Rebel Cairo Colour-Blocks the Coastline In 'Agiba' Summer Collection
Rebel Cairo's collection offers new silhouettes, hand-finished details, and that signature 'life in full color' spirit. Rebel Cairo's new 'Agiba' Summer 2025 collection is already on feeds, in stories, and, most likely, in your friend's Sahel suitcase. After the launch of both drops at July's close, Rebel unveiled new silhouettes, impeccably soft tailoring, and artisanal details made for authentic summer moments. Shot on the rocky shores of Marsa Matrouh, including Agiba Beach, this season's campaign is an ode to the Mediterranean - not the yacht-club fantasy version, but the sun-baked summer many of us know well. 'The mood was all about portraying the beauty of a slow, simple, Mediterranean summer,' says Dara Hassanein, cofounder and creative director of Rebel Cairo. 'The shooting conditions were harsh, but we had a few lucky moments with locals that helped us capture some beautiful moments across the day.' Like most Rebel Cairo collections, this one started with a moodboard. 'Our inspiration started from observing and picking up on different moments that we design for, and seeing how our clients interact and wear our pieces,' Hassanein explains. From there, the team revisited their brand codes - prints, embroidery, silhouettes that already work - and built out a new world using textures, colors, and art. 'We always try to maintain a mindset of playfulness during this process. It's where our most creative ideas stem from.' From beach mornings to evenings out, the clothes adapt to your whereabouts. There's the Tamara skirt and linen pants that work as transitional pieces, and evening sets like Amara that add just enough shine to a summer plan. One standout fabric this season? A crinkled cotton-linen blend encrusted with hand-embellished sequins. 'It's beautifully textured and lightweight,' says Hassanein. And more importantly: no one's steaming anything in this heat. As always, the styling stays true to Rebel Cairo's DNA: intuitive, bohemian, and just fun enough. 'We do not overthink it,' Hassanein adds. 'We try a few things until we feel like we've captured the spirit well.' Unsurprisingly, Dalida on vacation and Slim Aarons poolside were major inspirations on the moodboard. But beneath all the lightness, the brand's intention and purpose run deep. 'Our brand's motto, life in full color, is our unifying message and guiding spirit,' Hassanein says. 'It's a message of joy and lightness.' That shows up in the pieces, sure, but also in the mood they create - the clothes that make sense when you're already running late and everything else in your life feels too loud. So if you find yourself packing for Sahel or dressing for a party this weekend, there's a good chance RebelCairo is already in the mix. Because it just makes sense.

Rookie Ahmed Hassanein feeling 'surreal' to share NFL jersey with father
Ahmed Hassanein has a great attitude. Said he FaceTimed his dad and told him,'We're here.''I just wanna keep growing and I really wanna prove myself for this team.' One of the best stories from the 2025 NFL Draft involves Lions 6th-round EDGE Ahmed Hassanein, who spent part of his life in Egypt, came back to the States, learned football and made a name for himself while at Boise State. He's now had his first taste of NFL action and couldn't be more excited. And who did he share that excitement with? None other than his father. After the Hall of Fame Game, Hassanein told reporters he FaceTimed his dad and told him, "We're here." Hassanein said he always calls his dad before each game and calls his wife to pray before each game. He called it "surreal" to be able to call his dad and have the NFL emblem on his jersey. Hassanein has been flashing throughout camp. That continued during the Hall of Fame Game Thursday, as the rookie recorded four tackles and showed strong promise stopping the run. The rookie spoke on that as well after the game. "Coach Shep always says to establish the violence of the game, and the nature of the game," Hassanein said. "You have to earn the right to pass rush. If you stop the run, you're going to earn the right to pass rush and earn the right to go get the quarterback. But I feel like this is Step 1, doing my job, being in my gap, making plays. And then I earn the right." Early on, Hassanein has been earning that right. With continued development, he'll be after the quarterback plenty after stopping the run. The Lions have to be feeling very good about their 6th-round rookie.

Top candidates to be the Detroit Lions' training camp and preseason fan favorite in 2025
There's one every year, and this year's could very well come from this list... It happens every summer. No Detroit Lions training camp is complete without it. And it is bound to happen again when Lions camp kicks off later this month in Allen Park. One Lions player will emerge as the training camp darling. The apple of the fans' eyes. The roster hopeful that the masses rally behind and exaggeratedly cheer during practices and preseason games. Make no mistake, it's going to happen in 2025. But who will it be? That's not an easy question in 2025. Some of that is due to the fact the Lions have a pretty well-established roster. There are legitimately only a handful of spots up for grabs, and many of those are being fought out by veterans or recent draftees. For the ghost of Andrew Peacock, Tommy Kraemer, Cole Wick, Kalil Pimpleton, Starling Thomas, Beau Benzschawel, Adrian Martinez, et al to appear in 2025, it's going to take some powerful conjuring from the fan base. There are some candidates, however. And no, Tom Kennedy can't count as a candidate anymore as he enters his seventh season in Detroit... In alphabetical order, these are early choices for the players who will become fan favorites during the upcoming Lions training camp and preseason. DaRon Gilbert Gilbert had some moments last summer as an undrafted rookie linebacker blessed with a lot of speed and upbeat energy. It helps Gilbert's cause that he's a local; Gilbert is from Brother Rice High School and brought with him a vociferous hometown cheering section to practices. A safety in college at Lafayette and then Northern Illinois, Gilbert is remaking himself as a coverage-oriented linebacker. He's got the speed and twitch for it, though his hands are not ready for primetime. Gilbert is capable of making plays in the passing game that other LBs on the Lions cannot, and that sets him up nicely to earn some fans in camp. Ahmed Hassanein I struggle with the idea of putting a drafted rookie on here, but after watching Hassanein through a handful of rookie camp practices and OTAs, it's darn near impossible to not see his incredible fan appeal. Detroit is going to love Hassanein. A former Egyptian CrossFit champ as a youth, Hassanein is relatively new to football. That shows in his game from time to time, no doubt. But the sixth-rounder from Boise State's college tape was littered with hustle plays and a magnetic energy, and that has shown throughout the spring in Detroit. That Detroit has a considerable Middle Eastern population and he proudly represents his father's home country (Hassanein is a native-born American), can definitely get a major group of fans behind Hassanein. More: Dan Campbell likes what he sees from Lions rookie Ahmed Hassanein Ian Kennelly Kennelly checks a couple of boxes right away for a camp darling. He's a local (Utica Eisenhower HS) and a small-school phenom (Grand Valley State). Other than pure straight-line speed, Kennelly is also the most athletically gifted safety on a roster that has some pretty impressive athletes, too. In college, Kennelly was a very active playmaker who also wasn't afraid to go for the killshot from time to time. That's about as Detroit fan-friendly as you can ask for... Colby Sorsdal Sorsdal has a shot to win the fans over with a different sort of angle than the others here. A 2023 fifth-round pick from William & Mary, Sorsdal's first two seasons have been frustratingly underwhelming. He's bounced from tackle to guard and back again, and now appears to be in the mix to replace Frank Ragnow (or backup Ragnow's replacement) at center in his third year. Sorsdal is an eminently likeable guy who still has a chance to morph into a feel-good project, and he's closer in that regard than fellow 2023 draft disappointment (to this point) Brodric Martin. Anthony Tyus Another undrafted rookie with local ties, Tyus is a big running back from Portage Northern HS in the Kalamazoo area (and Ohio University and Northwestern collegiately). Tyus brings size and attitude (though not a lot of speed) as a runner; he's got some Joique Bell to his style, not fun to try and tackle and also blessed with surprisingly soft hands as a receiver. It's easy to see the affable Tyus winning a lot of fans with a 12-carry, 77-yard performance in the Hall of Fame Game, or delivering a boss-like stiff-arm to a Dolphins defender in a joint practice. Raequan Williams Williams brings the "oh yeah, I remember that guy" angle to Lions camp. A former standout defensive lineman at Michigan State, Williams is trying to resurrect his NFL career after not playing in the league since 2021. Williams looked to be in the best shape of his football life over the spring, earning a spot on the 90-man roster and with a threatening chnace to usurp some players ahead of him on the Detroit depth chart. Michigan State Spartan fans haven't had a lot of Lions representation recently, and Williams has the potential to harness that green and white energy in Honolulu Blue.

The Detroit Lions' draft pick Ahmed Hassanein wins over HC Dan Campbell's trust
Image via Getty The Detroit Lions ' defense coordinator, Kelvin Sheppard , recently praised the newly drafted edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein. The Egyptian-American defensive end has been quite a topic of buzz lately, mainly because of his influence taking hold over the Detroit Lions. Not as late as last month, Hassanein expressed his willingness to even bet his life for the team amid the rookie minicamp media session. Despite being drafted in the sixth round, Hassanein might turn out to be crucial for the team to elevate its gameplay with Aidan Hutchinson returning after a leg injury for the 2025 NFL season. Detroit Lions' rookie Ahmed Hassanein makes waves — DetroitOnLion (@DetroitOnLion) Recently, during a media session at the rookie minicamp last Thursday, Sheppard praised the edge rusher when asked about his team presence, 'He's an absolute joy to be around. He's never had a bad day, and he doesn't know what 'slow down' means.' As the offseason practices are commencing with high energy, this was not the first time we witnessed the newly drafted player's affection towards the team. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Use an AI Writing Tool That Actually Understands Your Voice Grammarly Install Now Undo Last month, Hassanein took to his Instagram and posted a quote from his new head coach, Dan Campbell , as the caption of his picture. The quote read, 'There is no light at the end of the tunnel. There is no light. There's a song Metallica has, 'No Leaf Clover,' and it says, man, when it comes to the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, it's just a freight train coming your way. If you see an expletive light, it's just a freight train. Just put your HEAD DOWN and go to WORK. It's about to be fun.' Moreover, during the media session, Sheppard also gave an update about Hutchinson's offseason performance during field practices. Not only did Sheppard mention Hutchinson's game to be better than before, but he also highlighted him to be 'the most energetic guy on the field.' With the outlook seeming great for the Lions, it will be intriguing to witness the relentless practices come to fruition for the team. In drafting DE Ahmed Hassanein, Detroit Lions gained extra roster spot
The Detroit Lions have an extra spot on their roster this spring. Sixth-round pick Ahmed Hassanein, who was born in the United States but spent most of his youth in Egypt, qualifies for a roster exemption under the NFL's International Pathways Program. Advertisement Hassanein had 22 sacks in his final two seasons at Boise State after relocating to California as a sophomore in high school. Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ahmed Hassanein (61) practices during rookie mini camp at Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park on Friday, May 9, 2025. SHAWN WINDSOR: Did Detroit Lions draft their center of the future? Tate Ratledge has that potential According to players qualify for the IPP program so long as their citizenship and principal place of residence are outside the United States and Canada and they have no more than two years of U.S. high school experience. Hassanein moved to Egypt with his mother and father when he was 6. He returned to live with his brother as a sophomore in high school, but played only two high school seasons because of the coronavirus pandemic. Advertisement The Lions were granted an exemption on their 90-man roster when Hassanein signed before rookie camp last week. The exemption will carry over to training camp. In the regular season, players who qualify for IPP exemptions are eligible to fill a 17th spot on a team's practice squad. If they make the 53-man roster, the team does not get an extra practice squad spot. Hassanein is expected to compete for a rotational spot at defensive end for the Lions this fall. The Lions currently have two open spots on their offseason roster. Dave Birkett is the author of the book, "Detroit Lions: An Illustrated Timeline." Advertisement Order your copy here.
