Kanye West makes brief appearance at Sean ‘Diddy' Combs trial
NEW YORK — Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, showed his support for Sean "Diddy" Combs Friday, making a brief, surprise appearance at the courthouse amid his ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering trial. Cameras captured the 'Gold Digger' rapper walking into the federal courthouse Friday morning, where he was spotted greeting Combs' youngest son, Christian 'King' Combs. Wearing an all-white ensemble, Ye was asked by a reporter if he was there in support of Combs, to which he responded, 'Yes.' When asked if he would be testifying on behalf of the music mogul, he did not respond. Ye arrived at about 11:30 a.m. and was inside the courthouse watching the testimony from day 23 of the trial in one of the overflow rooms before leaving after about an hour, per court personnel on the scene. In March, Ye publicly proclaimed his support for Combs in a song he released titled 'Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,' which features both hip-hop moguls and their kids. 'LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE new song by PUFF DADDY feat. His son KING COMBS my daughter NORTH WEST and new Yeezy artist from Chicago Jasmine Williams,' Ye captioned his post on X at the time. Ye also advocated for Combs' release from prison posting on X, 'FREE PUFF.' The duo have stayed in touch since Combs has been locked up at the the Metropolitan Detention Center. In a leaked jail call between the the pair, Combs warns West that people are trying to 'end' them. 'You be careful out there,' Combs says. According to a source obtained by People, the SKIMS co-founder has been overwhelmed by her ex-husband's public outbursts, especially when he "acts irrational" and it affects their children. Kim and Ye share four children: daughters North, 11, Chicago, 7, and sons Saint, 9, and Paslm, 5. Kim and Ye finalized their divorce in November 2022 and were granted joint physical and legal custody of their kids, agreeing to settle any co-parenting disputes with private mediation. In October 2024, a source told People that Kim is "pretty much a single mom" since Ye is "sadly not around very much." "When Kanye's not around, it's very sad for the kids. North especially asks to see him," the source from March 21 said. "But when he is around, many times it causes frustration and stress for Kim." In a dispute involving their eldest daughter, Kim and Ye involved their attorneys and mediator after North was featured on "LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE," a single from Ye's upcoming album that features Sean " Diddy" Combs. Diddy is currently being held in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center and faces charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, to which he pleaded not guilty. In February, Ye expressed his support for Diddy. "She can't stand when he acts irrational. She wants the kids to spend time with him in a safe environment," the source told People. Ye also shared screenshots of an alleged text conversation between him and Kim going back and forth over trademarking North's name. This allowed Kim to prevent him from using their daughter's vocals on the song with Diddy. Ye's recent antics go beyond his presumed involvement with the Tate brothers and Diddy. On March 18, Ye posted a string of X posts berating his former collaborator and friend, Jay-Z, and his wife, Beyoncé. His troubling posts included comments about Jay-Z and Beyoncé's 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir.

Playboi Carti fired back at Kanye West with a blunt four-letter message after West took issue with the rapper wanting to collaborate with his daughter, North West. On Wednesday, Carti posted a simple but direct response on X: 'YE, STFU [shut the f*** up].' This exchange came just one day after Carti reached out to West's ex-wife Kim Kardashian, expressing interest in working with their 11-year-old daughter. Carti posted, 'TELL ME[sic] NIECE NORTH SEND ME A SONG,' tagging Kim in the post, which she later shared on her own Instagram story. Kanye, who is known for his fiery online posts, quickly responded, mocking Carti on X. However, those close to Kim found the claim laughable, especially given Kanye's recent associations with the Tate brothers and defense of A TMZ exclusive revealed that Kim reportedly took drastic action after learning that Andrew and Tristan Tate, both highly controversial figures, would be present during North's visit with Kanye. Sources told TMZ that Kim was informed by security that the Tate brothers were arriving at the location, prompting her to pull North from the visit immediately. This issue was raised during an emergency hearing last week regarding North's involvement in Kanye's music. Kim, Kanye, and their respective lawyers had met with a mediator to discuss North's participation in Kanye's song "LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE," which also features Diddy. However, discussions also touched on the presence of the Tate brothers and Kanye's unsettling habit of wearing and selling swastika-adorned shirts. Andrew and Tristan Tate, who were arrested in 2022 for allegedly running a criminal organisation in Romania, also face serious charges, including rape and sexual assault lawsuits in both the U.S. and the U.K., although they have not been convicted.
