Where the Lions stand in post-draft NFL power rankings from NFL.com
Where the Lions stand in post-draft NFL power rankings from Hint: it's still very near the top With the NFL Draft in the books and teams filling out rosters with undrafted free agents, rosters are pretty well locked in for the summer. Rookie mini camps are on the horizon and, before you know, teams will be fully together on the field. With a few days to take everything in, power rankings have been updated and we now have a better sense of where teams stand heading into May. One of those rankings came from Eric Edholm. The Lions were already near the top of most power rankings before the draft, but where does Edholm have them after the draft? The answer is at No. 5. Wrote Edholm: "It's becoming easier, with each passing draft, to identify whom the Lions will like as prospects. Dan Campbell always talks about their types of guys, and the 2025 draft class only reinforced that archetype more. Defensive tackle Tyleik Williams is a bull and a handful up front. Tate Ratledge and Miles Frazier are two street-tough guards. The Day 3 picks were a mix of upside and floor. And then there's the curious case of Isaac TeSlaa, the ultimate draft guy's draft guy. TeSlaa wasn't a top-100 prospect for me, but he absolutely makes sense in Detroit as a stalk blocker, a red-zone weapon and another target with some length and juice. Many people viewed him as an early Day 3 option, though, so it's worth noting what the Lions gave up to select him 70th overall: two third-round picks next year. That's more than just, you know, a case of Faygo and a box of Better Made chips. But that's what I am talking about with the Lions: They don't care how other teams value players, only how they value them, and that approach has served this franchise beautifully over Brad Holmes' five drafts." The Lions are the second NFC team in this group. The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles sit atop the rankings, followed by three AFC teams -- No. 2 Baltimore Ravens, No. 3 Kansas City Chiefs, No. 4 Buffalo Bills. With the team healthy, the Lions will be hungry to finally get over the hump this season and reach Super Bowl LX. The schedule will be quite the grind for Lions. The Lions are scheduled to play the top three teams in these rankings (Eagles, Ravens, Chiefs) all on the road. They will also visit the Washington Commanders, who checked in right below the Lions at No. 6. Add in No. 7 Tampa Bay (home) and two games each against No. 9 Green Bay and No. 10 Minnesota, it adds up to a very tough road to get back to the No. 1 seed in the NFC. But the talent is there in Detroit to make take on that road.

Detroit liquor store doubles as art gallery, bringing creativity to the community
Tucked next to the iconic Faygo plant on Detroit's east side is a liquor store that's also a gallery, and it might just be one of the city's most creative hidden gems. Liquor Basket Gratiot is home to Push Gallery, Detroit's only art gallery housed inside a fully operational liquor store. It's the brainchild of Dominick Lemonious, an artist by trade and the store's manager. "We're bringing art to the people," Lemonious said. "We're really creating an atmosphere and an experience for people who aren't normally privy to go to art shows or know when the art shows are." Jon DeBoer Lemonious began showcasing his own work but soon expanded the idea into a full-fledged gallery space, highlighting artists from across the city. Since its launch, Push Gallery has featured dozens of pieces, each telling a piece of Detroit's story. "The community has really embraced it," Lemonious said. "I originally wanted to put some of my work up here, and then, as friends came out, they said this would be a great space to show the community what the art scene looks like in Detroit." The gallery's first exhibition debuted a year ago with local artist Elonte Davis's "Love, Appreciation, Celebration." The current showcase, titled "Community First," focuses on elevating Detroit-based artists and honoring the neighborhood that surrounds the store. Jon DeBoer "We're hoping to tell a story of a brighter Detroit," Lemonious added. "We're hoping to inspire others to be more creative, think outside the box, and really just bring people together." His mission is rooted in accessibility—bringing art into everyday spaces and ensuring residents don't have to travel far or pay a fee to experience it. "When people are born and raised here, it's a certain energy and a certain love and respect we have for the city," Lemonious said. "It's Detroit vs. Everybody. It's Detroit Hustles Harder. It's just something that's in you." Push Gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. inside Liquor Basket Gratiot, 3643 Gratiot Avenue in Detroit. Whether you're stopping in for a snack or staying for the art, Lemonious hopes visitors leave inspired and with a deeper appreciation for the city's creative pulse. Elonte Davis

House of Faygo pop-up in Detroit: We tried 2 new flavors
A week after the roll out of Faygo's two new flavors and in time for the overflow of fans fresh from the Detroit Tigers home opener win, the House of Faygo pop up opened in downtown Detroit. The three-day immersive pop-up experience is open through Sunday, at 1001 Woodward Ave. (near Campus Martius) offers visitors an opportunity to taste the Super Pop and Bubble Pop! flavors and buy merchandise. There are also photo opportunities, a tasting bar, art and culture collaborations, and a live DJ set with Sheefy McFly. But it's mostly about tasting the new flavors. And we did. The Bubble Pop! was a favorite. It's pink like a typical bubble gum, has the initial scent and overall taste of bubble gum. We liked that it was also not overly sweet. Super Pop, after the flavor notes of Superman ice cream did bring back memories of the citrusy ice cream. Its fruity with a sherbet-like flavor and a hint of almond. Dawn Burch, Faygo's director of marketing, told the Free Press that this was the company's biggest launch and the first time for launching two at a time. 'Doing two at a time … why not kick it off with a bang and do a pop up' Burch said." The two flavors bring Faygo's lineup to 54 with Red Pop still the flagship flavor. 'House of Faygo' is Faygo's new campaign for the summer. 'Every pop has its place, and every cap has its crown,' she said. Built on the concept of 'Pop Royalty' Burch said it's also built on being very Detroit. In late 1907, Faygo started out as the Feigenson Brothers Bottling Works in Detroit. It was years later the company shortened the name to Faygo. The Faygo bottling plant and headquarters are still on Gratiot Avenue in Detroit. Since 1987, Faygo has been part of the National Beverage Corp., which has brands that include LaCroix and Everfresh Juice. House of Faygo in downtown Detroit hours are 5-7 p.m. Friday, and noon- 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Faygo celebrates 2 new flavors with immersive pop-up in Detroit
Fruity ice cream and bubble gum are the newest flavors in Faygo's lineup. The iconic beverage company's Super Pop and Bubble Pop! flavors are now arriving in stores. Faygo says its Super Pop flavor is a fruity take on popular Superman ice cream, while light- pink Bubble Pop! brings to mind bubble gum with added hints of vanilla and fruit notes. Both flavors are available in 20- and 24-ounce bottles and are being sold at Meijer stores. Other retailers are also expected to carry them. 'This is one of the biggest launches in Faygo's 118-year history,' said Dan Trpevski, the company's executive vice president, in a news release. 'We're proud to introduce ...
