Man takes loan from girlfriend, gets brother to loot her flat to repay
Kolkata: An IT-sector employee, and his brother, were arrested by Baguiati cops for theft of items worth Rs 5 lakh from the former's girlfriend's residence at Deshabandhu Nagar in Baguiati. Accused Shyamcharan Das reportedly took advantage of his girlfriend's business trip to Sikkim and gave the rented flat's keys to his brother Ramcharan, asking him to steal gold jewellery. He directed his brother to the exact spots where the gold was kept in the flat that he often visited. Shyamcharan himself travelled to Sikkim to meet his girlfriend, ensuring he was not seen as a suspect. By the time the trip was over and the theft was discovered on May 30, the woman lodged an FIR against the servants of the building. However, cops checked CCTV footage and identified Shyamcharan's scooty at the crime scene. It was being used by Ramcharan. "On being questioned, Shyamcharan confessed to planning the crime," said an officer. Shyamcharan borrowed Rs 1.5 lakh from the victim and was under pressure to return the money. He planned to sell the jewellery to return the loan and pocket the rest. Shyamcharan and Ramcharan often visited the flat, and no one suspected their involvement. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free Iphone Promos Happening Today Only (See Now) GoSearches | Search Ads Learn More Undo The stolen items included two necklaces, two bracelets, four earrings, four lockets, and Rs 60,000 in cash. Ludhiana: 4th member of train theft gang arrested, iPhone recovered
The Government Railway Police has recovered an Iphone 16 from the fourth member of an inter-state gang of thieves busted last week for stealing gold jewellery and valuables from train passengers. The fourth member identified as Balbir Singh (52) of the gang surrendered at the Government Railway Police (GRP) station on June 12 after the police nabbed the other three members and increased pressure on him by raiding his home in Haryana's Jind district. 'He surrendered after we pressured him through our raids. He informed us about the phone and we recovered it from his village, Lochab in Jind,' said inspector Palwinder Singh, incharge GRP Ludhiana. On June 7 the GRP had arrested three members in the theft case, where a family was robbed of gold jewellery worth ₹23 lakh and a brand-new iPhone while returning from a wedding on May 30. The complaint was filed by Arpana, a resident of Ludhiana. She informed police that her family, including her son and newly-wed daughter-in-law, had boarded a train from their village in Bihar to Ludhiana after attending a wedding. During the journey, unknown miscreants stole a bag containing gold jewellery and an Iphone. The GRP on June 11 had recovered gold worth ₹8 lakh after interrogation of the three members arrested earlier. Inspector Palwinder said that Balbir has revealed that the rest of the gold was with a gold smith, who is a contact of one of the thieves arrested earlier. 'Those three are now in judicial custody. We will seek their remand and try to recover the remaining gold as well,' added the Inspector.

Wh Announces $1.2T In Economic Commitment With Qatar, Including Significant Boeing Order "I had a little problem with Tim Cook yesterday," Trump said. "I said to him, 'Tim, you're my friend, I've treated you very good. You're coming in with $500 billion, but now I hear you're building all over India. I don't want you building in India. You can build in India if you want to take care of India, because India is one of the highest-tariff nations in the world,'" Trump said. "But I said to Tim, I said, 'Tim, look we've treated you really good. We put up with all the plants that you build in China for years. Now you got to build us. We're not interested in you building in India, India can take care of themselves, they're doing very well. We want you to build here.'" As for iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Airpods sold in the U.S., "almost all" of those will have Vietnam as their country of origin, according to the Apple CEO. Spotify updating app for US users after court ruling in Apple case
Streaming giant Spotify on Friday announced that Apple approved an app update it submitted to revise how the music streaming service displays its pricing information and purchase links after a judge ordered the iPhone maker to give app developers more ability to communicate with their customers. A federal judge on Wednesday issued an order that found Apple was in "willful violation" of a 2021 injunction and was now required to stop restricting how app developers can communicate information to app users about pricing, subscription options and more. The case was brought by Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite, and the ruling prevents Apple from charging commissions on off-app purchases. "In a victory for consumers, artists, creators, and authors, Apple has approved Spotify's U.S. app update," Spotify said in a statement. "After nearly a decade, this will finally allow us to freely show clear pricing information and links to purchase, fostering transparency and choice for U.S. consumers." "We can now give consumers lower prices, more control, and easier access to the Spotify experience. There is more work to do, but today represents a significant milestone for developers and entrepreneurs everywhere who want to build and compete on a more level playing field," the company said. Users can also click within the app on a preferred subscription of their choice to upgrade from a free account to one of the platform's premium plans. They may also change premium subscriptions to suit their needs, such as switching from an individual to a student, duo, or family plan. Spotify also signaled that the new update "opens the door to other seamless buying opportunities that will directly benefit creators (think easy-to-purchase audiobooks)." Spotify has long criticized Apple's App Store policies. The company said in a release that, "Meaningful parts of Apple's anticompetitive barriers have been removed, and it's long overdue – this should be table stakes for doing business not only in the U.S., but in every corner of the world." Apple indicated that it "strongly disagrees" with the judge's ruling and plans to appeal, though it will comply with the court order in the article source: Spotify updating app for US users after court ruling in Apple case Error in retrieving data Sign in to access your portfolio Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data

Good news for India from US, will shock China! linked to Ratan Tata's company, it's about…
(File) There is good news for India from the U.S. as Apple is planning to manufacture the majority of its iPhones for the American market in India. Majority of Iphones are produced in India. This decision is taken after rising taxes and geopolitical risks in China. According to media reports, Apple is planning to complete this shift by the end of 2026, and reduce dependency on China. The company is in advanced discussions with its contract manufacturers like Foxconn and Tata Group in India. According to which they want to increase the production in the country. However, there is no official comment on this news given by Apple nor Foxconn. Apple Manufacturing In India Currently, Apple sells over 60 million iPhones annually in the U.S. out of which 80% of these are made in China. India's PM Narendra Modi saw a dream to develop the country as a global smartphone manufacturing hub. However due to the higher import duties on mobile parts in India Iphone make manufacturing is 5-8% costlier than China. In some cases the cost gap reaches up to 10% in some cases. Still Apple has increased manufacturing in India to reduce tariffs imposed by the former U.S. President Donald Trump on China. In March 2025, Apple shipped nearly 600 tons of iPhones from India to the U.S., valued at for $2 billion. This was a record of shipment for both Tata and Foxconn, with Foxconn alone contributing $1.3 billion worth of smartphones. In April, the U.S. imposed a 26% duty on imports from India, which was lower than the over 100% duty on Chinese imports. Lateron these tariffs on non-Chinese countries were paused for three months, But Trump continued tariffs for China so the trade war between the U.S. and China continues and it's not beneficial for the companies like iphone. As reported by the Financial Times , Apple is expanding its manufacturing outside China and India is the top player among them.
