ITV This Morning star shares update after being rushed to hospital following 'nightmare' The presenter has taken to social media to share the 'nightmare'endured while competing in the famous Yukon 1000 boat race A star from This Morning has been left feeling 'gutted' after a 'nightmare' event led to an emergency hospital dash. The ITV morning programme has seen quite the activity among its team, with psychologist Emma Kenny celebrating the arrival of her fourth child at 52. In addition, the show's regular hosts from Monday to Thursday, Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, are gearing up for their yearly summer hiatus. While Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary will continue to helm the Friday shows, a variety of well-loved personalities are set to fill in for Ben and Cat. Viewers can expect to see Olivia Atwood, Emma Willis, Rylan Clark, Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett, Craig Doyle, Sian Welby, and Andi Peters taking turns at the helm, reports the Manchester Evening News. The former X Factor singer told his fans that 'sometimes you fail' (Image: Instagram: @jakequickenden ) Article continues below Jake Quickenden, who first found fame on The X Factor, has become a familiar face on This Morning, often presenting segments with the public around Britain. He has embraced this role, making it distinctly his own through his engaging interactions. However, on Saturday (July 12), Jake, also known for his stint on I'm A Celebrity, took to Instagram to share that he had sustained an injury during the gruelling Yukon 1000 boat race. Jake and his fitness trainer companion Matty Green had to pull out of the arduous competition when Jake injured his wrist. Sharing his disappointment and determination, Jake posted: "It was fun while it lasted, I can say was the most amazing, scary and utterly bonkers 36 hours I've had in my life. Already so p***ed off ready to try again next year. "Sometimes the universe tells you something isn't right and this time I listened and we had to get out, I wanted to get home to my kids and wife, I lost my dad young and it affects me everyday I didn't want that for my lads," Jake shared. Despite initially making a strong start, Jake recounted how their challenge took a turn when they were hit by a wave and capsized. "I couldn't get my spray deck off and was under water what seemed like 3 minutes when I came up I was pretty panicked and we had to swim the boat back to the side luckily we wasn't in the middle or it could have been bad, got the water out, the boat got dry and managed to set off again after losing about an hour, just when we got moving the pedal of the boat snapped and we couldn't turn left." Jake then began to question whether they were meant to continue. "This is when I was like is this meant to be, I believe in all that stuff and felt like we were being told to get out, we didn't listen we fixed the boat but by this time the storm had hit and we needed to camp to shelter from the wind and rain and the lake which if we hadn't have gone in we would have been off was now too dangerous to paddle on and I'm so glad we don't risk trying. "We camped bear spray in hand and woke up around 3.30am after now losing 8 hours of time. We packed up got in the boat and wanted to push on we finished the 17k of the lake and we was on the river and ready to push on and try and make the cut off time, as we was celebrating making the river, we hit a boiling eddy that pulled us under and spat us out like nothing," he recounted. Jake Quickenden with fitness trainer Matty Green (Image: Instagram: @jakequickenden ) Jake went on: "We came up and was about to go down the river for I don't know how long ( which could have been bad) when out of nowhere again like it was meant to happen. Kyle and Mel, two American travellers who just happened to have finished fishing, jumped in the canoe and pulled us to the side. "They were honestly angels and I personally think they stopped something really bad from happening. We got dry and realised I had a pretty beat up wrist and a broken boat and after 4 bits of bad luck we should call it. Article continues below "So we called it and for me and matty that's a hard thing to do, we knew we probs wouldn't make the cut off time in Dawson, not with the boat and my wrist, and like I said something felt off like it's was trying to get us off that river everytime something went good something terrible brought us back down to earth." Acknowledging that 'sometimes you fail that's life', Jake expressed gratitude to his supporters for their 'love and support', revealing he had 'learnt more over 48 hours than ever before'. This Morning is on ITV1 weekdays at 10am and on ITVX

Former This Morning presenter 'dumped' by ITV after wild conspiracy rant left her cancelled
Emma Kenny was a regular presenting on This Morning before she was 'cancelled' for her outspoke views on the covid-19 pandemic - leaving her stuck for money and nearly losing her house. Emma Kenny, a former presenter on This Morning, took a new direction in her career after being 'cancelled' during the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier this week, she made headlines by revealing the birth of her fourth child at the age 52. Emma, a television psychologist, is already a mother to Tyde, 22, Evan, 20, and nearly two-year-old Etta Blue. She and her 34-year-old husband, Pete, have welcomed their newborn daughter. Emma shared a series of heartfelt Instagram posts announcing the arrival of baby Ella-Grey, writing: "Say hi Ella-Grey And then we were six! "Say hello Ella-Grey! This morning she entered the world with a very loud cry. The Royal Bolton hospital have been fantastic and ensured that we have both been looked after brilliantly." The arrival of Emma's baby comes after a challenging period in both her personal and professional life, the Mirror reports. Just a few weeks before giving birth, she experienced the sudden loss of her mum. Opening up about her grief, she stated: "I lost my mum suddenly a couple of weeks back, and it's really strange knowing that neither of my babies will get to know their grandparents…..they would have loved them as older my boys did before them." Years earlier, Emma claims she lost her presenting role on This Morning due to her controversial views on coronavirus. She revealed the fallout left her financially struggling, nearly costing her home as work dried up during lockdown. The mum-of-four posted a series of anti-lockdown tweets on X, formerly Twitter. Around that time, reports surfaced suggesting that ITV bosses were unhappy with her actions - claims that were denied at the time. Emma sparked controversy after publicly stating she would ignore government guidelines and advice on coronavirus safety in the lead-up to Christmas. She was slammed for tweeting: "I'm going to have parties, see my friends, invite EVERYONE around!" "I'm going to visit elderly neighbours and take cake. I'm not wearing a mask and I'm going to do what as a human I was born to do… socialise." Although the tweets were deleted, the TV personality was met with furious backlash. A source told the Mail on Sunday: "Those at the top put up with it for a few months but it got to the point where the backlash was too much." Addressing rumours about her absence from the daytime show, Emma shared on Twitter that she had recently signed a new contract with ITV. She told her followers: "Just to make it clear I've just signed a new contract with This Morning and count the staff and many presenters as friends. Thanks for the messages of support. Xxxxxx." And a spokesperson for This Morning revealed: "Emma Kenny is one of a host of expert contributors we continue to feature on the show." However, in a later interview with Johnny Seifert on the Secure The Insecure podcast, Emma revealed that she faced financial difficulties after being let go and even consulted a crisis manager. She said: "I was cancelled. So it wasn't a thing of, 'I might be.' It happened. And it's the reality of working in a field where there is a safe space that you are allowed to remain in. And if you step outside of that, there are consequences." The ordeal came at the worst time as her father had died by suicide just days earlier. Despite this, she returned to work as a freelancer six days later but soon after her contracts were getting cancelled after she spoke out. She continued: "I was also managing some of my family's struggles because people in my family just couldn't go back to work. I was helping manage that on a financial level. So there were all these things that were happening around me. And then COVID hit. "When I started to speak out, it was really difficult because I started to get all my contracts cancelled. And then my husband, who is a very lovely man, he also knew that I was the person that really brings the income in." "He works with me and he's amazing. Without him, I couldn't do what I do, but the point is it was me challenging our economic standard and I challenged it to the point where we nearly lost our home." Emma was advised by a PR consultant to issue an apology for her remarks, but she refused. Emma concluded: "I was told by a crisis manager to do things like take the vaccine live on TV. And I basically said that the consequence of that for me would be the end of my mental health. And also the end of my credibility as a human being for myself." Not everything was lost, as Emma shifted her focus to narrating true crime stories and launching her own YouTube channel, Emma Kenny True Crime. In a new post she opened up, revealing that she didn't think she could find happiness again after her father's tragic death. "When my dad took his life in 2019, I never thought I would be happy again, but in truth I couldn't have been more wrong, I've learnt we are more than simply built to withstand suffering, we are programmed to learn, and grow, and develop courage through it. I cannot change what happened but I can embrace the gifts that grief brought me," she wrote. Closing her post, she expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her during the difficult times. She said: "Thank you to all of you who have spent years supporting me. You stood beside me in the dark times and you gave me so many new career directions that these days I don't need invites off the MSM! Thank you, all of you, for so much more than you could possibly know xxx." Emma kept her fourth pregnancy private until announcing it last week, sharing a mirror selfie showing her baby bump and telling her fans: "Last show before I give birth! 9 months pregnant, quite happy to go into labour on stage….so any of you with health care qualifications at my Killer Couples, Liverpool Empire show tonight please be prepared!" "Back on stage in September…..but for now it's time for baby, 2 year old, filming YouTube and Facebook and going on a road trip to Italy the minute this babies fast track passport arrives! X," she continued.

This Morning star Emma Kenny, 52, gives birth to her fourth child weeks after family tragedy
ITV star Emma Kenny, 52, has welcomed her fourth child. The TV psychologist and podcaster who has appeared on This Morning, revealed the exciting news in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, explaining how her daughter's birth comes just weeks after she sadly lost her mother. Emma welcomed a daughter Etta-Blue in 2023 following ten years of struggling to fall pregnant with her husband Pete Skywalker. She is also mum to sons Tyde, 22, and Evan, 20, from a former marriage. Posting photos taken after the birth Emma gushed: 'Say hi Ella-Grey And then there were six!' 'This morning she entered the world with a very loud cry. The Royal Bolton hospital have been fantastic and ensured that we have both been looked after brilliantly.' Emma told her followers that she has been grieving her mother following her sudden death last month. 'I lost my mum suddenly a couple of weeks back, and it's really strange knowing that neither of my babies will get to know their grandparents…..they would have loved them as my boys did before them,' she wrote. The TV star lost her father in 2019 when he took his own life, after which she thought 'I never twould be happy again.' But she explained 'in truth I couldn't have been more wrong, I've learnt we are more than simply built to withstand suffering, we are programmed to learn, and grow, and develop courage through it. 'I cannot change what happened but I can embrace the gifts that grief brought me.' She added that her newborn 'has been lying on me all day, she latched on immediately and is as wonderful as I imagined she would be…..but like her sister…..I am blindsided that she is a girl.' 'So, now I have two very big boys of 20 and 22, and two tiny girls aged 1 day and 23 months.' Emma has been open about her feelings about being an older mother, admitting before the birth of her eldest daughter two years ago that she felt selfish having a third child at the age of 50 because it 'stole years away' from their relationship. While Emma cherishes parenthood, she admitted at the time that giving birth later in life will inevitably compromise the time she has with Etta as she grows into adulthood. She told New magazine: 'I felt a great deal of selfishness all the way up until giving birth. There are moments when I think, "I wish I could have another 20 years with Etta." 'I could beat myself up about it, but my best friend died at 43, so you don't always get the time that's promised to you.' Emma trained to become a psychologist after discovering her first husband had cheated on her with her best friend. She is now a TV true crime presenter and has her own YouTube channel called Emma Kenny True Crime.
