Kneecap Videos With Reported ‘Up Hamas' Chant and Call for Death of MPs Under Investigation By U.K. Counter-Terror Police

Counter-terror police in London have announced an investigation into videos of Belfast rap trio Kneecap allegedly calling for the death of elected British MPs and shouting 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah.' The update comes after a period of intense scrutiny on the band following the group's activity following their recent Coachella sets. At the end of their shows, Kneecap displayed messages on the war in Gaza, writing: 'Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. It is being enabled by the U.S. government who arm and fund Israel despite their war crimes. F–k Israel; free Palestine.' Artists such as Massive Attack, Pulp and Fontaines D.C. have since expressed support for the group in a new open letter. On Thursday (May 1), a spokesperson for London's Metropolitan Police said: 'On April 22, we were made aware of an online video believed to be from a music event in London in November 2024. Following this, we were made aware of a further video, believed to be from another music event in London in November 2023. Both videos were referred to the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit for assessment by specialist officers, who have determined there are grounds for further investigation into potential offenses linked to both videos. 'The investigation is now being carried out by officers from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command and inquiries remain ongoing at this time.' The band are yet to be charged with any offence. A video from the November 2024 concert appears to show one member of the band shouting 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah.' Both groups are ascribed terror status in the U.K., and it is an offense to express support for either under anti-terror laws. A second video from November 2023 later emerged of the group allegedly saying: 'The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP.' Earlier this week the band issued a statement on the remarks, offering an apology to the families of Sir David Amess and Jo Cox; both were killed while standing as MPs in separate incidents in 2021 and 2016, respectively. 'Let us be unequivocal: we do not, and have never, supported Hamas or Hezbollah. We condemn all attacks on civilians, always. It is never okay,' the group said. 'We know this more than anyone, given our nation's history. We also reject any suggestion that we would seek to incite violence against any MP or individual. Ever. An extract of footage, deliberately taken out of all context, is now being exploited and weaponised, as if it were a call to action.' A number of the band's shows have been cancelled by organizers in Germany following the remarks, and Cornwall's Eden Project dropped the band from the Eden Sessions concert program. Festivals such as Glastonbury have faced calls from politicians to remove the band from its lineup. In an open letter organised by Heavenly Recordings, Kneecap label, artists such as Massive Attack, Paul Weller and more say that 'in a democracy, no political figures or political parties should have the right to dictate who does and does not play at music festivals or gigs that will be enjoyed by thousands of people.' Billboard U.K. has approached Kneecap's team for comment on the news. Hear Bruce Springsteen's Rockabilly ‘Repo Man' From ‘Tracks II' Box Set

Bruce Springsteen has shared another unreleased preview from his upcoming Tracks II: The Lost Albums box set, this time unveiling 'Repo Man,' a track from the country-inspired Somewhere North of Nashville that he recorded at the same time as 1995's The Ghost of Tom Joad. As opposed to the 'socially conscious' and largely acoustic The Ghost of Tom Joad, the rockabilly rocker 'Repo Man' finds Springsteen having some honky tonk fun in the studio alongside a band that features Danny Federici, Garry Tallent, Gary Mallaber and pedal steel player Marty Rifkin, all of whom also played on Tom Joad. Those sessions completely overlap each other. I'm singing 'Repo Man' in the afternoon and 'The Line' at night. So the country record got made right along with The Ghost of Tom Joad,' Springsteen said in a statement. ''Streets of Philadelphia' got me connected to my socially conscious or topical songwriting. So that's where The Ghost of Tom Joad came from. But at the same time I had this country streak that was also running through those sessions and I ended up making a country record on the side.' In addition to 'Repo Man,' Somewhere North of Nashville also boasts 'Stand On It' and 'Janey Don't You Lose Heart,' two tracks that dated back to the Born in the U.S.A. sessions, as well as the title track and 'Tiger Rose,' another known outtake from the Tom Joad era. Tracks II, due out June 27, begins with L.A. Garage Sessions '83, which Springsteen recorded in the interim between Nebraska and Born in the U.S.A. The box set also features Streets of Philadelphia Sessions (with 'Blind Spot') and Inyo, a collection of songs from the road while promoting The Ghost of Tim Joad between 1995 and 1997. Perfect World spotlights several songs he wrote with longtime collaborator Joe Grushecky, the songs on Faithless were recorded in 2005 and 2006 for a film that has yet to be made, and Twilight Hours was created at the same time as Western Stars in 2018 and is essentially a companion album; Springsteen previously shared 'Faithless' from that latter LP. 'The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released,' Springsteen previously said in a statement. 'I've played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I'm glad you'll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.' Don't Blame Cardi B For Delay Of 2nd Album, Blame Her No-Show Features: ‘I Need Y'all To Hurry Up!'

Here's the thing. It's not Cardi B's fault that her long-in-the-works sophomore studio album hasn't been released yet. At least that's what Cardi said during an Instagram Live session with fans this week, in which the rapper claimed that the real hold-up is the feature verses she's waiting on from her guests. 'I really need these f–king features,' she said in a repost of the session. 'And it's like I'm not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it's like come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo! Y'all don't want to miss this opportunity. I'll sing this s–t myself! But I really need y'all and I need y'all to hurry up and I love y'all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.' That's What Tony Awards History Suggests In an X Spaces chat on March 31 Cardi said, 'the features on my album are really good… I don't have a lot of features but I'm working with artists, some that I have worked before and some that I haven't worked before. And the ones that I have not worked before, I feel like it's gonna really, really surprise y'all.' In the Insta chat this week, she admitted to fans that she often doesn't 'feel too confident' about a lot of things, but that she's 'very confident' about the unnamed follow-up to her smash 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy. 'These motherf–kers almost cried listening to my s–t,' she said of her team, noting that they told her there were 'no skips' on the album. 'It's iconic! This album is so good!' Cardi raved. 'I put my whole p–sy on it! I rapped with the bottom of my p–sy! So hurry up!' While Cardi did not specify who she is waiting on, she again encouraged them to get in the booth because, flipping her hair back and forth across her face she promised, 'this album is for the books!… Like, the production, the production, the feelings, the words, the rap… it's just, it's really there. Y'all not even understanding.' At press time no release date or track list for the untitled album had been announced. Ye Rants ‘I Hate J. Cole' & Claims Kendrick Lamar Fans ‘Don't Know About Rap'

Ye (formerly Kanye West) hasn't let up when it comes to repeatedly taking shots at J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. During a livestream on Wednesday (April 30), West claimed he hates Cole's music and disparaged the Compton rapper along with Lamar's fans. 'I hate J. Cole. It can't even be called music. I hate J. Cole,' Ye told Toronto rapper Top5. 'And it's something about both J. Cole and Kendrick that kinda, that leaves me sorta like — it reminds me of each other and s–t like that. It's just not that sauce to me.' More from Billboard Ye Says $3 Million Dispute With Producers Could Lead to 'Donda 2' Streaming Removal Bruce Springsteen Releases Haunted Song 'Faithless' From Upcoming 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums' Box Set Is Rose from 'Gypsy' the Greatest Role in Broadway History? That's What Tony Awards History Suggests Ye continued that if anyone in the room with him at that moment was a J. Cole fan, he didn't want them to tell him because otherwise, he'd devalue their opinion. The embattled rapper then turned his attention back to Lamar and took shots at any fan who would list the Pulitzer-winning rapper as their GOAT. 'Anybody that say Kendrick is one of their favorite rappers, don't know about rap, doesn't know about real rap,' he claimed. Billboard has reached out to J. Cole and Lamar's reps for comment. Cole and Kendrick have been frequent targets for Ye when he's been lashing out at his peers during recent rants on X. 'I DON'T LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC,' he wrote in March. 'HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM.' While there's plenty of history between Cole and West, the Chicago native — who has faced widespread criticism for his repeated hate speech — claimed in early April that Cole's music was for 'virgins' and he's 'hurting hip-hop.' 'I hate J Cole music so much,' West said matter-of-factly on X. 'It's like between Kendrick and J Cole I bet you industry plants asked J Cole to diss Drake then we would have been accosted with a J Cole Super Bowl commercial with no SZA song to save it… No one listens to J Cole after loosing [sic] their virginity.' Kanye also dissed J. Cole last year with his 'Like That' remix. 'Play J. Cole get the p—y dry,' he raps on the track. Cole has jabbed at West on multiple occasions in the past. He previously checked him on 2016's 'False Prophets' and 2019's 'Middle Child,' saying he feels West hasn't lived up to the billing of his legend status. However, following the repeated shots, Cole took the high road and showed Ye love during his set at Dreamville Fest 2025 in April, where he saluted West for clearing samples for him throughout his decorated career. 'I know n—-s feel a way about him right now, but I got love for [Ye] and I really appreciate him. He cleared all these f—ing samples for me,' he said. On the music front, Ye is staying busy. He uploaded his lost 2022 Donda 2 album to streaming services for the first time on Tuesday night (April 29). Bruce Springsteen's new song 'Faithless' from 'Tracks 2' is redemption with quiet baptism

The power of love can bring faith to the 'Faithless.' Bruce Springsteen debuted the title track from the unreleased 'Faithless' soundtrack for a never-made film, on Thursday, May 1. It's part of the upcoming 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums' box set, due Friday, June 27. In the song, a solitary figure is walking in twilight, faithless, as framed by gentle-yet-yearning acoustic and slide guitars. Redemption comes with a quiet baptism of love in this moving Western ballad. Listen to the track here. The 'Faithless' album is a solo work recorded over two weeks in Florida between the conclusion of the 'Devils & Dust' tour in November 2005 and the release of 'We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions' in April 2006. Producer Ron Aniello, touring E Street Band members Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell, Curtis King, Jr., Michelle Moore and Ada Dyer, and Springsteen family members Patti Scialfa and sons Evan Springsteen and Sam Springsteen assisted with the project. The album is described as 'a meditation on purpose, belief and acceptance — intended to accompany a film described as a 'spiritual Western.' ' in a Thursday news release. 'This was a really unusual collection of songs,' said Springsteen in a statement. 'You could recognize details and maybe a character or two. But for the most part, I just wrote atmospheric music that I thought would fit.' The 'Faithless' album includes four instrumental tracks. The song 'Faithless' is the third to be shared from 'Tracks II' following 'Rain in the River' from the lost album 'Perfect World,' and 'Blind Spot' from 'Streets of Philadelphia Sessions.' Springsteen's upcoming 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums' includes 83 songs on the seven unreleased albums recorded between 1983 and 2018.
