S Club's Jo O'Meara, 46, glams up as she reveals she's headed on a date after 17 YEARS of being single

Jo O'Meara showed off her glamorous makeover on Monday as she revealed she was heading on a date with a mystery man. The S Club star, 46, looked incredible in a slew of selfies after styling her ice blonde locks in a tousled bob and accentuating her striking features with eyeliner and hot pink lipstick. Jo looked effortlessly chic in the snaps as she paired a taupe top with a keyhole cut out on the bodice and fitted jeans. The mother-of-one shared the pictures with her 70,000 Instagram followers as she revealed: 'Off into town! I have a date #mondayfunday'. While Jo did not reveal who was her mystery date, it marks a major shift in her attitude, having previously insisted that she had 'no interest' in dating. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Jo became single shortly after having her son Lenny, 17, with ex partner Bill Slate and in a previous interview admitted that she is not looking for a relationship. The BRIT-award winning singer split from Bill after two years and little is known about their relationship other than that they co-parented 'amicably'. She said in 2022: 'I've been on my own for 14 years. Don't get me wrong, I've had little kisses and smooches here and there but nothing serious. 'I haven't been in a relationship since Lenny's father and I like being single and on my own. I haven't tried dating apps either, because I'm not interested. I've got two rescue dogs, my career, and a son who I love. I'm happy with that.' The Have You Ever hitmaker also joked that she has enough on her hands with a teenage son but explained that she would 'never' introduce him to someone she wasn't serious about. She said: 'I'm also wary when it comes to men because I have a teenager, so would never introduce a man to him unless I was going to marry him. Plus, I don't fancy picking up anyone else's pants – picking up my son's is enough!' Last year, Jo was teased about her pickiness by bandmate Jon Lee, with the pair joking about her 'sexuality' during a boozy night out in December. In a humorous video, Jon said: 'Jo, you've just come out recently... What's your sexuality at the minute?' She responded: 'I'm Autosexual,' before bursting into laughter and asking: 'What does it mean Jon?' He then jokingly replied: 'It means you're a w***er because you find yourself more attractive than anyone else.' Jo's decision to date comes amid a slew of health woes for the singer. The Bring It All Back hitmaker revealed she had been rushed to hospital last month following years of issues with her back. Jo took to her Instagram Story to share a selfie - looking downcast - while lying in a hospital bed. Alongside her picture she penned: 'Back in hospital! The back is back! I didn't expect to be in here today'. While the exact cause for her admission is unclear, Jo had emergency surgery on her back in November 2022 to remove a disc and had to cancel gigs at the time including Fife Pride as a result. At the time she revealed that she was 'devastated' and in a 'horrendous' amount of pain after the operation didn't work quite as well as expected. She was back in hospital shortly after a previous visit and posted a picture of her drip with the caption: 'When am I gonna get a break ?? I really thought I was on the road to recovery. '4am this morning the pain was the worst it's been yet! So here we are again ! I am devastated.' She added no more information as to when she might be out or news of a possible remedy. On October 25 Jo revealed the first operation hadn't worked. Speaking from her bed in an Instagram video she said she has to go back for more surgery after a recent MRI and said she feels like she's 'in a really bad place' at the moment. 'As you can see I'm back in bed. That is because the back is playing games again,' she said in a clip. 'The pain has been absolutely horrendous and today I got some MRI scan results back that wasn't the result I wanted. 'I've actually got to go back into hospital for further surgery on my back which I'm absolutely devastated about to be honest. The pain is… horrendous.' Jo admitted her injury was taking its toll on her mental health as she said: 'And it's been making me feel really quite in a bad place if I'm being honest.' 'I've felt really low. The last few days have been really tough but I'm hopefully with this next surgery, I will be back fighting fit and ready to get out there again so positive thinking.' She captioned her post: 'So I got the MRI scan results I didn't want to see, and I am going to have to go back in for another back operation to try and get it fixed! I'm totally gutted that it didn't work the first time, but my back is in a bit of a mess to be honest!' She then thanked fans for their support, writing: 'Thank you for all your love and support you continue to show me! And don't forget it's almost Halloween @ that means one thing!! Stream 'Thriller'! I love you all very much.'
