Cheesecake gets recalled from Target in Florida, California, Texas and other states
One lot of Target store brand cheesecake has been recalled by the manufacturer for an issue that can range from annoyance to fatal, depending on the consumer. The FDA-posted recall notice from Dessert Holdings, which made Favorite Brand Gourmet New York Style Cheesecake for Target, says Dessert Holdings got a complaint that the cheesecake had pecans, but the label didn't list pecans among the allergens. That's a minor problem unless you're one of those folks with a pecan allergy, who 'run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.' The cheesecake were sold as two pieces, weighing 6 ounces and in plastic clam shell containers. The recalled lot, No. 25028A1 000039133 with UPC code No. 0 85239 09690 1, went to distribution centers in Florida, Texas, California, Iowa and Ohio. If you have this cheesecake and there's no chance anyone with a pecan allergy will eat it, carry on as normal. Otherwise, return it to the store for a full refund or call Target Guest Relations, 800-444-0680. Direct questions about this recall to Dessert Holdings by calling 720-766-9060, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern time or emailing marketing@

Target Just Issued an Immediate Recall on This Beloved Bakery Find—Here's What We Know
Fans of Favorite Day Gourmet New York-Style Cheesecake are in for a rude awakening as Dessert Holdings, LLC has recalled the popular treat due to a mislabeling issue. According to a press release shared on March 19, the recall was initiated upon the discovery of pecans in the fan-favorite cheesecake while tree nuts of any kind were not disclosed on the label. As per the press release, the recalled Favorite Day Gourmet New York-Style Cheesecake was sold at Target stores in California, Florida, Iowa, Ohio and Texas between the dates of February 14 and March 7, 2025. 😋😋 🍳🍔 While product images have been provided here for convenience, customers who believe they may have the cheesecake in question in their possession can look out for lot code 25028A1 000039133 and UPC 0 85239 09690 1, each of which can be found on the side of the packages plastic clamshell. Popular Target Bakery Item Recalled Across 5 States
Dessert Holdings, LLC has recalled a popular Target Favorite Day bakery item due to mislabeling. The Favorite Day Gourmet New York-Style Cheesecake has been recalled because the cheesecake contains pecans, but the packaging does not disclose that it contains tree nuts, one of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration's (FDA) required labels. The recall was initiated on March 20 after the manufacturer received a customer complaint about the mislabeling. However, there have been no illnesses or allergic reactions reported at this time. The recalled Favorite Day Gourmet New York-Style Cheesecake was sold at Target stores in California, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, and Texas between Feb. 14, 2025, and March 7, 2025. You can verify if you have the recalled cheesecake by looking for the lot code 25028A1 000039133 and UPC 0 85239 09690 1 on the side of the plastic clamshell. You can find product images in the recall press release. No other Favorite Day products or bakery items are impacted by this recall. If you have this product, and have a pecan or tree nut allergy or sensitivity, you should not consume the cheesecake as it can cause serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. Instead, you should throw the recalled cheesecake away or return it to Target for a full refund. However, if you do not have a pecan or tree nut allergy or sensitivity, you technically don't have to do anything about the recall. The Favorite Day cheesecake was only recalled for a package labeling error, not because the dessert is inherently unsafe. So, if you don't have tree nut allergies or sensitivities, the cheesecake is safe for you to consume. If you have any health-related questions, you should contact your healthcare provider.
