Jeremy Renner Details Experiencing Death During Snow Plow Accident "I Didn't Want to Come Back" — GeekTyrant
Marvel actor Jeremy Renner went through a death-defying accident and recovery two years ago that he is just now fully detailing in his recently-published memoir, 'My Next Breath.' In the book, he says he briefly experienced what he believes was death during the 2023 New Year's Day snow plow accident that nearly cost him his life. In a recent follow-up interview on Kelly Ripa's 'Let's Talk Off Camera' podcast, the Oscar nominee described this moment as 'a great relief.' 'It's a wonderful, wonderful relief to be removed from your body,' Renner said. 'It is the most exhilarating peace you could ever feel. You don't see anything but what's in your mind's eye. Like, you're the atoms of who you are, the DNA, your spirit. It's the highest adrenaline rush, but the peace that comes with it… it's magnificent. It's so magical.' 'I didn't want to come back,' Renner continued. 'I remember I was brought back and I was so pissed off. I came back, I'm like, 'Aww!' I came back and saw [my] eyeball and I'm like, 'Oh shit, I'm back.' Saw my legs. I'm like, 'Yeah, that's gonna hurt later.' I'm like, 'All right, let me continue to breathe.'' Renner wrote in his book that he briefly died about 30 minutes after his Sno-Cat, a large snow plow that weighs at least 14,330 pounds, ran him over as he was saving his nephew from injury. Renner ultimately regained consciousness and was hospitalized for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. His injuries included eight ribs broken in 14 places, a broken right knee and ankle, a broken left leg tibia and ankle, a broken right clavicle and shoulder and more. 'I could see my lifetime,' he writes in the book. 'I could see everything all at once. In death, there was no time, no time at all, yet it was also all time and forever.' Speaking to Ripa, Renner added that feeling like 'a man that didn't want to come back' has made him now 'really be able to be back here and live it on my terms as the captain of my own ship. And get on it or off it, I don't give a fuck. I'm going to live life on my own terms and for nobody else. [It's] very clear. The white noise is ripped away.' After spending nearly a year in recovery, Renner has since gone on to return to acting via his Paramount+ original drama series Mayor of Kingstown . He also filmed a role in Rian Johnson's next 'Knives Out' movie, aptly called Wake Up Dead Man , which is coming to theaters and Netflix this fall. via: Variety

Well, here's a story that's the epitome of "Don't try this at home." Of course, you know that Jeremy Renner is very, very lucky to be alive after being run over by a snow plow at the top of 2023. In his recently released memoir My Last Breath, the Oscar-nominated actor claimed that he quite literally experienced death itself at the time of the accident. In a recent appearance on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast, Jeremy went deeper into what he experienced during that moment — and, shockingly, it sounds like almost dying was a friggin' blast through his lens. Make no mistake, though — the overall experience made Jeremy happy to be alive and living life when all was said and done, as he said he's now "able to be back here and live it on my terms as the captain of my own ship. Jeremy Renner almost died on New Year's Day 2023 after being crushed by a snow plow near his Nevada home. He wasn't too happy when he was revived. During a recently posted appearance on SiriusXM's 'Let's Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa' podcast, Renner talked about the incident that landed him in the hospital in critical condition and needing multiple surgeries. Renner told Ripa, 'It's a great relief is all I can say. It's a wonderful relief to be removed from your body.' 'It is the most exhilarating peace you could ever feel. Jeremy Renner says he was ‘pissed off' after being revived from near-fatal Tahoe snowplow accident
Jeremy Renner, the Oscar-nominated actor best known for his role as Hawkeye in Marvel's 'Avengers' franchise, has revealed that he was initially angry after being revived following his near-fatal snowplow accident. In an interview on Kelly Ripa's podcast ' Let's Talk Off Camera,' Renner described his brief but powerful brush with death after he was crushed by a 14,000-pound snowcat outside his Lake Tahoe home while trying to save his nephew, Alex Fries, on New Year's Day 2023. The Modesto actor suffered 38 broken bones, a collapsed lung and a pierced liver, spending over two weeks in the hospital and undergoing multiple surgeries. 'I didn't want to come back,' Renner told Ripa on the episode released Tuesday, May 20. 'I remember, and I was brought back and I was so pissed off.' Renner explained that during the few minutes he was clinically dead, he experienced what he called the most exhilarating peace.' 'It's a great relief, is all I can say,' Renner said. 'It's a wonderful, wonderful relief to be removed from your body. It is the most exhilarating peace you could ever feel. It's the highest adrenaline rush, but the peace that comes with it — it's magnificent. It's so magical.' The experience, he said, profoundly altered his understanding of life, death and what truly matters. 'Time is a human construct,' Renner said. 'Language, all these things — it's all knowing, all experiencing, all at the same time, all at once.' The accident, which Renner attributes to a momentary lapse when he forgot to engage the parking brake, became a turning point in his life. 'It makes me — a man that didn't want to come back — really be able to be back here and live it on my terms as the captain of my own ship,' he said. 'And get on it or off it, I don't give a f—.' 'I can't stomach the things I gave credence to prior to the accident,' said Renner. 'I invest into love and my shared relationships that I experience love with. Cause that is the only thing that you take with you.'
