Helen Hunt rejects Hollywood beauty standards
Helen Hunt refuses to conform to Hollywood's beauty standards. The 61-year-old actress used to feel pressure to look a certain way - but her outlook has changed in recent years. Speaking to Flow Space, Helen explained: "It felt impossible not to internalise the way you're supposed to look. And [there was] a certain amount of misery and shame around not looking exactly that way." Helen realised that Hollywood's beauty standards were affecting her self-esteem. However, she now refuses to allow outside pressures to damage her mental health. The 'What Women Want' star said: "I realised, 'This could quietly ruin your whole life.' I made a decision: I'm not playing. Not gonna [let it] take up a lot of space in my mind." Helen's new approach has been heavily influenced by 'The Only Diet There Is', a book written by the spiritual leader Sondra Ray. The actress explained: "What I took from it, is eat what you want and love every bite, period." Meanwhile, Helen previously admitted to obsessing about her appearance in the 80s. The movie star felt under pressure to look a certain way at the time - but a change of attitude has proven to be transformational for her. She told HuffPost Live: "I had my run in the '80s about being really worried about how I looked. Everybody was more fit, or more thin, and I maxed out on worrying about it." Helen's change in attitude has benefited her mental and physical health. The actress - who has won a host of accolades during her career, including an Academy Award and four Golden Globes - reflected: "I just gave up on worrying about it. When I gave it up, my brain and body got better. "I was taking these exercise classes called 'abs, thighs, and buns' and I was like, 'I'm going to be dead one day — do I really want to give up an hour in this class?'"

Nicola Peltz branded 'very mean girl' amid ongoing Beckham family drama
Actress Bella Thorne seemingly hit out at Nicola Peltz years before her feud with her husband, Brooklyn Beckham's famous family, in a scathing rant Bella Thorne appears to have hit out at "very mean girl", Nicola Peltz in a scathing outburst. In recent weeks, Nicola's alleged behaviour has become the topic of conversation due to her strained relationship with her husband, Brooklyn Beckham's famous family. But in 2015, actress Bella hit out at a "mean girl" billionaire, and it has been speculated that the person she was talking about is socialite Nicola. At the time of her comments, Bella, 27, set tongues wagging over who she could have been talking about following her rather scathing comments. There had been speculation that she may have been talking about reality stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as well as their friend Gigi Hadid. At the time of her comments, Bella said she stayed away from the billionaire "at all costs" and said she "hated" the woman, not because of her wealth, but because of her attitude. "It's not I hate her because she's a billionaire," the actress said. She went on to add: "I don't like her because she is a billionaire and makes sure everyone knows that she is." Bella went on to add: "I never say hello to her. Her siblings are not mean like she is. It's just her." Speaking to HuffPostLive, she commented: "One of the reasons I don't like her is because she's been a billionaire since she was very little, and she's never had to work for anything in her life." Nicola has six brothers as well as a sister. She also has two half-siblings from her dad, Nelson Peltz's previous marriages. Peltz's father is a billionaire investor who initially started his career as a delivery truck driver before working his way up the ladder and launching one of the biggest food distribution companies in the world. His estimated net worth is believed to be around $1.6 billion, while her mother, Claudia Heffner Peltz, is also a former model. The Peltz family own a large estate in Bedford, New York, as well as another large estate in Florida. Bella's comments in 2015 came just a year after Nicola appeared alongside Thorne's ex-boyfriend, Greg Sulkin, in the independent movie Affluenza. At the time of her comments, speculation was rife over who the billionaire in question was. One social media user penned: "Bella might not have been singling out one girl, but if I had to pick one, I'm placing my bet on Nicola Peltz. Nicola is an actress around the same age as Bella so there could be some competition for roles there, she starred in a movie with Bella's current boyfriend Gregg so that could cause some problems, she has a ton of siblings (one who is also an actor), and she literally comes from a billionaire family." A second added: "The girl she was talking about is Nicola Peltz (from Transformers, Bates Motel). Nicola literally was born rich and now she's starting a career in the Hollywood industry. They always hated each other since a long time ago. Bella thoughts her siblings are good because she's a good friend of Will Peltz (her brother) but she still doesn't like Nicola." "She's talking about Nicola Pelt lmao," commented a third. Nicola is believed to be at loggerheads with her famous in-laws. Earlier this month, Nicola and Brooklyn jetted into London to celebrate David Beckham's 50th birthday, but eventually failed to attend any of the celebrations. A source close to Nicola, however, rejected claims that she had been controlling her husband. Speaking to the Mirror, a pal said: "We are at this point because Nicola, an outsider coming into the Beckham family, has been able to help Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behavior within his family, that it's not healthy and it's not normal and it's not ok." But a source close to the Beckham's lashed out at the claims and branded it a "deeply unpleasant attack". They said: "It doesn't even warrant a response it's so ludicrous and patently untrue." The Mirror approached Bella's spokesperson for comment.

Sarah Silverman Reveals How Conan O'Brien Saved Her Career After ‘SNL' Firing
Sarah Silverman shared how Conan O'Brien helped resurrect her career after being fired from 'Saturday Night Live' in her early 20s. Silverman joined the show's 19th season, which aired from 1993 to 1994. She was let go after just one year. During an appearance on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show on Thursday, Silverman described 'SNL' as 'magical' and 'amazing,' but said there are some very clear downsides. 'There is just something about it where they just have this energy that puts you in your place where you feel like a piece of shit and you're terrified,' Silverman said. 'And, the anxiety — it's very hard to be zen and chill there,' she said, telling Stern that 'Conan was the best thing for me.' 'His first year [on his show] was my first and only year at 'SNL,'' she said. 'And he put me on all the time, you know, even after I was fired ― all the time. And that was the start for me.' 'And I wouldn't have been able to be on Conan without 'SNL,'' Silverman added. 'It was an incredible kind of boot camp experience.' The experience was so incredible, the 'Maestro' actor said she was 'totally thrown for a loop when I was fired.' 'It never occurred to me that was possible,' Silverman said. 'But, I think it's definitely for the best.' During an appearance on HuffPost Live in 2013, the actor shared that she 'was hired at SNL and almost immediately fired,' and joked that she knows why. 'I wrote not a single funny sketch, so that might have something to do with it too' Silverman quipped of her time on the show, adding that 'the fact that Lorne Michaels saw anything in me at that age' was 'impressive.' 'I'm getting over it though, it's been 20 years,' Silverman joked. The comedian would later come back to host the show in October 2014, during the 40th season of 'Saturday Night Live.'
