Last Updated: Nivrutti Shinde walked into Gopika Jewellers with his wife, Shantabai, to buy her a mangalsutra. True love doesn't need big gestures; sometimes a small act is enough. A video of a 93-year-old man, Nivrutti Shinde, walking into a jewellery store with his wife, Shantabai, to buy her a Mangalsutra has gone viral and it's melting a million hearts. The video is from Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. In a simple white dhoti-kurta and cap, the man stepped into the store. At first, the staff assumed they needed help or financial support. But the man told them that he wanted to buy a mangalsutra for his wife. After they carefully selected a mangalsutra, the shopkeeper asked how much money they had. The couple said they had Rs 1,120. When the woman offered the money, the shopkeeper smiled and joked, 'So much money?" But the elderly man took it seriously and added some coins to the amount. The small gesture touched the shopkeeper's heart. He decided not to take full payment. Instead, he gave the mangalsutra to the couple and took only Rs 20 as a symbolic charge. 'The couple entered the shop and the man gave me Rs 1,120, saying he wanted to buy a mangalsutra for his wife. I was overwhelmed by his gesture. I just took Rs 20 from him as a token of blessings, and handed over the mangalsutra to the couple," the owner said as quoted by Hindustan Times. This gesture moved the couple to tears. They were touched by the shopkeeper's kindness. The video of the moment has taken social media by storm. It was widely shared on X (formerly Twitter), where users praised both the couple and the jeweller. Someone simply called it 'so wholesome." 'The tears of happiness and contentment of those elderly couple will bless him and his generation to come," a person admired. A viewer remarked, 'Should be the only couple goal. So much love. An eye opener for modern people," while an individual added, 'Everything about this video is beautiful to watch." 'Stories like these are so wonderful and heartwarming," read another comment. As per the outlet, Nivrutti and Shantabai are farmers from Ambhora Jahagir village in Jalna district. The couple is currently on a foot pilgrimage to Pandharpur for the Ashadhi Ekadashi festival. 93-year-old buys ‘mangalsutra' for wife, jeweller's kind tribute goes viral
A touching video from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, capturing a deeply moving moment between a 93-year-old man and his wife, is going viral on social media. The incident took place two days ago at Gopika Jewellers, where the elderly couple walked in together, hand in hand, to buy a mangalsutra. The couple, clearly devoted to each other, browsed necklaces and finally selected one. Moved by their affectionate bond and humble demeanour, the shopkeeper began a warm conversation with them. When asked how much money they had, the elderly woman pulled out Rs 1,120 in cash. The shopkeeper, amused, said with a smile, 'So much money?' Thinking this meant they didn't have enough, the old man promptly reached into his bag and brought out two bundles full of coins. But what followed next truly stole the hearts of everyone who saw the video. Instead of accepting the full payment, the shop owner insisted on charging only Rs 20 – Rs 10 from each of them – as a symbolic gesture, saying it was a tribute to their love. The two live alone, but their unwavering love continues to shine through. The video was shared on X by user @singhvarun, who captioned it, 'This made my day.'
