Kevin Durant Refuses Credit for Knicks' Success in 2025 Playoffs
The New York Knicks have made it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 after dispatching the Boston Celtics in six games. The Knicks had been somewhat of a laughing stock for much of the last two decades or so, but have turned things around in recent years. Advertisement You might not have expected that to be the case, though, following the events of the 2019 offseason. The Knicks were heavily linked to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving back then, but both of them would end up going to the Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks would land Julius Randle as the consolation prize, and the two franchises seemed headed in opposite directions. Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant in action against the Dallas Mavericks at Footprint J. Rebilas-Imagn Images The Nets never ended up achieving anything of note during the Durant-Irving era, though, and are now in rebuild mode. The Knicks, meanwhile, stayed competitive and held on to their assets during that time, which enabled them to later make moves and put together the team they have today. Advertisement This group's success led to a fan on X claiming that the best thing that ever happened to the Knicks was Durant and Irving choosing to go to the Nets. Durant wasn't buying that, though, stating that the Knicks' success has nothing to do with him or Irving. Was the rejection in 2019 actually a blessing in disguise? We'll never quite know for sure. What we do know is that the Knicks are now just four wins away from getting to the NBA Finals. The Indiana Pacers are standing in their way, and Game 1 will be at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Related: Kevin Durant Called Out After Post During Chicago Sky, Indiana Fever Game

Angel Reese Makes Request Before Indiana Fever Game
Angel Reese Makes Request Before Indiana Fever Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is in her second WNBA season. An All-Star in her rookie campaign, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds. She finished second in Rookie of the Year voting to Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, receiving one of the 67 total votes. Advertisement Reese's numbers have been down so far this season. Through six games, the former LSU star has averaged 10.0 points and 12.3 rebounds. Her field goal percentage has also gone from 39.1% last season to 31.1% so far this year. Currently riding a modest two-game winning streak, both of which came against the Dallas Wings, the Sky are preparing to host Indiana on Saturday. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Indiana blew out Chicago on opening weekend, securing a 93-58 win behind Clark's triple-double. Saturday's game will not be another chapter of the Clark-Reese battle, as Indiana's star sophomore is sidelined with a quad injury. Ahead of this contest, Reese made a post on X that could possibly be related to her next game day outfit. Expressing frustration over "heel brands" often cutting off their sizes at nine, Reese requested a few bigger sizes. Advertisement "let's normalize for the heel brands to stop ending at a size 9 and give us them 11s, 12s, and 13s pleaseeeee," she wrote. In a November, 2024 episode of her Unapologetically Angel podcast, Reese told Funny Marco she wears a size 10.5 shoe. With this being the case, she obviously cannot find her size in heel brands that stop producing their shoes at a size nine. NBA Legend Allen Iverson Makes Opinion of Angel Reese Extremely Clear
NBA Legend Allen Iverson Makes Opinion of Angel Reese Extremely Clear originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is putting together another strong campaign during the 2025 WNBA season. The former No. 7 overall pick is averaging 10.0 points and a league-leading 12.3 rebounds through six games, leading her team to a 2-4 record. Advertisement Last season, Reese enjoyed a historic rookie year as she made both the 2024 WNBA All-Star team as well as the All-Rookie team. She contributed 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per night for the 13-27 Sky, the latter of which was a WNBA record. As a result of her success, Reese signed with several major brands during the offseason like Amazon, McDonald's and Reebok. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Patrick Gorski-Imagn Images Legendary NBA guard Allen Iverson first popularized Reebok in the basketball space when he signed a lifetime deal with the company in 2001. He went on to play 10 more professional seasons with Reebok as his sponsor, and he made the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. Advertisement On Wednesday, Iverson did an exclusive interview with and he was asked about Sky forward and fellow Reebok signee Angel Reese. The 11-time NBA All-Star made his opinion on Reese extremely clear during the discussion. "I love everything about her," Iverson said. "I love what she stands for. She reminds me of my little sister. She's dope to me. She reminds me of myself, hoop-wise and on a personal level too." Iverson won the NBA MVP award during the 2000-01 season and made seven All-NBA teams. He also led the league in scoring on four occasions and was the NBA steal leader three times during his 14-year career. Reese has a long way to go if she wants to match Iverson's success at the professional level, but she is already on the right track. Advertisement She earned the Defensive Player of the Year award and won the inaugural Unrivaled Championship this offseason, and already has a WNBA All-Star and All-Rookie nod under her belt. Her signature sneaker with Reebok is also set to release sometime in 2026.
