Guernsey FC relegated despite 3-0 win during final game of season

Guernsey FC will be relegated from the Isthmian South Central league despite winning 3-0 in their final game of the season. The Green Lions beat Harrow Borough away on Saturday afternoon (26 April) but other games within the league meant they couldn't break above the relegation line. Nearest rivals, Metropolitan Police, won their game against Sutton Common Rovers (2-0) which secured their survival and ensuring Guernsey went down. It means they end the season on 42 points - just one below Binfield who sit in the last of the safe positions. Jacob Fallaize scored the Lion's first goal during the 15th minute giving Guernsey an early lead. Fin Du Port doubled that lead in the 44th minute thanks to a cross from Brandon Wallace The final goal came from Charlton Gauvain just two minutes into the second half.

Guernsey FC thrashed 7-0 by leaders Farnham Town

Guernsey FC suffered the second-biggest loss in their history as they were thrashed 7-0 at Isthmian league South Central's runaway leaders Farnham Town. A youthful Green Lions side conceded four first-half goals before letting in three more after the break as they occupy the final relegation place in the division. They are a point off 18th-placed South Park with a game in hand, but their goal difference is now seven worse than their opponents after the defeat at the Memorial Ground. Jordan Gallagher gave the hosts a 14th-minute lead before Sam De St Croix doubled the advantage 10 minutes later for Farnham, who are 12 points clear at the top. Gallagher completed his hat-trick before half time as he reacted quickest to Harry Cooksley's 28th-minute shot that was saved before he converted Great Evans' cross seven minutes before the break. Gallagher got his fourth, and Farnham's fifth, six minutes into the second half as he curled into the top corner before De St Croix and Kai Tanner each found the net in a three-minute period with 15 minutes to go. Guernsey's record loss is 8-0, which they have suffered twice - against Merstham in November 2014 and Basingstoke Town in December 2022. They face fourth-placed Ascot United on Saturday in the final game at Footes Lane before they move to their new home at Victoria Park. Guernsey FC

Agutter spells out how Worthing have best chance of winning title

Chris Agutter says it is all about the team ethic for Worthing as they push for the title. The Rebels boss expects a tough test from Bath City at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium tonight (7.45pm). A win would take Rebels second in Vanarama National League south, a point behind Dorking Wanderers. But they will be aware such scripts are not always followed, as was shown against Farnborough last week. They bounced back on Saturday with a last-gasp win at Chelmsford with Bath were holding Eastbourne Borough to an ugly 0-0 draw. Agutter said: 'It will be the team that gets us over the line. 'A lot of individuals before Christmas got us into an amazing position. 'Loads of 4-3s and 3-2s and Danny Cashman at Boreham Wood and Jack Spong away at Weston. 'Whereas after Christmas, where we have been on this great run, the team is doing that. 'It will be the team over this final stretch that will give us the best chance to win the league.'. Tuesday (7.45pm unless stated) Sky Bet League One: Lincoln City v Crawley Town. Vanarama National League, south: Worthing v Bath City. Sussex Transport Senior Cup, semi-finals: Eastbourne Borough v Littlehampton (7.30pm, Culver Road). Isthmian League, premier division: Chatham v Hastings. Isthmian, south east: East Grinstead v Hythe (7.30pm), Beckenham v Three Bridges, Deal v Steyning. Southern Combination, premier: Crawley Down Gatwick v Pagham (7.30pm), Lingfield v Loxwood, Midhurst v Roffey.
