The Chicago Sky fell to the Indiana Fever on Saturday evening at United Center. It was the second time this season these two teams have played, both of which resulted in blowout losses for Chicago.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was sidelined for this contest due to a quad injury. Unfortunately for the Sky, they were also dealt an injury blow just minutes into the game. Veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot, who is Chicago's all-time leader in points, went down with what appeared to be a leg injury.
Vandersloot was helped off the floor and did not return to the game.
There was understandable concern among the fanbase about a serious injury, and the Sky have since confirmed that to be the case.
"Courtney Vandersloot underwent an MRI yesterday that revealed a right torn anterior crucial ligament (ACL), an injury she sustained in the June 7th game against Indiana," the team wrote on X. "Vandersloot will miss the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season and undergo surgery to repair the injury. All of Skytown is behind you Sloot!"

Among those reacting to the news was Sky star Angel Reese who posted a three-word message on her Instagram story:
"LOVE YOU 22," she wrote.

Vandersloot, now 36 years old, is in her 15th WNBA season. She is a five-time All-Star and seven-time assists champion. While she is no longer in her prime, the veteran still averaged 10.6 points and 5.3 assists in seven games this season, which includes Saturday's game in which she logged just over four minutes.

Rob Gronkowski says he will sign a one-day contract to retire (again) as a Patriot

Rob Gronkowski first retired from the NFL in 2019 as a member of the New England Patriots. The future Hall of Fame tight end retired again in 2022 as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And even though he hasn't played in the league since then, it appears that Gronk will retire one more time, again as a member of the Patriots. The idea of Gronkowski signing a ceremonial one-day contract with the team that he helped win three Super Bowls was floated publicly Tuesday by Susan Hurley, the founder and president of the CharityTeams fundraising firm for nonprofits. Hurley was speaking at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly built 'Gronk Playground' on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston when she threw in a personal plea toward Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who was sitting behind Hurley next to Gronkowski. 'Can we just make it official and sign [Gronkowski] for a day so he can retire as a Patriot?' Hurley asked before looking in Kraft's direction and adding, 'What do you say?' Gronkowski applauded and nodded while looking in Kraft's direction. The owner, who was off camera at the time, apparently gave his approval, as Gronkowski later confirmed to reporters. '[Kraft] gave her a thumbs up, so we're going to make it happen in the future and it's gonna be a special moment,' the five-time Pro Bowl selection said. 'Come back for a day, a weekend, whatever it is. So we'll make it happen and it will be a really, really cool moment. It's gonna happen, we just don't know when.' The Patriots have not announced such a move and did not respond immediately on Thursday to The Times' request to comment. On Wednesday, a somewhat less official announcement came on the Instagram account of the 'Dudes on Dudes' podcast hosted by Gronkowski and former Patriots teammate Julian Edelmen. 'Gronk will sign a one day contract and retire a New England Patriot,' read the post that was accompanied by a video that featured Gronkowski speaking on the podcast about being drafted by the Patriots. The video doesn't mention anything about him signing a one-day contract with the team, but it does feature a graphic that reads: 'Breaking — Gronk will retire a New England Patriot.' New England selected Gronkowski in the second round of the 2010 draft. He became a key and beloved member of the team's dynasty under coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. After Brady left for Tampa Bay before the 2020 season, Gronkowski came out of retirement to join him and ended up winning his fourth career Super Bowl that year.

Serena Williams Shows Off Her Figure in Bright Yellow Swimsuit After Announcing Weight Loss from GLP-1

NEED TO KNOW Serena Williams posed confidently for a series of swimsuit photos seen in an Instagram carousel uploaded on Thursday, Aug. 21 The tennis star's post came soon after she discussed her successful weight loss, revealing that she used a GLP-1 medication to help and has since lost over 31 lbs. Williams also opened up about body positivity, her self-confidence and losing the weight Serena Williams is radiating both inside and out! The retired tennis star, 43, confidently shined in a yellow bathing suit for a series of Instagram photos shared shortly after she opened up to PEOPLE about her weight loss journey with a GLP-1 medication during an exclusive interview. The images featured Williams striking several poses while standing in knee-deep waters, wearing a yellow, one-piece swimsuit with a cutout in the center and an untied bowtie. She accessorized with a green bandana around her neck and black shades. The 23-time Grand Slam champion stood strong, smiling with her hands on her hips in the first shot, spread her arms out wide for the playful, candid second snap and turned slightly profile with her arm back down by her side for a third picture. She added a selfie of herself to conclude her carousel, which showed off floral details on her green bandana and accessories. She threw her hand up into the air, freely, while her blonde tendrils gently blew in her face. "melanin mellow-yellow ⚠️," she captioned the Instagram carousel, uploaded on Thursday, Aug. 21. Prior to her Instagram post, the tennis icon — who shares Olympia, 6, and Adira, 1, with her husband, Alexis Ohanian — opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing that she has been using a GLP-1 medication to help with weight loss and has since lost over 31 lbs. "I feel great," she told PEOPLE exclusively in August. "I feel really good and healthy. I feel light physically and light mentally." Williams says her struggle with weight began after she gave birth to her first daughter, Olympia, in 2017, and her body started to change postpartum. "I never was able to get to the weight I needed to be, no matter what I did, no matter how much I trained,' she explained. "It was crazy because I'd never been in a place like that in my life where I worked so hard, ate so healthy and could never get down to where I needed to be at." The decorated athlete noted how she's always put in the physical work, but the outcome was different post-pregnancy. "I had never taken shortcuts in my career and always worked really hard. I know what it takes to be the best," she made known. "So it was very frustrating to do all the same things and never be able to change that number on the scale or the way my body looked." Williams welcomed her second child, daughter Adira River, in August 2023, and experienced similar struggles to her first after giving birth again. She was able to lose a lot of weight in two weeks, but then remained stagnant afterwards. "I never lost another pound," she revealed. That's when she decided to turn to Ro, a direct-to-patient healthcare company, for additional support with a GLP-1 treatment. GLP-1 is short for glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, which work in the brain to impact satiety. Popular brands include Ozempic and Mounjaro. Prior to using it, Williams said she "did a lot of research on it" to understand the benefits and additional positive and/or negative effects, and also confided in her doctor to ensure it was right for her. The Olympic gold medalist was able to start the weekly injections about six months after Adira was born, when she stopped breastfeeding in early 2024. Since her weight loss, she said she feels better than ever. "I just can do more. I'm more active. My joints don't hurt as much," she shared, though noted that her confidence and self-love has stayed the same. "Weight loss should never really change your self image," she told PEOPLE. "Women often experience judgment about their bodies at any size, and I'm no stranger to that. So I feel like you should love yourself at any size and any look." Read the original article on People

Paige Spiranac's Outfit At PGA Tour Thursday Has Everyone's Attention

Social media influencer Paige Spiranac is at East Lake Golf Club this Thursday to cover the 2025 Tour Championship. Spiranac currently has 6.7 million followers across Instagram, TikTok and X. Before becoming a fan favorite on social media, she played college golf at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University. She earned All-Mountain West honors in 2013 and 2014. We also can't forget that she led the Aztecs to a conference title. For the past few months, golf fans have been begging for the PGA Tour to collaborate with Spiranac. They want to see her on the course interviewing some of the top players in the game. Well, it sounds like they're going to get their wish. Spiranac revealed that she's covering the Tour Championship with PGA Tour Live. "I'll be on the course today with PGA Tour Live! Make sure to tune in," Spiranac wrote on X. Spiranac's fans are amped up about this announcement. "Golf just got a lot more watchable," one fan said. "Super happy for you Paige," a second fan commented. "Good luck." "Keep up the great work and insight, Paige Spiranac," another fan wrote. "That's what I'm talking about! Coolest reporter out there," a social media user added. Could Spiranac become a big-time reporter for the PGA Tour? Obviously, Spiranac understands the ins and outs of the game very well. Although she didn't play at the pro level for long, she competed on the developmental Cactus Tour as well as LPGA qualifiers. "There's something about the game of golf that makes you addicted to it but also makes you feel like the most worthless human being ever when you have a bad round," Spiranac said in a recent video. "I've been working with a therapist on this. I love golf so much, but sometimes, I just can't break through. It eats at me, and I know so many others can relate to this." We're not ready to say Spiranac has what it takes to be the next Amanda Balionis, but make no mistake about it, she has plenty of fans in her corner. Only time will tell if Spiranac becomes a reporter for the PGA Tour. This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 21, 2025, where it first appeared in the Golf section.
