JNTUH observes National Handloom Day, celebrates India's textile legacy
Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) commemorated National Handloom Day 2025 with a spirited tribute to India's rich handloom heritage and the artisans who preserve it. The event, held in the open area in front of the Administrative Building on Thursday, brought together a wide cross-section of the university community in a show of cultural pride and solidarity. Principals of constituent colleges, Heads of Departments, faculty, and non-teaching staff—including outsourced and contract employees—participated in large numbers, many dressed in handloom and Khadi attire. The program was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor and attended by University Rector Dr. K. Vijayakumar Reddy and Registrar Prof. K. Venkateswara Rao. The NSS Cell, under the guidance of Coordinator Dr. S. Shobharani, organized the event.

Anti-drug awareness programme held at JNTUH
Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) and University College of Engineering Science and Technology Hyderabad (UCESTH) organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme on Tuesday in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which is celebrated annually on June 26. Abhish Chakrabarty, the Superintendent of the Narcotics Control Bureau for the Hyderabad Zone, was the chief guest at the event. He addressed the students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, detailing various physical health problems, including organ damage, reduced immunity, and psychological issues. He also discussed mood swings, social isolation, potential job or educational losses, legal consequences such as imprisonment or fines, and the negative impact on financial stability. Chakrabarty also highlighted the support systems available to drug addicts through both Central and State Governments. The College Principal, Prof. G.V. Narasimha Reddy, emphasized the importance of making students aware of the narcotics trade that occurs across international borders and discussed the challenges involved in controlling drug supply. He conveyed a strong message: 'Say 'No' to Drugs.'

EAPCET 2025 results: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy releases EAPCET result
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has released the results of Telangana Engineering Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (EAPCET) 2025 in Hyderabad at his residence on Sunday (May 11, 2025). Candidates can access their result on A total of 2,20,327 for Engineering and about 81,000 candidates had taken the computer-based test, conducted on April 29 and 30 (for Agriculture and Pharmacy streams), and May 2 to 5 (for Engineering stream). The much-anticipated results have brought forth stellar performances from students across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Palla Bharath Chandra from Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the state topper in the Engineering stream, while Saketh Reddy Peddakkagari from Hyderabad clinched the top rank in the Agriculture and Pharmacy stream. The TG EAPCET 2025 examination was conducted smoothly from April 29 to May 4, 2025, across various test centers in the state. JNTUH, the exam-conducting authority, confirmed the results release through an official press statement issued earlier this week. A total of 2,07,190 candidates appeared for the Engineering stream in the TG EAPCET 2025, with 1,51,779 successfully qualifying. In the Agriculture and Pharmacy streams, 81,198 candidates took the exam, out of which 71,309 qualified for further rounds. During the press briefing, CM Revanth Reddy not only announced the top ranks in both streams but also unveiled the complete list of the top 10 rank holders and attendance statistics. These details are crucial as they reflect the overall participation and performance trends for this year's competitive entrance exam. Click on the "TG EAPCET 2025 Result" link. Enter the required credentials: Registration number, Hall Ticket number, and Date of Birth. Click "Submit" to view the result. Download and print the scorecard for future use. Alternatively, candidates can click on the link provided to download the TG EAPCET 2025 marksheets. However, this criterion is waived for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.
