Vawda hails COAS' streak of achievements
Senator Faisal Vawda has said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has proven his capability at the international level with his streak of global achievements continuing "exactly as predicted". In a post on X, he said after India's worst-ever defeat in May confrontation and global embarrassment over tariffs, the US has declared India-sponsored BLA and Majeed Brigade as global terrorist organizations thanks to the efforts of the field marshal. "If only Pakistan had a democratic leader like the field marshal. There was no such leader before, there isn't one today, and none can be seen in the future," he added.

Senator demands FBR officer's dismissal over public mistreatment
Senator Faisal Vawda has strongly criticised a "Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officer over mistreatment of the public" and demanded the officer's immediate dismissal, not suspension. The senator's reaction came on viral video making rounds on social media depicting an official in Karachi traffic police uniform intercepting an unregistered vehicle bearing the FBR logo and no number plate. In a tweet shared on X, Vawda expressed disappointment that "neither the Prime Minister, nor the Finance Minister, nor the FBR Chairperson had yet taken action against the official". He noted he had maintained strong working relations with them for the country's progress. 'It must be made clear that suspension is not enough. This officer, who behaves like a tyrant with the very public he is paid to serve, must be dismissed from service,' the senator said, calling such conduct "unacceptable under any circumstances". Read: FBR to purchase new vehicles for field officers worth Rs6bn He further warned that if dismissal proceedings were not initiated before his return to Pakistan, he would raise the matter in the Senate Finance Committee — where he is a member — and summon the officer for accountability. The tweet came after a video circulated on social media showing Karachi traffic police stopping an unregistered vehicle bearing an FBR logo and no number plate. During the encounter, the driver lost his temper and behaved inappropriately with the traffic officers. Earlier, FBR decided to purchase 1,010 new vehicles worth over Rs 6 billion. According to official documents, FBR had issued a letter of intent to a company for the procurement, which was planned in two phases. An advance payment of Rs 3b was to be made for the first batch of 500 vehicles, covering the full cost of that phase. The remaining payment was to be made after the delivery of the first batch. The delivery of all 1,010 vehicles was scheduled between January and May 2025.

'COAS decisively responded to Indian propaganda'
Senator Faisal Vawda on Thursday said Pakistan responded to India's "baseless and cheap propaganda" with strength and clarity, just as it did in the past. "We responded to India's hostility before and we will do it again," he said while talking to a private TV channel. "Our competent army chief decisively responded to Indian propaganda." Vawda said suspension of airspace and trade with India dealt a blow to its economy. He said Reko Diq and mines and minerals initiatives reflected the army chief's vision, adding that these had unnerved the Indian leadership.

Vawda proposes multi-party confab for political unity
As India dialed up hostile rhetoric, Senator Faisal Vawda has proposed that the government convene a multi-party confab, involving leadership from all political parties, including PTI, to chalk out a national action plan and send a message to the international community that the entire political leadership is united. India, reeling from the Pahalgam rampage that left 26 tourists dead, has once again pointed finger at Pakistan – a familiar refrain in the diplomatic blame game that follows unrest in the restive Himalayan valley. Taking to microblogging platform X, Vawda stressed the need to close ranks, asserting, "Pakistan comes first, everything else follows. We are united". He urged the government to convene a multi-party meeting, involving leadership from all political parties, including PTI. "This will show to the world that political differences are insignificant when it comes to Pakistan, and that the entire nation and its communities stand united behind the armed forces and resolute against any external threats," he said. Warning against any hostile actions based on misinformation, Vawda cautioned India that any move rooted in "lies and deceit" would be met with a strong and potentially dangerous response, as has been the case in the past.

Faisal Vawda calls for national unity, PTI inclusion in NAP talks amid rising India tensions
Amid escalating tensions with India following the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, senior politician Senator Faisal Vawda has called for renewed national unity and the revival of the National Action Plan (NAP) to counter what he described as 'false propaganda' emanating from New Delhi. In a statement addressing the recent deterioration in bilateral relations, Vawda emphasised that Pakistan must present a united front. 'Pakistan comes first—everything else follows. We are united,' he said, urging the government to convene an all-parties hearing on NAP, including representation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to demonstrate internal consensus and solidarity with the armed forces. He stressed that a unified political stance would send a clear message to the international community that Pakistan is firm in its resolve and will not be influenced by external provocations or misinformation. Vawda's remarks come in the wake of India's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty following a deadly attack in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. While Pakistan has denied any involvement, the incident has heightened diplomatic strains. Pakistan said on Wednesday that it was concerned about the loss of tourists' lives in an attack in Anantnag district of the IIOJK.
