Sarawak Fire Dept: Six injured as car skids off road near Kampung Gua, Sri Aman
KUCHING, May 30 — Six individuals sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road near Kampung Gua along Jalan Serian-Sri Aman earlier today. According to a statement from the Sarawak Operations Centre of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (Bomba), the accident involved a Perodua Axia compact car. The victims included a 15-year-old female teenager, three adult males aged 21, 32, and 60, and two adult females aged 30 and 56. All victims only sustained minor injuries and were not trapped in the vehicle following the accident. They managed to exit the car unaided, without the use of any rescue equipment. 'Upon the rescue team's arrival at the scene, it was confirmed that a single-vehicle accident had occurred involving a compact vehicle (Perodua Axia),' the statement read. JBPM further reported that three of the injured were transported to Hospital Sri Aman via Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), while one adult male and one female were conveyed by Ministry of Health (KKM) ambulances. The emergency call was received at 7.16am, and the operation was concluded at 7.50am. The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) also responded to the incident. — The Borneo Post

Wedding joy turns tragic as cousins killed in crash
PENAMPANG: Two cousins died and another was injured when their car veered off the road and plunged into a ravine along Jalan Penampang-Tambunan near Kampung Moyog last night. The 8pm crash claimed the lives of the driver, Steve Oyong, 54, and a passenger, Rayner Jentolmin@Condrad, 49. The only survivor, Maxwell Minor, 29, was taken to hospital for treatment. They were returning to Kampung Madsiang after attending a relative's wedding in Tambunan. Penampang Fire and Rescue Station chief Zeno Tingalan said an emergency call was received at 8.15pm. "Nine personnel, along with a fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit, were deployed to the location, about 28km from the station," he said in a statement today. He said the crash involved an Isuzu Bighorn, which skidded and plunged into a ravine. "The team retrieved all three victims. Two were confirmed dead at the scene, while the injured man was given initial treatment by EMRS before being sent to hospital," he said. Zeno said the bodies were handed over to the police for further action, and the operation concluded at 10.37pm.

Lintas Fire and Rescue Station Chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said they received a distress call at 11.12am, prompting the deployment of 10 personnel with a fire engine and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, assisted by 14 more firefighters and an additional engine and EMRS unit from the Kota Kinabalu station. 'Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim trapped underneath the lorry and used special rescue tools to extricate the body, which was then handed over to the Health Ministry personnel for further action,' she said. In PENAMPANG, a 42-year-old was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car near Kg Meruntum, Putatan, along the Kota Kinabalu-Papar road. Advertisement Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said preliminary investigations showed the motorcycle was suspected of travelling against the flow of traffic from Kinarut towards Putatan when the collision happened at 4.20am. The car was driven by a 55-year-old man heading from Petagas towards Papar. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The remains has been sent for post mortem. Brahmaputra Infrastructure shares surge 13% after securing Rs 91.49 crore EPC contract in Arunachal Pradesh

As of 11:12 AM, the shares were trading 9.85% higher at Rs 56.10. The company, through its joint venture Brahmaputra–PKV JV , has signed an agreement with Telecommunication Consultants India Limited (TCIL), a Government of India enterprise. The contract, valued at ₹91,49,06,101 (₹91.49 crore), is for the construction of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in two locations in Arunachal Pradesh — Aalo Village in West Siang district and Ziro II Village in Lower Subansiri district. The project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode and is expected to be completed within 24 months. This contract is seen as a significant milestone for Brahmaputra Infrastructure, marking its expanding footprint in northeastern India's infrastructure development sector. Myanmar worker dies in freak mishap
MELAKA: A construction worker from Myanmar died after he was trapped in a sand pump machine at a housing construction site in Pulau Gadong, here today. Melaka Tengah Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Mohd Ismail Harun said they received an emergency call at 11.56 am, and a team of firefighters, along with a Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team rushed to the scene. "Firefighters arrived about 10 minutes later and found a 26-year-old male victim stuck in the sand pump while carrying out construction work. "He was pronounced dead at the scene and efforts to extricate the body are still ongoing," he said in a statement. He said the operation to extricate the victim is being assisted by the Cheng Fire and Rescue Station, which deployed a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and eight personnel to the scene.
