Freightliner Boosts Booking Speed and Accuracy with Automation from Tideworks and Decisions
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tideworks Technology Inc. (Tideworks), a leading provider of full-service terminal operating system (TOS) solutions, announced today the successful deployment of an advanced integration with Freightliner Ltd. (Freightliner), the UK's largest maritime intermodal logistics operator. The integration enhances planning by reducing manual processes and improving consistency, speed and accuracy across Freightliner's UK terminals. These enhancements support scalable growth and better asset utilization. The solution connects Freightliner's existing use of Tideworks' Intermodal Pro® (IPRO) intermodal rail TOS with Decisions, a third-party, low-code automation platform engineered for AI-enhanced decision making, to enable intelligent, rule-based automation of rail booking and planning across Freightliner's network of UK terminals. 'This integration marks a great step forward in Freightliner's digital evolution,' said Thomas Rucker, president of Tideworks Technology. 'By streamlining complex rail bookings with intelligent automation, we're helping Freightliner reduce planning time, improve data accuracy and increase terminal throughput. As a strategic technology partner, we're focused on delivering scalable, future-ready solutions that empower our customers to operate more efficiently and make faster, data-driven decisions.' The deployment also leverages Tideworks' Business Rules Engine and enhanced Planning API to send planning data to Decisions. The integration then applies terminal-specific rule sets to automate booking assignments to virtual railcars, streamlining previous manual processes. It also enhances system communication and improves data accuracy across Freightliner's network. 'Our team worked closely with Tideworks to roll out this integration across our network of UK terminals, and we've already seen improvements in planning speed and consistency,' said Chris Cavanagh, terminal systems manager at Freightliner Ltd. 'We see Tideworks as a strategic partner in our modernization efforts and look forward to continued collaboration to adopt emerging technologies that improve planning workflows and operational performance.' Freightliner has partnered with Tideworks since 2008. This new project with Decisions highlights the increasing demand for adaptable, integration-ready systems in rail logistics. The integration rolled out across Freightliner's UK terminals in 2024. With cloud-capable infrastructure, evolving data tools and support for API-based integration, the implementation reflects Tideworks' focus on building scalable digital foundations to support long-term operational goals. When the couple asks them not to shoot them, Salazar instructs one of his soldiers to kill them with her knife. RELATED: Read our recap of the previous episode of The Equalizer , 'Acceptance' The Equalizer, 'Decisions' Dante and Robyn are in the kitchen talking about the first time they met when a couple knocks on their door. Their neighbors from down the road step into the cabin and start looking around. To protect themselves, Dante and Robyn give them fake names. The neighbors refuse to leave and start drinking their way. Meanwhile, Mel (Liza Lapira) and Harry (Adam Goldberg) look deeper into Salazar and his role on the global stage. That is when Harry begins to wonder how long they will keep equalizing and putting their lives in danger. When Mel asks if this has anything to do with her PTSD, Harry tells her it's about survival. Harry wants to text Robyn about Salazar, but Mel stops him. She thinks Dante planned this getaway to propose to Robyn, but Harry doesn't think so because he believes Dante would have talked to him about it first. At that moment, a notification pops up on his computer, letting them know Salazar arrived near Robyn and Dante's cabin that morning. Now is the time to let them know what's happening. RELATED: On Location: Please Touch Museum on Abbott Elementary Danger Is Here The Equalizer Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint) is hiding her good pans when Dee (Laya DeLeon Hayes) walks into the kitchen that morning because Curtis is coming over to cook for her. Even though her friends want to get backup, Robyn says there's no time because they have Dante, and she is going to trade herself in for him. Curtis asks Aunt Vi to move in with him, and for a second, she is unable to give him an answer. Meanwhile, Dee and her favorite author talk about the multiple rejections she received because of her arrest. When she mentions she got into UCLA, but she is still set on the social justice program at Howard, the author asks her what she is willing to do to fight the 'no' she got. She asks what Dee would tell the acceptance board, and Dee proceeds to tell her about her family history and why social justice is so important to her. That is when Mel and Harry start shooting at the police station. They kill the army, but Salazar shoots Dante and runs away before they can get him. Robyn and Mel go after Salazar. When Robyn and Salazar run out of bullets, they start physically fighting. Salazar has a knife that Robyn manages to steal from him and uses to stab him. When she arrives back at the station to check on Dante, he gets down on one knee, pulls out a ring, and asks her to marry him in front of Mel and Harry. But before Robyn can give him an answer, Dante passes out. At home, Curtis tells Aunt Vi that he isn't trying to pressure her into moving in with him but is ready for the next step. The Equalizer: Queen Latifah's CBS series wraps up final fifth season with romantic ending
CBS's The Equalizer came to a close with an emotionally resonant and action-filled finale on Sunday, following the network's decision not to renew the series for a sixth season. The final episode, 'Decisions,' doubled as the series finale, concluding the five-season run of Queen Latifah's portrayal of Robyn McCall. The episode brought closure to long-running storylines while centring on McCall and Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles), whose relationship evolved into a proposal under dramatic circumstances. After escaping a deadly ambush by antagonist Angel Salazar (Juan Javier Cardenas), Dante proposes to Robyn—only to collapse and require emergency surgery. He survives, and Robyn ultimately accepts his proposal. The finale balanced romance and suspense, with side plots involving Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes) and Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint) finding resolution. Delilah's university aspirations receive unexpected support when author Kara, played by Natasha Rothwell, offers to appeal her Howard University application. Meanwhile, Aunt Vi contemplates a move with Captain Curtis Martin (Christopher B. Duncan), hinting at new beginnings. Elsewhere, allies Harry (Adam Goldberg) and Mel (Liza Lapira) come to Robyn's aid just in time, helping her defeat Salazar in a final confrontation. With Salazar gone, Robyn's world steadies, allowing room for celebration. In the final scenes, the McCall household is filled with loved ones for Robyn and Dante's engagement party, bringing the story full circle with themes of family, purpose and healing. The series leaves each character with renewed direction, including Delilah's academic future and Aunt Vi's personal growth. Queen Latifah's performance earned widespread praise throughout the series, and she recently won the 2025 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series. While CBS's cancellation ends the show's on-air journey, fans are left with a satisfying resolution. Latifah previously thanked fans and the production team via Instagram, stating, 'The Equalizer blew past every dream we had for it. Having the opportunity to do this for five seasons honestly feels surreal.'
