Altera Digital Health launches TouchWorks Note+ for clinical note generation
Altera Digital Health has launched TouchWorks Note+, an ambient listening and note generation solution intended to streamline the documentation process for healthcare providers. The new solution, which is fully integrated with TouchWorks EHR, represents an advancement in Altera's plan to develop AI and modernise electronic health record (EHR) workflows. TouchWorks Note+ is claimed to be the sole solution that seamlessly integrates and transforms provider inputs from ambient listening, voice dictation, text entry, and pre-set macros into structured and codified data suitable for clinical applications and billing purposes. The system captures ambient audio from both desktop and, in compatible setups, from mobile devices. It discreetly records natural conversations during clinical interactions, enabling healthcare providers to concentrate entirely on their patients and foster stronger connections, stated the company. Following the appointment, the solution produces a comprehensive, editable draft of notes for the provider to review and finalise with ease. Altera stated that the integration of the new solution with TouchWorks EHR eliminates the need for multiple logins or duplicate data entry. This approach standardises documentation across visits, leading to more efficient charting and improved accuracy and consistency in coding. As a result, practices can depend more reliably on the data for future applications. Furthermore, due to the proprietary AI coordination platform, Altera stated that it can utilise the most advanced current and future large language models (LLMs) to facilitate precise and efficient data processing across various specialities and modalities. Altera Digital Health chief medical officer Dr Jeanne Armstrong said: 'As a practising physician, I know firsthand the toll documentation can take on clinical time and cognitive load. 'TouchWorks Note+ reimagines the provider experience, allowing providers to stay present with patients while the technology works behind the scenes. It's not just about documentation efficiency. It's about restoring the human connection between provider and patient.' Altera described TouchWorks Note+ as the first in a series of planned AI-driven developments aimed at giving providers more time with patients by reducing time spent on documentation. Trella Health adds Repisodic to portfolio
Trella Health has expanded its solution portfolio by adding hospital discharge automation platform Repisodic, which is focused on patient-centred care transitions. This strategic move aims to enhance patient outcomes by integrating intelligent workflows with actionable insights. Trella Health general manager Tyler Rardin said: 'Hospital discharge remains one of the most challenging and disconnected points in the patient journey, with many organisations still relying on paper lists, faxes, and verbal handoffs that create avoidable inefficiencies. 'With Repisodic, we're expanding our data infrastructure further upstream — aligning insights, workflows, and decisions from discharge through post-acute recovery to deliver better outcomes for patients and their families.' Repisodic, established in 2017, has played a role in enhancing the hospital discharge process through its EHR-integrated automation platform. This platform aids health systems in improving care transitions and expediting discharges, leading to an increase in referrals to post-acute providers and a reduction in inpatient length of stay. With the merger, Trella Health's post-acute customers can enjoy new benefits. By combining Trella's data insights with discharge automation capabilities of Repisodic, the partnership fosters improved communication with hospital case managers and patients. It ensures real-time visibility into patient acuity, referrals, and provider capabilities, in line with payer contracts, post-acute capacity, and authorisation requirements. Repisodic CEO Mike Cwalinski said: 'Joining Trella allows us to scale that mission and drive even greater impact across the care continuum. Just this week, we launched our solution with another top-20 health system, connecting more than 1,400 post-acute providers with upstream access to patients and case managers at the point of discharge. 'Our health system footprint has grown almost 200% in the last 18 months and we expect that pace to accelerate significantly alongside Trella.' This merger positions Trella Health as a support system for more than 50 health systems and over 1,000 post-acute organisations across the country. The combined platforms now connect with more than 30 acute and post-acute EHR systems, laying a robust foundation for real-time collaboration in different care environments. Additionally, this move aligns with Trella's objective to create a healthcare data lake, which will boost AI-powered insights that enhance care coordination, optimise workflows, and promote value-based outcomes. Altera Digital Health launches intelligent faxing solution
Altera Digital Health has introduced Sunrise Health Record, an intelligent faxing solution that aims to enhance health information management (HIM) and reduce the inefficiencies associated with manual faxing. This new offering is integrated with the Sunrise electronic health record (EHR) platform and is available for hospitals and health systems using Sunrise 25.1, the latest version of the company's comprehensive EHR system. Sunrise 25.1 was made available for mid-size hospitals and health systems last month. Faxing continues to be widespread in the healthcare sector because of interoperability challenges and misunderstandings regarding the privacy and security of data exchanged over the internet. Despite this, conventional faxing frequently requires users to switch between different systems and revise documents, leading to labour-intensive manual processes and risks to data integrity that jeopardise patient safety and adherence to regulations. Sunrise Health Record addresses these issues by providing a modern user interface with features that streamline communication. These include the integration of faxing within HIM shortfall management, enabling staff to send deficiency notices directly within the workflow, and configurable inbound fax queues that automatically route faxes to the appropriate department or user. In addition, single-click outbound faxing eliminates the need to download, rename, or reupload files, and real-time audit trails ensure complete visibility of the faxing process. Altera Digital Health Sunrise group leader and executive vice-president Jay Adams said: 'By embedding these capabilities directly into Sunrise, we're helping hospitals reduce delays, cut down on manual effort and drive better outcomes across core operational workflows. 'Faxing may still be part of healthcare, but the frustration doesn't have to be. Hospitals need health IT solutions that not only offer efficiency but also enable their teams to put time and attention where they're most needed.' Regard launches proactive AI documentation platform
Regard has introduced an AI-driven proactive documentation platform designed to transform patient care and documentation processes in hospitals. The platform integrates patient chart data with conversations to provide diagnostic insights and generate draft notes before patient encounters. Clinicians often encounter a gap between the large amount of patient data and the actionable insights needed for diagnosis. This gap leaves many data points unnoticed and forces physicians to make decisions without comprehensive context. Regard's platform offers a proactive solution by providing immediate access to all relevant patient data, suggesting potential diagnoses, and generating accurate, comprehensive notes that align with health systems' administrative and clinical standards. The platform's proactive documentation approach uses AI to derive insights from chart data and in-room conversations, resulting in near-complete draft notes that mirror each physician's unique writing style. This diagnosis-first methodology supports both clinical and revenue cycle teams by ensuring precise documentation at the point of care. Regard's platform also features Max, an AI agent designed to assist clinicians in real-time and aid clinical workflows, providing answers to queries using patient data and summarising patient encounters. Max is engineered to bring a more humanised AI experience to the healthcare environment. Regard CEO Eli Ben-Joseph said: "Regard is the first product in the market that generates a complete medical note using data from conversations and data from within the medical record, intelligently meshing the two sources together. 'By uniting both voice and data, Regard enables better care, improves documentation needs, and increases earned revenue.' The updated platform of Regard features capabilities such as integrated ambient scribe functionality compatible with existing scribe systems, comprehensive diagnostic coverage for all specialities, and support for various documentation, including notes, discharge summaries, and attestations. Currently in use in over 150 hospitals, Regard's platform is already aiding health systems in reducing clinical documentation improvement (CDI) queries and generating additional revenue.
