Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A beautiful and profound intergenerational friendship has been shared with the world through a viral TikTok video. Julissa Gomez, 28, posted a video of her taking her 86-year-old neighbor, Delmar, to see the movie Elio. What brought Gomez to tears, however, was the sight of Delmar waiting on his porch, his face full of excited anticipation. His pure joy in a simple moment has resonated with 6.5 million people who liked the clip. Gomez spoke to Newsweek about the unlikely friendship and what it's meant to her to have Delmar in her life. Gomez and Delmar's friendship is a true testament to the power of community. Gomez said their bond began after she and her family invited him to join them at church. "Those Sundays became something we all looked forward to, and over time, he truly became part of our family." Their inspiring story has even been turned into a children's book, The Friendship Next Door with Delmar, with proceeds going toward his living expenses and medical bills. A Constant Source of Support and Love The movie outing is just one of many activities Gomez and her family share with Delmar to ensure he never feels lonely. Their shared adventures include running errands, celebrating holidays and birthdays and simply sitting and talking for hours. Delmar also enjoys watching his favorite shows, Funny You Should Ask and Family Feud, with them. Their friendship runs deeper than shared meals and movie nights, however. Gomez shared that after her father passed away, Delmar became a source of strength and support when she needed it most. "After my dad passed away, I went through a really hard time," she said. "But Delmar was a constant source of support and love. He checked in on us regularly and became the kind of friend and family that anyone would be lucky to have." She added that she believes that her father "sent Delmar to brighten our days." The bond her dad and Delmar shared has now been passed on to Gomez's husband, who can make Delmar "laugh like no one else can." Gomez said she treasures Delmar for his "kindness, wisdom, humor, and the way he makes everyone around him feel special." The Internet Comes Together to Help The viral video has not only brought awareness to their friendship but has also sparked an outpouring of generosity from the online community. This support has helped ease many of Delmar's financial burdens. "When his car stopped working, he was devastated, it's his independence," Gomez shared. "Thanks to the generosity through our GoFundMe, he was able to get it fixed." Without the support from TikTok, she says, this would not have been possible. The same online community also helped Delmar with another milestone: getting his first cellphone. This has provided him a new way to stay connected with Gomez and "all the people cheering him on." For her, seeing this online community come together to support her dear friend has been "incredibly moving." The story of Gomez and Delmar is ultimately a powerful reminder that random acts of kindness can lead to the most meaningful and unexpected friendships.

Regé-Jean Page to produce and potentially star in ‘Funny You Should Ask' series for Apple
Regé-Jean Page is set to executive produce and is expected to star in the Apple TV adaptation of Funny You Should Ask, based on the bestselling novel by Elissa Sussman. The project, currently in development, comes from Tomorrow Studios, with Page and producing partner Emily Brown attached via their A Mighty Stranger Production banner. The romantic drama follows a young journalist who interviews a Hollywood icon — a role Page is poised to play — and reconnects with him a decade later. Rachel Alter is adapting the novel for the screen and will also serve as executive producer alongside Page, Brown, Robin Schwartz, Carolyn Daucher, and the production team at Tomorrow Studios. This marks Page's anticipated return to television since his breakout role as Simon Basset in Bridgerton. The role in Funny You Should Ask is particularly fitting, as the fictional movie star is the latest James Bond ,a part Page has long been favoured to play by fans. If greenlit, it would bring Page back into the romantic spotlight with a contemporary edge. Published in 2022, the novel follows a young journalist tasked with interviewing a famous Hollywood actor who has just been cast as the new James Bond. Their interview sparks unexpected chemistry, leading to a weekend that changes everything. Ten years later, they reunite, forcing them both to confront what really happened between them and what it still means. Page's recent credits include Black Bag, The Gray Man, and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch star Caroline Rhea addresses 'weird' exit from signature role
Caroline Rhea finds it "weird" that she left 'Sabrina, The Teenage Witch' before it ended. The 61-year-old comedienne starred as Aunt Hilda on the hit 1990s sitcom alongside Melissa Joan Hart, and quit at the end of the show's penultimate season so she could take over Rosie O'Donnell's talk show slot, but still to this day finds it odd that she is not in the final batch of episodes. She told UsWeekly: "That was when I went to do my talk show. So I know it was weird. And sometimes when I watch season seven, I'm like, 'Well, this is very weird that we're not there.' It's so messed up because my [whole stand-up routine] is called 'I Identify as a witch!' "I genuinely think Melissa's my niece. I think Beth [Brodcerick] is my sister. I think the cat [Salem actually] talks!" The former 'Funny You Should Ask' star helmed her talk show for just one season before Ellen DeGeneres took on the slot for 19 years and ultimately passed it on to Sherri Shepherd 2022. Caroline - who returned to her role as Aunt Hilda in the series finale of the magical sitcom - then went on to voice the character of matriarch Linda Flynn-Fletcher on the Disney Channel series 'Phineas and Ferb' and feels "very lucky" to have been on two hit shows as the cartoon returns to screens after more than a decade away. She said: "It feels like the biggest blessing. I get greeted with so much kindness in the world because I was very lucky to be on shows that evoke happiness and innocence. 'It was a very innocent time for both of them. And then I get to be, like, a mother figure. "It's always cheeky and clever. can watch those episodes 10 times and get 10 different jokes. Visually it's funny, the writing is so funny. [And] I love the characters. "[Returning has felt] so different as an actress because 16 years ago I didn't know how to relate to [Ashley Tisdale] as my child. And I love Ashley. I've known her since she was 18. So now it's more fun for me. I just substitute in my own daughter [for Candace]. It's so crazy. They're both 16!"
