GTA 6 will earn a record breaking £5,000,000,000 in 60 days claims analyst
Rockstar's GTA 6 will break every record in the book for video game launches, according to new predictions from a financial firm. The launch of GTA 6 looks set to be the biggest gaming event of 2026, but it's much more than that. It'll almost certainly be the biggest entertainment launch in history, never mind just video games. GTA 5 has sold over 215 million copies since it released in 2013, making it the most successful traditional video game of all time, only behind the likes of Minecraft. While GTA 6 is obviously going to be massive, one gaming investment firm predicts that the pent up demand will see the game earning more in three months than most publishers make in a year. The prediction comes from Konvoy's Josh Chapman, a managing partner at the firm which invests 'in the platforms and technologies at the frontier of gaming'. In a LinkedIn post, Chapman claims GTA 6 will generate $7.6 billion (£5.7 billion) in revenue within its first 60 days of launch. 'This will be the greatest video game release of all time; shattering player, viewership, and revenue records,' he wrote. Along with sales for the game, this figure includes GTA+ subscriptions and in-app purchases. According to the firm, the latter alone will bring $680 million in revenue within 60 days. Chapman goes onto claim publisher Take-Two will break even on its $2 billion (£1.5 billion) investment into GTA 6 within 30 days of release. The firm predicts GTA 6 will sell 85 million copies within 60 days. For context, GTA 5 surpassed this milestone in November 2017, over four years after it launched in September 2013. But then it had only been five years since GTA 4, while fans have been waiting 13 years for GTA 6. How much the game makes will also be affected by how much Rockstar charge for it, with many rumours that they want to charge $100/£100 for even the standard version. However, Konvoy predicts the standard version will cost $80 (likely £80), which will launch alongside more expensive premium editions. GTA 5 earned Rockstar $1 billion in sales revenue within just three days in 2013, so these predictions are not at all unreasonable. That doesn't mean Konvoy's predictions are correct but the idea that GTA 6 will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time seems guaranteed. Rockstar Games Social Club has come to an end today after 13 years, the main URL now redirects to the home viewing profiles, walls, photos, video viewing from users are gone, but could be part of new plans to introduce a new platform. — ben (@videotechuk_) July 15, 2025 Elsewhere, Rockstar is continuing to gear for up GTA 6's May launch. The studio has been hiring for various marketing roles and this week seems to have pulled the plug on the Rockstar Games Social Club. More Trending As highlighted by Rockstar Games insider Videotechuk, the website, which served as a hub where players could track in-game progress and access exclusive content, now redirects to the main Rockstar homepage. 'Rockstar Games Social Club has come to an end today after 13 years, the main URL now redirects to the homepage,' they wrote on X. 'Currently viewing profiles, walls, photos, video viewing from users are gone, but could be part of new plans to introduce a new platform.' 'Social Club was incredibly outdated with more cases of crews being hijacked, accounts being targeted easily,' they added. 'They're most likely finally working on a new platform ready for GTA 6.' What Rockstar will replace it with is unclear but it's another positive sign that the game is not expected to see any further delays. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter. GTA 4 and Red Dead 2 website updates have fans thinking new ports are coming
Rockstar Games' website currently lists GTA 4 for a console it's not currently playable on, as next gen Red Dead Redemption rumours return. Since Rockstar has delayed GTA 6 until May 2026, it would make sense for the studio to have something else ready, to keep fans occupied until then. While no other Rockstar games have been officially announced, past rumours have pointed to re-releases for Red Dead Redemption 2 and, most significantly, GTA 4. The latter has been rumoured to be coming later this year and in lieu of any formal reveal, it's suspected Rockstar has accidentally hinted at both projects on its website. The purported evidence for these ports comes from Rockstar's support page. Here, you can select whichever game you're having issues with and then navigate the different tabs to narrow down the problem. Yesterday, someone noticed the Red Dead Redemption 2's support page suddenly featured a new tab related to online migration, and they shared their discovery in the Red Dead Redemption subreddit. This is obviously in reference to the Red Dead Online multiplayer mode, except the game has never allowed you to migrate your character and progress from one platform to another before. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. The website has since been updated to remove any mention of online migration, but the fact it was there at all suggests Rockstar intends to incorporate it in the near future. Considering Red Dead Redemption 2 is nearly seven years old, it'd be a bit random to now introduce online migration between the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions. It's more likely this is further evidence of the game receiving a current gen patch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and possibly a port to the Nintendo Switch 2. As for GTA 4, a similar situation has occurred there, where its support page now lists the PlayStation 4 among the game's support platforms. Unlike the Red Dead Redemption 2 example, this tab hasn't been removed, at least at time of writing. For the record, GTA 4 isn't playable on PlayStation 4 in any shape or form. The game only ever launched for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, and is currently only available through Steam as well as the Xbox Series X'sbackwards compatibility feature. The PlayStation 4, however, isn't backwards compatible with PlayStation 3 games and GTA 4 isn't included in the retro games catalogue for PlayStation Plus. As such, this lends credence to the idea that GTA 4 is getting a PlayStation 4 re-release soon and somebody at Rockstar has jumped the gun by updating the game's support page. More Trending It's worth noting that Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive doesn't have any new games scheduled for the final quarter of 2025. Mafia: The Old Country is coming out on August 8, with NBA 2K26 and Borderlands 4 launching in September. We can't imagine the company would be fine having no further releases, especially around Christmas time, so perhaps Take-Two will pad out the rest of 2025 with these Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 4 upgrades/ports. Rockstar is also financing remakes of the first two Max Payne games, which are in the works at Alan Wake 2 developer Remedy, but the lack of any real info suggests they're unlikely to drop this year. What if Trevor had been the protagonist of GTA IV?
(Image via Rockstar Games) Imagine Liberty City through the eyes of a complete maniac. No cold, calculated Niko Bellic. No tragic war stories. Just Trevor Philips, the crazy chaos machine and unapologetic psycho running the show. Yeah, it would've been absolutely unhinged . Here's what GTA IV might've looked like if Trevor was driving the story (and probably crashing into everything on the way). Liberty City Would've Burned (Literally) Niko was about revenge, loyalty, and lowkey trying to be a better person (even while gunning down half the city). Trevor? Not even close. His entire vibe is 'I'll do it because I can.' Missions would be less about strategy and more about maximum carnage. Think less 'let's sneak in and grab the guy' and more 'let's blow up the entire building and see what's left.' He's the kind of guy who'd cause a five-star police chase just to pick up fast food. Trevor Philips Adventures in GTA 4 Episode 1 Every Relationship = Pure Chaos Niko had complicated bonds—with Roman, Michelle, Packie… it was messy, but human. Trevor? He'd probably rob Roman's cab business by mission two. Any romantic subplot? Instantly toxic. Trevor's the guy who'd go on a date, then threaten the waiter for 'looking weird.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What She Did Mid-Air Left Passengers Speechless medalmerit Learn More Undo There'd be zero trust, constant backstabbing, and a lot of yelling. Every cutscene? Explosive. Drama would be off the charts. Mission Design? Straight-Up Madness Trevor's missions in GTA V are infamous for a reason—cannibal cults, train heists, torturing people… he doesn't do normal. So with him leading GTA IV, missions would be dialed up to 100. One minute you're hijacking a chopper while high on something unidentifiable, the next you're chasing a guy through Times Square on fire . Story coherence? Who needs it. Just vibes. Violent, chaotic vibes. The Story Arc: No Redemption, Just Mayhem GTA IV tried to be deep. It wanted you to feel things. It gave you moral choices. Trevor wouldn't care about any of that. You pick 'revenge' or 'deal'? Trevor does both —and kills everyone anyway. There's no growth with Trevor. No lesson. No emotional payoff. Just an endless, spiraling descent into beautifully entertaining anarchy. Trevor arrives in Liberty City | GTA IV Liberty City Wouldn't Survive Let's not lie—Trevor would turn Liberty City into an actual warzone. The cops? Outgunned. The gangs? Out-crazied. The civilians? Running for their lives. The city already felt tense with Niko. With Trevor, it'd feel like The Purge: Forever Edition . Every corner would be chaos central. Would It Work? Honestly? Kinda. Trevor brings energy . He's the grenade in a quiet room. While it would kill all the seriousness and moral conflict of GTA IV, it'd replace it with something else: pure, wild fun. Liberty City wouldn't just be a battleground—it'd be a playground of destruction. And Trevor would be king of the chaos. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. Top 5 things fan hope for in a GTA 4 remaster
In the midst of GTA 6 madness, rumors are circulating about a possible GTA 4 remaster. While GTA 5 continues to be a giant in the franchise, many believe that no one can tell a story like GTA 4. If Rockstar Games can get the remaster right, they may be able to create a remaster that is better than GTA 5. Amidst the immense hype of GTA 6, there have been rumors about a GTA 4 remaster. GTA 6 is set to be released on May 26, 2026, so GTA 5 is still the greatest game of this franchise. However, there are people who think GTA 4 is still the best of the lot. Yes, GTA 4 couldn't reach the level of its successor, but the way this 2008 title shaped up the narrative depth, no other titles has ever been able to do that in this long-hailed series. However, if Rockstar Games sorts some aspects out in the potential remaster, then it can surpass GTA 5 for sure. GTA 4 remaster: Top 5 things Rockstar Games should fix/add in the game GTA 4 remaster is rumored to be in works. | Image via Rockstar Games. In terms of storytelling, GTA 4 is second to none. Despite using three separate protagonists, GTA 5 could never reach the heights set by its predecessor's t's single-protagonist based narrative. However, apart from storytelling, there were several issues with the game. Also, as the title is close to two decades old, there are many things Rockstar needs to add to address today's generation. Here are they: 5. Enhanced performance on all platforms There is no doubt that as a remaster, this rumored title needs serious visual overhaul. GTA 4 was indeed a huge graphical leap from its predecessors, but to stand a chance amidst today's modern-graphics titles, it needs to have huge enhancement in its visuals. Also, as it was only available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, GTA 4 remaster should be released on all kind of modern-gen consoles, like PlayStation 5 & Pro, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, etc. 4. Modernization GTA 4 was released in 2008. So in order to fit into today's generation, the developers must address some issues. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Advanced Strategic Management IIMK ASMP Apply Now Undo For example: some Quality-of-Life improvements like faster loading times, customizable controls, enhanced user-interface, and many more. 3. Keeping intact the same vibe As it's going to be a potential remaster, there are going to be a lot of changes for sure. But one thing in GTA 4 that Rockstar shouldn't touch is its iconic dark-noir atmosphere. Unlike any other title in the franchise, GTA 4's in-game tone is a lot more graver. 2. Inclusion of DLC Rockstar never stopped providing expansions for GTA Online, but never cared to give one for GTA 5. That's not the case with GTA 4, as it got two - 'The Lost and Damned' and 'The Ballad of Gray Tony.' However, Rockstar needs to add these two DLCs in a single remaster for a seamless experience. Any new DLC would be a bonus. 1. Graphical optimisation This has to be the most needed aspect developers need to assure for GTA 4 remaster. The game runs smoothly on its native consoles, but was a disaster for the PC fans. Even today, the game is not graphically optimised for all PCs, unlike GTA 5. That is why Rockstar Games needs to make sure that the game will be able to run smoothly on all forms platforms. Take-Two boss has zero interest in playing GTA 6: 'I'm not a gamer'
The CEO behind one of the biggest video game companies in the world has explained why he doesn't play them, despite having access to GTA 6. GTA 6 might be the most anticipated game on the planet, but one of the few people who has access to Rockstar's sequel is simply not bothered about playing it. Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Rockstar's parent company, made an appearance on CNBC to discuss the company's financial results for Q4 2025 and GTA 6, which has been pushed back to May 26, 2026. Zelnick described the delay as being from a 'desire to polish and create the best experience for consumers', but things took a personal turn when he was asked if he had played the game in question. 'I'm not a gamer,' Zelnick said, avoiding the question. 'I don't play video games [at all]. I'm not the consumer-in-chief.' When asked if he gives Rockstar notes when he's shown the game, Zelnick replied: 'I share my opinions pretty openly. I think being the consumer-in-chief in the entertainment business as the CEO is probably a mistake.' Zelnick, who previously worked for Columbia Pictures Television and 20th Century Fox, explained how he's never been actively involved in any creative work during his career – even in the TV and music business, despite calling himself a 'musician'. 'That's not my role,' he added. 'My role is to attract, retain, and motivate the best talent in the business, and then get out of their way.' While he's certainly not the first CEO of a games company who doesn't actually play games, it's odd that he doesn't appear to have any curiosity about playing GTA 6. More Trending Still, he's not shy about making some bold claims about the sequel. When addressing the reason behind the game's delay, Zelnick said: 'Rockstar is trying to create the best thing anyone has ever seen in entertainment, not just interactive entertainment. That's a tall order. And I think consumers have huge hopes for the title.' Last week, Zelnick described the delay as necessary to allow Rockstar to fulfil its 'creative vision' for GTA 6 'with no limitations'. Along with GTA 6, Rockstar is rumoured to be working on a Red Dead Redemption 2 port for Switch 2, and a remaster of GTA 4.
