The facility was handed over to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR and CE) Department and was received by Minister P.K. Sekar Babu on May 18. However, the facility has not been put to use and people continue to perform the rites in the open or in the coconut farms nearby. The people have urged the HR and CE department to put the facility to use at the earliest.
