Two Palestinian Authority Police Officers, Trained At Qatar Police Academy, Perpetrated A Stabbing And Shooting Attack In Which An Israeli Was Murdered

On July 10, 2025, two Palestinian Authority (PA) police officers who had been trained at the Qatar Police College carried out a combined shooting and stabbing attack at Gush Etzion junction, killing Israeli security guard Shalev Zvuluny. The two, Mahmoud Abed and Malik Salem, were also members of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades militia, which is affiliated with the Fatah movement, headed by PA President Mahmoud Abbas. Abed and Salem join a series of PA security forces members who were also members of Palestinian terror organizations and perpetrated attacks against Israelis (See MEMRI Inquiry & Analysis Series No. 1760 - The Involvement Of Palestinian Authority Security Forces In Terror Attacks Against Israel – April 18, 2024) The official PA media, as is its custom, did not acknowledge the officers' involvement in terrorist activity. The PA news agency WAFA reported that two "young men" were "martyred" after being shot by the IDF, and that the "occupation army" claimed they had carried out an attack.[1] The incident was presented in this manner even though the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades issued an announcement claiming responsibility for the attack. The announcement identified the two terrorists as members of the Brigades, and stated that they had carried out the attack as part of "the Al-Aqsa Flood," i.e., the campaign launched by Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023.[2] Moreover, Fatah posted death notices for the two terrorists, which praised them and featured photos of them wearing PA police uniforms.[3] It should be noted that the two officers were trained at the Qatar Police College. Qatar – which encourages terror against Israel and worldwide – routinely provides training to Palestinian security personnel, not only from the PA but also from the Hamas terror organization. Many officers of Hamas' police force in Gaza were likewise trained at this college (See MEMRI Special Dispatch No. 11111 - Officers Of Hamas Security Apparatuses Trained In Qatar – February 1, 2024).[4] Death notices issued by Fatah for the two terrorists: The movement ushers them to their "nuptials" (with the 72 virgins of Paradise)[5] The following are some of the details that were posted about the two terrorists on social media but were not reported by the PA. The PA Presents The Two Terrorists As Innocent Young Men, While Fatah Describes Them As Self-Sacrificing Heroes Who Carried Out "An Operation Against the Zionist Enemy Forces" As stated, the PA news agency did not report the attack perpetrated by Mahmoud Abed and Malik Salem as a fact, but claimed that "two young men had been martyred after being shot by the Israeli army" and that, according to the "occupation army," the two had carried out a shooting. The report was accompanied by photos of Abed and Malik in civilian clothing, to obfuscate their identity as members of the PA security forces.[6] The WAFA report shows the two in civilian clothing However, the Fatah movement, which is the PA's ruling party, posted death notices that described the two as "martyred heroes" who had "ascended to heaven."[7] The message that accompanied these notices on Fatah's official X account said: "The Fatah movement welcomes the fida'i [i.e., self-sacrifice] operation [carried out] in the northern Hebron [governorate], and stresses that the settler hordes will witness the might of our fighters in the West Bank when they [encounter] death, shootings and gunpowder. [It also stresses] that the flame of the fida'iyoun [self-sacrificing fighters] of the Al-Aqsa [Martyrs] Brigades will not be extinguished as long as the occupier remains on our land and persists in aggression against our people."[8] The announcement on Fatah's X account Other posts on Fatah's X account also praised the two terrorists. For example, one stated that "glory bends its knee to you," and another called Mahmoud Abed a "martyred hero." The posts on Fatah's X account: on the left – "The martyred hero Muhammad Abed, who carried out the self-sacrifice operation today near Bethlehem"; on the right – "Glory bends its knee to you" An announcement issued by the Fatah-associated Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades[9] said: "The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claim responsibility for the Hebron combined [shooting and stabbing] attack, in which a Zionist security guard was killed… The fighters of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades continue their heroic operations against the Zionist enemy forces as part of the Al-Aqsa Flood war… As part of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade's response to the occupation's ongoing aggression, this afternoon our fighters carried out… a heroic combined [shooting and stabbing] attack, in which they managed to seize the weapon of a security guard after they stabbed him and killed him. Then they confronted the enemy forces in the Gush Etzion settlement and shot at those present. [Their goal was] to reach heaven. The heroes who carried out this operation were the self-sacrificing hero Mahmoud Yousuf Muhammad Abed (23) [and] the self-sacrificing hero Malik Ibrahim Abd Al-Jabbar Salem (23)…"[10] The announcement issued by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades The Terrorists Trained At The Qatar Police College As mentioned, the two terrorists received training at the Qatar Police College, as evident from their Facebook accounts. They both listed the Qatari capital, Doha, as their place of residence. Abed also shared a photo of the college insignia, and Salem explicitly stated that he was a graduate of the college. It should be noted that this college has also trained police officers for Hamas.[11] Facebook accounts of Mahmoud Abed (@ and Malik Salem (@ Photos circulated on social media show the two wearing uniforms of PA police officers. Palestinian-American man 'beaten to death' by Israeli settlers, authorities say

A Palestinian-American man was beaten to death and a second man was shot dead during a settler attack on a village in the occupied West Bank on Friday, Palestinian authorities said. The ruling Fatah party said Saif Al Din Musallat, 23, was a US citizen, and condemned the attack, which it described as a 'policy of the occupying state's practice of systemic terrorism'. The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the second victim as Hussein Al Shalabi, 23, and said he was shot in the chest. The Wafa news agency said 10 others were wounded in the attack. The US State Department did not comment directly on the killing of Mr Musallat. 'We are aware of reports of the death of a US citizen in the West Bank,' a department representative told The National. 'Out of respect for the privacy of the family and loved ones during this difficult time, we have no further comment.' Mr Musallat's family in Tampa, Florida, issued a statement calling on the State Department to take action. 'This is an unimaginable nightmare and injustice that no family should ever have to face. We demand the US State Department lead an immediate investigation and hold the Israeli settlers who killed Saif accountable for their crimes,' the family statement said. Annas Abu El Ezz, spokesman for the Palestinian Health Ministry, told AFP that Mr Musallat 'died after being severely beaten all over his body by settlers in the town of Sinjil', about 15km north-east of Ramallah. The Florida Palestine Network mourned his loss. 'The young man was injured and remained so for four hours. The army prevented us from reaching him and did not allow us to take him away,' Abdul Samad Abdul Aziz, from the nearby village of Al Mazraa Al Sharqiya, told AFP. 'When we finally managed to reach him, he was taking his last breath.' The Israeli military said clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israelis after rocks were thrown at Israeli civilians near Sinjil, lightly injuring two. It said the ensuing 'violent confrontation … included vandalism of Palestinian property, arson, physical clashes, and rock hurling'. 'We are aware of reports regarding a Palestinian civilian killed and a number of injured Palestinians as a result of the confrontation,' the military said. Violence between Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank has risen in recent years, with settler attacks becoming more frequent since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023. Israeli killings of US citizens in the West Bank include those of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, Palestinian-American teenager Omar Mohammad Rabea and Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi.

Radical Islamists, the biggest threat to Islam and its followers

The greatest threats to most nations are that of external enemies. The Islamic nation, however, sees it biggest enemy come from within. The radical culture that has come to dominate Islamic thought has divided Muslim societies into disparate, warring, and mutually antagonistic groups and sects. In times of peace, these groups serve as the scapegoat for dictatorial rulers. The ruler uses the existence of these groups as a justification to close off democratic avenues and postpone the idea of power transfer, under the guise of protecting his nation from them. This is despite the fact that these groups tend to operate under the ruler's consent, serving as his best excuse – both domestically and internationally – to remain in power indefinitely. He suggests to both internal and external audiences that the alternative to his rule is these extremist, backward, and violent groups, thereby forcing them to accept the status quo. On another front, we have seen these groups responsible for the failure of Arab revolutions, as happened in Libya, Syria, and Yemen. However, Egypt and Tunisia's revolutions succeeded because the people rejected these groups. For instance, had the Syrian people fully fought as one, as citizens united against their ruler, that ruler would not have remained in power. Instead, the people are divided into sects and groups: there are Sunnis, Alawites, Druze, Christians, and Kurds. Furthermore, Islamist groups have been justified to spread the cause for Israel's brutal occupation, as they have divided the Palestinian people in how they can confront their occupier. We seethe likes of Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Al-Quds Brigades, Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, and many other factions, instead of unity under one national banner regardless of religion. There should be no difference between a Palestinian Sunni, Shiite, Druze, or Christian Muslim, or others. Why don't we learn from others? The Ukrainian nation is resisting the Russian occupation with one heart, united fully. We don't find independent Ukrainian groups separate from the leadership saying, 'We are the Christian group' or 'Christian Jihad' or anything of that sort. For this, the world respected them and stood by them. Meanwhile, we ask ourselves: Why doesn't the world stand by the Palestinian people? The answer is because we haven't presented a unified image, with agreed on goals and principles, to the world. Instead, the world only sees hostility between Palestinian factions and sects – the time when Hamas once fought Fatah members in Gaza isn't a distant memory. If something similar happened among the Ukrainian people resisting their occupier, the world would have stop supporting the Ukrainian people. In other words, if we respect ourselves, the world would respect us. When will our people understand this? This is what gave an American the opportunity to say on a TV channel, 'We support Israel in protecting its security by killing the commander of Islamic Jihad's northern region, Tayseer al-Ajroudi.' The presenter interrupted him, stating that Israel attacked peaceful people in their homes. The American replied, 'And why didn't Israel do that to Fatah members?' justifying it by saying Israel is targeting terrorists. Therefore, we argue that unifying the Palestinian people under one national banner, without color or sectarianism, is essential for the protection of all Palestinians and has become an urgent necessity. Otherwise, the conflict will persist, and we will witness this painful, recurring scene of innocent lives lost due to a failure to listen to reason. Radical groups must understand they have erred; historical experience has constantly proven this. Without unity, the world will not stand with us, nor will Arab or Islamic nations support radical groups. Islamic governments, like other nations, now fear radical groups that might turn against them at any time, declare them infidels, and carry out terrorist operations against them, as Hamas did to Egypt. Thus, we must realize that the disunity and division caused by radical extremist Islamic groups will lead us to lose our cause, as has happened repeatedly in the past. Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades release footage of Israeli bulldozer explosion in southern Gaza

Gaza – Saba: Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a military wing of Fatah in the Gaza Strip, on Friday released footage showing the detonation of an Israeli enemy occupation army bulldozer east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. The video displays the preparation and monitoring of an Israeli D9 military bulldozer, followed by its destruction with a highly explosive barrel bomb as it encroached into the vicinity of al-Qarara town, east of Khan Younis. This action comes as Palestinian resistance factions continue to respond to the genocidal crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, with American support, against the people of the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. These ongoing crimes include killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in defiance of international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt them.
