard, 25, is an offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles. He won championship rings with the opposing team this weekend: the Kansas City Chiefs. Kinnard was born in Youngstown and graduated from Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland. He then played college football at the University of Kentucky and was selected by the Chiefs with the 145th pick in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Kinnard won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2023. In 2024, he won a championship ring as a member of the Chiefs practice squad. Kinnard signed with the Eagles last offseason. Will Kinnard win his third ring in a row this weekend? It remains to be seen. Kinnard hopes to be the first NFL player since Ken Norton Jr. to win Super Bowl championships in three consecutive seasons for two different teams. Norton Jr. won two Super Bowls as a member of the Dallas Cowboys and one with the San Francisco 49ers in the 1990s. WKBN compiled a list of all the NFL Super Bowl players who were born in the Youngstown, Ohio area. Chad Krispinky also spoke with Cardinal Mooney graduate and safeties coach Donald D'Alesio for the Chiefs ahead of the highly anticipated game. The kick-off of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, February 9 on Fox Youngstown (WYFX). Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. A former Wildcat is headed to this year's Super Bowl
One Kentucky football alumni is set to take part in this year's Super Bowl. With the Philadelphia Eagles taking down the Washington Commanders, Kentucky football alumni Darian Kinnard is headed to this year's Super Bowl. The former Wildcat offensive lineman played in Lexington from 2018-2021. Through his four years, he appeared in 44 games across the offensive line for Kentucky. Kinnard is unlikely to play in the Super Bowl, as he's a backup offensive guard for Philadelphia. However, with starting center Cam Jurgens continuing to play through injury, there is a path to playing time for the former Wildcat. Ironically, Kinnard and the Eagles are set to take on the team that originally drafted him: the Kansas City Chiefs. The offensive lineman was taken in the fifth round (145th overall) of the 2022 NFL draft. Kinnard played sparingly in Kansas City, appearing in just six special teams snaps and failing to record a single snap on the offensive line. He'd go on to win the Super Bowl with the Chiefs despite not being active, taking home a ring against his future employers. The Chiefs took home a 38-35 win in Super Bowl LVII, Kinnard got his ring, and Kansas City cut him. Kinnard spent the 2023-23 season without a home before landing in Philadelphia after a strong preseason. He played all 68 offensive snaps in week 18, and is now set for a shot at another ring on February 9.
