Eagles lineman wins 3rd consecutive Super Bowl title
Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Darian Kinnard was the one who hit the jackpot. He served as the backup to tackle Lane Johnson, and with the team's Super Bowl LIX win, Kinnard won his third consecutive ring.
Kinnard spent the last two seasons with the Chiefs and earned rings from their Super Bowl wins in 2022 and 2023. With the Eagles' win, he became the second player in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowl titles. The other was former linebacker Ken Norton Jr., according to On3 Sports.
Norton played during the Dallas Cowboys' back-to-back title reign in the 1992 and 1993 seasons, then won his third with the San Francisco 49ers in 1994.
The lineman talked to the New York Post before his pursuit of another ring. Kinnard said he was "spoiled" when it came to his winning ways.
Kinnard, 25, was a standout offensive lineman at Kentucky before he decided to turn pro. The Chiefs selected him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He made one appearance for the Chiefs in his rookie season and none in his sophomore season.
Kinnard was assigned to the Chiefs' practice squad during the 2023 season, and the Eagles signed him on Feb. 20, 2024.
The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22 to win the franchise's second Super Bowl title.

Second-round pick Tyler Shough replaced Spencer Rattler in the second half of the New Orleans Saints' 27-13 defeat by the Los Angeles Chargers and had a 54-yard touchdown pass and a 'pick six' in an up-and-down display. Although not technically a rookie, JJ McCarthy will play his first season with the Minnesota Vikings after a knee injury cost him the entire campaign last year. McCarthy had a tear in his eye before his first game in 364 days, where he led one solid 13-play drive in what could be his only action before the NFL season opener. A comedy of errors for the Cowboys A messy first Dallas Cowboys game for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer culminated with even Pro Bowl wide receiver CeeDee Lamb getting a flag - despite not even being on the field. Lamb was on the sidelines for the defeat against the Los Angeles Rams but strayed almost onto the field and was hit by an official racing down the touchline. That led to Lamb not only taking a big hit but also Dallas getting one of 11 flags in the game, which cost them 83 yards and angered the new man in charge. "I hope the guy's OK. But we have to be better than that," Schottenheimer said. "CeeDee knows better. We know better." Dallas, who have star defender Micah Parsons watching on despite requesting a trade away from the team, will hope that comedy of errors is not a sign of things to come this season. Can he show more upside than Joey Blount? That is the question. After one game, he is proving his worth. CB Darren Hall Hall had an interception and almost picked off a second pass. He offers special teams play and is good in the slot. It is going to be tough to make the roster this year, but he certainly helped his case.
