Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay, 61, shoots husband of 20 years a loving look during rare date night in Cannes

Mariska Hargitay seemed to be inspired by old Hollywood glamor as she attended the annual Foundation for AIDS Research gala in Cannes Thursday night. The actress, 61, who has been at the film festival promoting her documentary My Mom Jayne, about her later mother, blonde bombshell Jayne Mansfield. The Law & Order: SVU star stepped out in a stunning white gown with a silver beaded halter neck and a short train from the French fashion house Patou. In keeping with her classic look, the Emmy winner had her thick, chestnut tresses styled in a sleek updo. She chose to let her natural beauty shine out wearing a sensuous smoky eye with a hint of blush and a soft pink lip. Hargitay accessorized with diamond earrings, rings, a bracelet and a purse from gala sponsor Chopard. Sharing the look on social media she thanked her makeup artist Georgi Sandev and hair stylist David von Cannon for their help in making her picture perfect for the fundraiser. Peter Hermann, 57, looked elegant in a black tuxedo and shirt, which highlighted his salt and pepper hair and beard. The couple, who have been married for more than 20 years and share three kids together, seemed like newlyweds, holding hands as they made their way toward the storied Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Sharing a photo of herself and Hermann on social media, Hargitay played off the couple's bridal look tagging the photo with #isaidyes, which many future brides use to announce their engagements. The pair met when Hermann was a guest star on SVU in 2002. Their son August, was born in 2006, and they adopted daughter Amaya and son Andrew, both 13, in 2011. All three kids accompanied their parents to Cannes, but Thursday night was a rare public date night for their mom and dad. Giving a shoutout to charitable organization, Hargitay wrote, 'Thank you @amfarfor the extraordinary work you do in the fight to end the global aids epidemic.' Since it's founding in 1985, 'amfAR has raised more than $920 million in support of its programs and has awarded more than 3,800 grants to research teams worldwide,' according to the organization's website. Hargitay directed and produced the documentary My Mom Jayne. The love letter to her late mother, who died in an automobile accident in 1967, received a four minute standing ovation after it was screened May 17. Deadline's Pete Hammond wrote in his review the film 'includes a very happy ending that just might have you in tears. It is indeed quite a ride, quite a life and quite an extraordinary film.' My Mom Jayne will begin streaming on Max June 27.

Singer Daria Yanina breaks nudity rules at Cannes Film Festival as she goes braless in a sheer dress despite new dress code

Singer Daria Yanina broke the nudity rules at Cannes Film Festival when she went braless on the red carpet. Attending the amfAR Gala, presented by Chopard, at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, the Russian musician, flouted this years guidance and wore a sheer dress. Hours before the two-week festival was due to kick off, organisers issued a statement banning nudity from both the red carpet and other areas of the event - prompting most female guests to play it safe. But while the move attempted to the stifle the celebrity trend for 'naked dresses,' few have still braved risqué ensembles. Daria opted for a pale blue chiffon gown, with a mesh top half, which was embellished with silver crystals. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. She layered nude underwear beneath the sheer skirt and topped off her outfit with a pair of clear heels. In a statement before the festival, organisers said: 'For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other areas of the festival. 'The festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.' The surprise new policy features in a recent festival-goers charter - released with a series of outlines regarding expected public behaviour. Guests are expected to converge on the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière for some of the highest profile film screenings across a packed seven day schedule in Cannes. It's understood that the iconic venue now adopts a more conservative dress code, with suits, dinner jackets and floor-length evening gowns generally favoured over headline grabbing ensembles. Classic little black dresses, cocktail dresses, pant-suits, dressy tops and elegant sandals, 'with or without a heel', will also be permitted. While the decision to implement a more stringent policy will be a first, it is not known if French TV broadcasters, wary of airing nudity, played a role in its enforcement. Major red carpet events, including the Cannes Film Festival, are aired in France by France Télévisions. Guests are playing it safe – some might say too safe – in strapless gowns that look classic or characterless, depending on your view. Amal Clooney (in John Galliano), Julianne Moore (custom Bottega Veneta) and Daisy Edgar-Jones (custom Gucci) looked elegant if interchangeable in black, while Angelina Jolie's strapless Brunello Cucinelli gown was nude of hue, though categorically not of fabric. However, another guest who decided to go against the guidance was Donald Trump Jr.'s ex-fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle. She appeared to be enjoying her single life as she flaunted her figure in a very risqué, fiery red dress while attending the 31st amFAR Gala in Cannes on Thursday. Kimberly, 56, walked the carpet wearing a long-sleeve gown which featured a very revealing top with much of her chest exposed behind a thin veil of mesh fabric. Floral and silk detailing was the only thing that prevented her baring all at the star-studded Gala. The waist of the gown was cinched, showing off her physique, while the envelope-style skirt showed off her trim pins with mesh, floral embroidered detailing. She paired the look with a pair of seriously high, silver bedazzled pumps that were dripping in gems. The former model completed the bold outfit with a metallic silver clutch by designer Valentino Garavani, whose bags typically retail for thousands of dollars, along with $510 large embellished earrings that appeared to be from Amina Muaddi. However, it's an ensemble that Kimberly already appeared to have worn once before. She wore th e bright red gown in an editorial spread last month, as she appeared on the April 2025 cover of Metropolitan Palm Beach, a luxury magazine. In the picture, Guilfoyle donned the dress, posing with one hand on her hip and giving a sultry look into the camera. The former Fox News host seems to be bouncing back from heartbreak, as broke the news that she had split from Don Jr. last winter. Around the time of their split, an insider told People that 'Don Jr. has been telling people for months that Kim is so uptight and always dresses so professionally in these kinds of dresses and high heels, and never looks relaxed or casual.' Guilfoyle and Don Jr. had been dating since around 2018, shortly after he had split from his first wife, Vanessa Trump. One source familiar with the family told at the time, 'There is no more Kimberly and Don – at least not romantically.' However, they insisted that there was no bad blood between them, and that it was an amicable breakup.

Alessandra Ambrosio exudes glamour in a plunging black gown as she joins stunning Shanina Shaik and Jessica Alba at Cannes gala

The red carpet was awash with glamorous stars on Thursday as celebrities attended the Red Sea Film Foundation's Women In Cinema Gala at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Leading the way was Alessandra Ambrosio, who put her phenomenal figure on display in a plunging gown with a velvet bodice and satin skirt. The garment cinched in at her slender waist and was embellished with silver brooches that matched the crystals on her long black gloves. The Victoria's Secret model, 44, finished off her look with chandelier earrings and towering peep-toe heels. Also dressed to impress was fellow VS model Shanina Shaik, 34, who turned heads in a low-cut silver dress that was encrusted with thousands of crystals and pearls. The long-sleeved gown also featured a racy thigh high split to show off the Australian star's toned pins and silver heels. Jessica Alba, 44, was also looking phenomenal for the evening, opting for a strapless black gown that she accessorised with a dazzling ruby necklace. She wasn't the only actress in attendance, with Eiza Gonzalez and Imogen Poots also making a glamorous entrance. Eiza, 35, looked radiant in a tan figure-hugging dress with a low-cut neckline that she paired with diamond jewellery. Imogen, 35, also looked sensational in a butter yellow gown adorned with sequins. The Red Sea Film Foundation hosted the Women in Cinema Gala to celebrate the achievements of emerging female talent in front of and behind the camera, who are redefining the film industry in the Arab World, Africa and Asia. It is one of the many star-studded events taking place during Cannes Film Festival. The Cannes Film Festival originally emerged in the World War II years, when the rise of fascism in Italy led to the founding of an alternative to the then-government controlled Venice Film Festival. In the time since, Cannes´ resolute commitment to cinema has made it a beacon to filmmakers. Countless directors have come to make their name. Alessandra's garment cinched in at her slender waist and was embellished with silver brooches that matched the crystals on her long black gloves Jessica Alba, 44, was also looking phenomenal for the evening, opting for a strapless black gown that she accessorised with a dazzling ruby necklace Eiza, 35, looked radiant in a tan figure-hugging dress with a low-cut neckline that she paired with diamond jewellery as she posed with Shanina This year is no different, though some of the first-time filmmakers at Cannes are already particularly well-known. Kristen Stewart (The Chronology of Water), Scarlett Johansson (Eleanor the Great) and Harris Dickinson (Urchin) will all be unveiling their feature directorial debuts in Cannes´ Un Certain Regard sidebar section. Many Cannes veterans will be back, too, including Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning), Robert De Niro - who´s to receive an honorary Palme d´Or 49 years after Taxi Driver premiered in Cannes - and Quentin Tarantino, to pay tribute to low-budget Western director George Sherman. Over recent years the star-studded extravaganza has arguably won more attention for the outfits worn by its celebrity guests than the roster of feature films being screened on the Croisette. But new nudity rules, devised for 'the sake of decency,' have been implemented at this year's festival. According to organisers, the austere move is an attempt to stifle the celebrity trend for 'naked dresses' - namely provocative outfits that reveal considerably more than they conceal - on the red carpet. 'For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as any other area of the festival,' states a Cannes festival document. 'The festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.' The surprise new policy features in a recent festival-goers charter - released with a series of outlines regarding expected public behaviour. While the decision to implement a more stringent policy will be a first, it is not known if French TV broadcasters, wary of airing nudity, played a role in its enforcement. Major red carpet events, including the Cannes Film Festival, are aired in France by France Télévisions Recently attracting more models and influencers than actors and filmmakers, the annual ceremony has seen an increase in risque red carpet fashion statements.

Halle Berry's Cannes red carpet outfit banned over strict new dress code

Halle Berry has revealed that she had to make a last-minute 'pivot' when it came to her outfit for the Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony as it disobeyed the controversial new dress code. As Cannes Film Festival's new dress code made waves yesterday, it has left many A-list celebs scrambling for new outfits to abide. And Halle Berry, who is on the festival's coveted jury this year, has admitted she had to make a last-minute switch-up when it came to her outfit for Tuesday evening's red carpet opening ceremony. In an update to the dress code this week, the festival banned full nudity and 'voluminous' outfits, writing on its official charter: 'For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival. Voluminous outfits, in particular those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theatre are not permitted." ‌ Talking at the Cannes press conference on Tuesday, alongside fellow jury member and succession actor Jeremy Strong, Halle admitted she was amongst those slightly blindsided by the new rules. "I had an amazing dress and I cannot wear it because the train is too big, so I, of course I'm going to follow the rules," she said with a sigh. ‌ "But, I had to make a pivot. But the nudity part I think is, probably, also a good rule," added Halle. The rule change comes after Julia Fox bared all in a see-through corset during the 2023 edition of the Cannes festival, alongside many others making some eyebrow-raising red carpet appearances over the years. While it's also hot off the heels of a string of controversial appearances from Bianca Censori, who wore a naked dress - leaving little to the imagination - to the 2025 Oscars, after several bizarre outfit choices. With a new outfit in toe, Halle is expected to walk the red carpet alongside the likes of Tom Cruise and Naomi Harris for the opening ceremony, which kicks off the ceremony and features a screening of new musical comedy film Leave One Day. Robert De Niro will also be awarded the the honorary Palme d'Or award for lifetime achievement at the ceremony. ‌ Later in the week, Tom Cruise will take to the red carpet for the highly-anticipated premiere of his new Mission Impossible movie, while others such as Eva Longoria, Heidi Klum and Bella Hadid are spending time on the Cote d'azur for the two-week long festival. For those looking to celeb-spot, hotels such as the Martinez, Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc and the Carlton Cannes, A Regent Hotel, are all housing the A-list this year for the festival. You can also head to hotspots such as the Carlton Cannes beach, Lucia Cannes and Copal Beach to try your luck at some parties across the week. While you may not make it inside, those A-Listers have to stumble out at some point...
