Tracking the NYC Restaurants in ‘And Just Like That...' Season 3, Episode 9
is a born-and-raised New Yorker who is an editor for Eater's Northeast region and Eater New York, was the former Eater Austin editor for 10 years, and often writes about food and pop culture. And just like that, HBO Max's Sex and the City sequel series returns for its third season. And Just Like That... brings back our long-time New Yorkers Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), as well as relative newcomers Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker), to our televisions and laptops. What is summer without our gals talking candidly about sex, making bad puns, and dining and drinking around the city? Like previous seasons, Eater will be tracking where the gang is eating across New York City, from brunch sessions to romantic dinners to cocktail dates. This guide will be updated weekly when each episode airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m., leading up to the finale. And we're saying it now: there will be spoilers ahead. Episode 9, 'Present Tense' THE THING THAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR HAPPENED. The women are finally saying the things they want to say, and the plots actually move forward. Hooray: Carrie and Aidan are no longer. They've been grappling with old habits, resentment, and trust issues. Aidan can't get over Carrie cheating on him a billion years ago and the fact that she's hanging out with someone who gets her writer sensibilities and smokes a pipe (remember his whole anti-cigarettes thing from before?). And Carrie is shrinking herself to be right for him. So, they break up while an on-the-nose Taylor Swift song plays. 'Present Tense' is a decent episode among a spate of duds, thanks to a lot of callbacks to Sex and the City that made the original series enjoyable. Carrie and Duncan's relationship recalls her failed tryst with novelist Berger and the scrunchie debate, while the slapstick comedy antics of Charlotte navigating her vertigo and Harry's post-surgery bulge remind me of the plot where they both get food poisoning. 100 East 63rd Street, near Park Avenue, Upper East Side (For context: Seema and hot gardener Adam are still debating the merits of deodorant versus crystals, so she tries it his way and rubs said rock against her armpits.) Seema rushes over to chef Daniel Boulud's restaurant (which is playacting as a spot called Pelican — maybe the show couldn't get the rights to use the name?) to meet a client. She pre-orders a truffle pizza, and the guy comments on whether the server has 'body order' (oh god), and Seema realizes it's her. She heads to the bathroom, which is occupied, so she takes out emergency deodorant (doesn't everyone have one of those in their bags?) and slathers it on in public without embarrassment. 253 West 11th Street at West Fourth Street, West Village Aidan texts Carrie while she's shoe shopping, asking if she wants to meet for lunch at 'that place we love' — it's the second reference to a neighborhood spot they frequent this season. It turns out to be the longtime West Village bistro (not to be confused with the San Francisco-based bakery chain of the same name). Aidan's already there, sitting at a patio table near the door, and orders them iced teas. They have an honest conversation about his trust issues and her frustration that everything she's doing for their relationship will never be enough. Their tenses reveal how they feel about their relationship, speaking in the past rather than the present. And just like that, they're done. Cue Taylor Swift's 'How Did It End?' 113 Greenwich Avenue, at Jane Street, West Village The real Carrie Bradshaw is back: she's in a hot dress walking along the cobblestone streets of the West Village, meeting her friends at the Italian restaurant. We're peering into the restaurant from the outside, seeing Carrie greet each of her friends as if she's returning after a long time away. Tracking the NYC Restaurants in ‘And Just Like That...' Season 3, Episode 8
is a born-and-raised New Yorker who is an editor for Eater's Northeast region and Eater New York, was the former Eater Austin editor for 10 years, and often writes about food and pop culture. And just like that, HBO Max's Sex and the City sequel series returns for its third season. This guide will be updated weekly when each episode airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m., leading up to the finale. And we're saying it now: there will be spoilers ahead. Episode 8, 'Happy Ever After It's Aidan's turn to visit Carrie, and he's staying with Carrie for a couple of days. He's clearly jealous of the downstairs neighbor, whom he still calls Dunkin' Donuts. Carrie is adamant that the couple doesn't hang out with Duncan, her guilt from the previous episode seeping into this one. Miranda questions her sobriety over a special bottle of Ungava gin from Quebec, but ultimately decides she doesn't want to drink. Charlotte's prepping for an art show that depicts what happiness is at various ages, and discovers her vertigo is back. Lisa is work-flirting with her hottie editor, attempting to coin the phrase 'flirking.' There's also a scene where ripe papaya and kale salads are stand-ins for hot and boring sex. Seema is having fun with Carrie's gardener, but realizes they are very different. 118 Greenwich Avenue, at West 13th Street, West Village Seema goes out for a pre-art gallery opening date with Carrie's hot gardener, Adam, at this New American restaurant. While they sip their espresso from their table in the middle of the dining room, they watch in horror as someone at a booth puts on deodorant out in the open (that's what restrooms are for?). Seema learns that Adam is very hippie and that his last name is Karma (for real). Tracking the NYC Restaurants in ‘And Just Like That...' Season 3, Episode 7
is a born-and-raised New Yorker who is an editor for Eater's Northeast region and Eater New York, was the former Eater Austin editor for 10 years, and often writes about food and pop culture. And just like that, HBO Max's Sex and the City sequel series returns for its third season. This guide will be updated weekly when each episode airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m., leading up to the finale. And we're saying it now: there will be spoilers ahead. Episode 7, 'They Just Wanna Have Fun' It's party time: Carrie is throwing a big birthday shindig for Charlotte to help distract her from Harry's cancer diagnosis with catered burgers and layer cakes. Miranda gets way too into the party with cringy encouragements to karaoke. Seema gets an eye infection from getting her eyelashes done at a salon that also serves coffee (it's not a real place), and eventually gets it on with Carrie's hot pleb gardener, Adam. Anthony is dealing with meeting Giuseppe's mom (played by Patti LuPone), who very much does not like him because of their age gap. And more importantly, Carrie subconsciously flirts with downstairs neighbor Duncan — she literally takes sips out of his glass of Scotch while he smokes a pipe and praises her historical fiction chapter. Leave Aidan already! 425 Park Avenue, at East 56th Street, Midtown The sole restaurant in this episode is this massive space from chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Carrie is on a lunch date with Giuseppe's mom, Gia — Carrie graciously sits in the chair while letting Gia sit on the plush banquette. Carrie is eating some huge lettuce thing while they talk about dating someone with kids. Gia tells Carrie to be herself, which means Carrie should date Duncan, no? Sarah Jessica Parker Responds to ‘And Just like That...' Cheating Plotline
And Just Like That... season 3 just did something so wild that I am literally struggling to cope. In last night's episode, Aidan visits Carrie in New York, and after a very frustrating back and forth about a window, he reveals that he's actually freaking out because he slept with his ex-wife Kathy. It happened in a moment of tension in their family, and they were comforting each other. It's a huge revelation, and is even more ironic considering Carrie's cheating is the reason why Aidan broke up with her during the original series. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Sarah Jessica Parker responded to the choice to have Aidan sleep with his ex-wife, saying that she kind of, sort of understands how this happened. Does she think it was cheating? Here's what she said. "I think if you share a child and that child is in trouble, and you both have distracting amounts of concern and worry, that reaching out for comfort, which might be almost a habit in their marriage, I wouldn't find it overly taxing to understand that and not be outraged by it," she said. A very diplomatic answer! It's all part of the confusion in Carrie and Aidan's relationship this season. Are they together? Are they not? Even they don't seem to know. While Aidan is deeply apologetic about sleeping with Kathy, Carrie seems less upset about it. She wasn't planning on literally waiting for him for five years, even though it seems like that's what he expected. SJP said the lack of clarity is where they went wrong. "This probably happens with people who are really familiar, who are intimately involved and are doing their level best to be decent to one another," she said. "They needed to deconstruct it further. And I think they were both trying to be so good to each other that they didn't pursue what the definition really was. And I think it was because they were trying to honor this idea. If either party had pushed for more meaningful definition, the end result might have been that they wouldn't have agreed to it." Yeah, it feels like there were some big missteps here. It'll be very interesting to see how this shakes out the rest of the season.

Tracking the NYC Restaurants in ‘And Just Like That...' Season 3, Episode 6
And just like that, HBO Max's Sex and the City sequel series returns for its third season. And Just Like That... brings back our long-time New Yorkers Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), as well as relative newcomers Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker), to our televisions and laptops. What is summer without our gals talking candidly about sex, making bad puns, and dining and drinking around the city? Like previous seasons , Eater will be tracking where the gang is eating across New York City, from brunch sessions to romantic dinners to cocktail dates. This guide will be updated weekly when each episode airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m., leading up to the finale. And we're saying it now: there will be spoilers ahead. Carrie definitely has a neighbor crush — she's spending a lot of time with Mr. British Biographer, even having a supper of mutton stew and malbec in his basement apartment on a rainy evening. 'Never had mutton before,' she muses. 'Tastes exactly like I imagine it would; it's very muttony.' Well put, Carrie. He says he wants to take her out for a 'proper meal,' but before that, they do the vulnerable writer thing and ask each other to read their works-in-progress. She later tells Aidan it was the 'worst meal of my entire life,' while he just makes bad Dunkin' puns (since the neighbor's name is Duncan, get it?) and later breaks the irreplaceable window of her home. Come. On. It's another heavy episode too: Lisa's father has a stroke and dies (but also, wasn't he already dead before?); Harry opts to undergo surgery to treat his prostate cancer. 368 West 23rd Street, at Ninth Avenue, Chelsea Lisa treks out to this diner 'all the way across the bridge' to meet up with the general manager of her father's theater, Lucille Highwater (played by Jenifer Lewis), and plan for his funeral in New Jersey. And actually, this diner is written to act as the Pink Tea Cup, a since-shuttered NYC soul food staple. The staff knows them well, calling her Miss Lisa and asking if she wants 'the usual,' which turns out to be chicken and waffles. Over their big plates, Lisa asks for hot sauce from a server, but Lucille channels Beyoncé by whipping out a bottle of what looks like Crystal hot sauce, gifted by her father. They also get slices of Key lime pie, which Lucille describes as having 'seen better days.' 129 East 18th Street at Irving Place, Gramercy Park The historic New York City bar makes its second appearance this season (see: episode five, where Carrie and Duncan go out for a meal). This time, it's an exterior scene. Miranda, Joy, and the pups are drinking outside on the patio before Brady meets them. Her son knows his mother well and questions why she's outside; she points to the dogs. See More:
