Channel 9's Dave Faherty spoke with a witness who said a gunman fired from a wood line above the home. Deputies are looking into the possibility the gunmen walked in from the road. The FBI, State Bureau of Investigation and Catawba County sheriff's deputies were back at the scene Monday morning. Shawn Patrick Hood, 58, was shot and killed inside the home at the party that had people as young as 16 years old. There was a coverage charge for people without identification, according to a Snapchat post. Investigators said multiple weapons were used in the shooting and as many as 80 rounds were fired. No one has been charged in connection with the shooting. One of the shooting victims spoke with Faherty. Some people at the party returned fire possibly saving lives, said Quentin Malone, who still had a bullet lodged in his ankle. 'I was trying to run and get out but since there was so many people, people were just falling over each other and tripping over each other,' Malone said. 'I just, honestly, I froze. I didn't know what else to do. And if there weren't other people there that started firing back, I honestly think it would have been way worse than what it was.' Alcohol Law Enforcement is involved in the investigation and agents are looking into the possibility of people drinking underage. Investigators are expected to be at the scene until Wednesday. The FBI is asking anyone who has video, pictures , or tips about the shooting to contact them here. VIDEO: Deputies respond to mass shooting at party in Catawba County

Police are looking for three suspects after a shootout in Iredell County on Thursday. Three suspects are wanted following a shootout just south of Statesville that police believe began with a case of road rage. Now, police have identified Antonieo Yurome Clark, 18, Noel Ethan Alexander, 25, and Chakrisis La'Richard Ramseur, 24, as suspects. All three suspects are from Statesville. When police said when they first arrived on the scene, they identified the suspect and began conducting interviews and investigating. Homes, cars struck in Iredell County shootout

Some residents in Iredell County said their homes were struck during a shootout that deputies said may have started over a case of road rage. Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene off Interstate 77, just south of Statesville, on Thursday. Channel 9's Dave Faherty was first on the scene at Wall Street, where a large police presence could be seen. Two cars were seen with damage in the area, but one eyewitness said that as many as five people were involved in the shooting. State troopers told Faherty that one of the weapons used in the shootout was an assault rifle. READ: Investigators search for road rage suspects One woman took Faherty around her home and showed him where bullets struck her residence. She said there were children in her home at the time of the shootout. She said they dropped to the floor to duck for cover as shots rang out for about three minutes. Thursday's police presence could be seen from Chopper 9 Skyzoom as deputies and state troopers attempted to locate the suspects. It is possible that the suspects got rides out of the area just before deputies arrived, the sheriff said. Channel 9 checked over the jail and has not yet seen any arrests. No additional details have been made available. This is a developing story. Check back with for updates. WATCH: Investigators search for road rage suspects

State says Burke County train cabins can't be used for permanent housing

The North Carolina Department of Insurance said revamped train car cabins being sold in Hildebran can't be used to live in full time, according to Burke County. Channel 9's Dave Faherty spoke with Innovative Bridge Company, the company trying to market these unconventional units to people recovering from Hurricane Helene. 'I think it's absolutely awesome,' Jade Cramer, an Innovative Bridge Company employee said. 'We are doing something that is helping the community…helping people who have lost so much, and I think it's one of the coolest things I've been able to be a part of.' Channel 9 has extensively covered the progress in Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene devastated the mountain region in September. SPECIAL SECTION >> Hurricane Helene Stories Burke County Building Inspectors described the cabins as a temporary housing space, noting the 40-foot long, two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabins lack a kitchen. 'They are not up to standards of a manufactured home and don't meet state building codes,' inspectors said. However, workers at the Innovative Bridge Company said the $5,500 cabins can be used for a variety of things, including temporary bridges for areas impacted by Helene. On their website, the Innovative Bridge Company says they're 'great for hunting and fishing camps.' 'It is different,' Rick Hollifield, a visitor to the area, said. 'Make a great construction office or anything you choose to make out of it.' The company says it encourages people interested in buying them to check with their county first before making a purchase. 'We've had a ton of interest in them,' Kramer said. 'We're trying to keep as many of them up here as we can, but they are just going out as quickly as we get them up here and get them cleaned.'
