Cop on a Rooftop raises $1.2M for Special Olympics Illinois
ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Law enforcement officers stood on top of Dunkin' Donuts' rooftops across the state on Friday to raise money for an important cause. Cop on a Rooftop is part of an effort to raise money for the Special Olympics Illinois and helps to ensure that each athlete can compete at no cost. Oberheim Baseball tournament held to honor fallen officer This year, the event raised $1.2 million. It's their largest fundraiser of the year. From 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, law enforcement officers stood atop Dunkin' locations in the state, to rally communities in support of their local Special Olympics athletes. In Illinois, more than 350 Dunkin' locations participated in the fundraiser. This year marks the 22nd year of the event. Since the program began, nearly $10 million has been raised in Illinois. ‘My bank account history is all Dunkin, Dunkin, Dunkin.' Coffee chain hosts 75th anniversary celebration at first shop
The owner of the Quincy shop and chair of the 'It's a great pride that we are here today to celebrate our 75th year anniversary,' Carvalho said. Advertisement The location opened in 1948 under the name 'Open Kettle.' It was renamed 'Dunkin' Donuts' in May 1950, according to the company. Carvalho's father became a franchisee in 1979 and the Quincy location has stayed in the family ever since, Carvalho said. 'When [my father] was ready to retire, he sat my brother and I down and said, 'Hey, I'm retiring. What do you guys want to do?' And that was a no-brainer,' Carvalho said. 'We wanted to continue in the family business ... I loved it from day one.' Carvalho said that Dunkin' has changed 'a lot' since he became a franchisee. 'Our menu has changed ... We brought in all the digital stuff, all the stuff we need to stay relevant, but we're always true to our core values.' A rainy morning wasn't about to deter people from a shot at 75 free medium coffees. 'I only drink Dunkin',' said Christine Corbitt, of Braintree, as her 5-year-old granddaughter Sage bounced in line next to her. Corbitt said she's ecstatic to get free coffee for 75 days, as she picks up a medium hot caramel with skim milk daily. 'My bank account history is all Dunkin, Dunkin, Dunkin,' Corbitt said with a laugh. Kyle Thorne, 26, and her father Rob, of Hingham, went to the event together after Kyle said she saw a Reddit post about the anniversary. 'I've just always grown up around Dunkin', so it's really nostalgic for me,' Thorne said. Thorne recalled stumbling upon a Dunkin' while working in Morocco for the Peace Corps. Jordon Hudson accused of hijacking Bill Belichick commerical in a bikini to ‘hard launch' relationship
Dunkin' Donuts' star-studded Super Bowl commercial wasn't the only ad featuring Bill Belichick that girlfriend Jordon Hudson allegedly tried to score a role in. Former ESPN personality Pablo Torre alleged Friday on his 'Pablo Torre Finds Out' program that the 24-year-old Hudson bombarded the crew on the set of a commercial last summer for Underdog Fantasy, the home of Belichick's podcast, and made them film a version that featured her in a bikini by the pool with Belichick, 73. '… Taping for the actual commercial was done by then. Friday's revelation comes a month after Torre broke the news that Hudson used her power to force her way into the Dunkin' commercial, which featured the coach and was centered around actor Ben Affleck. Torre's investigation provided a timeline of events and other alleged 'famous stories' of Hudson acting controlling and self-serving. 'While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,' Carolina Athletics said. 'Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick's personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.' Torre, who claimed Belichick's family is concerned and that they are digging into Hudson, stood by his reporting in his own statement. 'The University of North Carolina can choose to describe or change its position on Jordon Hudson's involvement however it wishes, following the publication of our episode,' Torre said. 'We requested comment and filed dozens of FOIA requests that were not satisfied. And we stand by the specific reporting in our episode, which came from the highest levels of the football program.' Last month, a viral video showed Hudson on the field with Belichick at a UNC practice. Belichick's disastrous 'CBS Sunday Morning' interview followed, in which Hudson interrupted it and stopped the coach from answering a question about how the couple met. The couple and UNC have been dealing with a media firestorm since.

Jordon Hudson ‘forced' her way in Dunkin' Super Bowl ad with Bill Belichick
Many were surprised to see Bill Belichick, let alone his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, in Dunkin' Donuts' commercial for Super Bowl 2025 in February. The former cheerleader at Bridgewater State University, who's seemingly acting as Belichick's representative, 'forced' her way into appearing in the Dunkin's Super Bowl ad, according to Page Six. 'She forced her way in… but Bill saw it as a way for her to get paid,' a sports source told Page Six. 'People said they've never seen anything like it.' Advertisement The coffee company's ad for the big game centered around Ben Affleck and his brother, fellow actor Casey — and featured a cast of Boston stars including 'Succession' actor Jeremy Strong and comedian Druski. Hudson and Belichick wore matching Dunkin' tracksuits in the commercial, and she didn't have any lines, unlike the coach. '[Hudson is] the person who you need to go through to book Bill Belichick for a Super Bowl commercial or for the other commitments he has as a multi-platform personality. She's the gateway,' Torre said on his 'Pablo Torre Finds Out' podcast in February. 'So in this case, what I have been told reliably, is that Jordon happened to then use that power to be in the commercial as well.' Hudson stopped the interview when CBS' Tony Dokoupil asked Belichick about how they met. Since then, multiple reports have said Hudson is involved heavily in Belichick's career and business — and that she's acting as his publicist. Getty Images In a statement on Wednesday, Belichick denied that Hudson was trying to control his CBS interview, and instead explained that she was 'doing her job.' Hudson's exact role is unclear. She reportedly was behind the collapse of a nearly done deal between UNC and NFL Films to have the football program be the subject of 'Hard Knocks,' a multi-part docuseries that usually follows NFL teams. Hudson 'demanded' to be an executive producer, and told execs to treat her with respect, or they wouldn't get to use the coach's 'IP,' according to Page Six. Hudson referred to herself as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions in a December 2024 email to North Carolina officials, per a separate report by The Athletic, which said it was not able to identify any company registered under that name.
