K. Arul Jothi takes charge as security chief for Southern Railway
K. Arul Jothi took charge as the Inspector-General/Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Southern Railway, on Friday. A 1995-batch Indian Railway Protection Force Service (IRPFS) officer, Mr. Jothi served the force in various capacities across North Frontier Railway, Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, Eastern Railway, East Central Railway, and other zones. During his stint as Deputy Inspector General, Southern Railway in the 2019-20 COVID-19 period, he spearheaded the RPF teams in organising the safe movement of migrant workers to various parts of the country through 503 Shramik Special Trains. Mr. Jothi succeeds G.M. Eswara Rao, who retired from service, according to a press release.

Arul Jothi is the new Principal Chief Security Commissioner of Southern Railway
K. Arul Jothi assumed charge as the Inspector General cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Southern Railway, in Chennai on Friday. An officer of the Indian Railway Protection Force Service (IRPFS) batch of 1995, Mr. Jothi served the RPF in various capacities across North Frontier Railway, Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, Eastern Railway, East Central Railway and other zones, said a release. Notably, during his stint as Deputy Inspector General of the Southern Railway during the 2019-2020 COVID-19 period, Mr. Jothi, apart from controlling crime, spearheaded the RPF teams in organising the safe movement of migrant workers to various parts of the country through 503 Shramik special trains. He succeeds G.M. Eswara Rao, who superannuated on July 31.
