Lizzo shows off her Met Gala look in 'Still Bad (Animal Style)' video
May 9 (UPI) -- Lizzo released an official video for "Still Bad (Animal Style)," featuring the singer sporting her Met Gala dress designed by Christian Siriano. The video, recorded directly following the Met Gala in New York City on Monday, shows Lizzo singing and dancing at a late-night eatery, an arcade, the city streets and other locations. The video shows off Lizzo's Met Gala dress, designed by Siriano and "inspired by the white tuxedo as seen on some of the iconic band leaders of the cotton club during the Harlem renaissance," Lizzo wrote on social media. The video, which culminates with a party at famed New York bar Pieces, features cameos from drag performer Shequida Hall and the cast of Drag Wars. Lizzo's fifth full-length studio album, Love in Real Life, is expected to be released during the summer. The title track was released as a single Feb. 28, followed by "Still Bad" in March.

Lizzo shows off weight loss in two-piece bikini
Singer Lizzo has stripped down to a two-piece bikini to show off her dramatic weight loss in a new video. The singer modelled a number of different underwear and shapewear outfits for a video promoting her brand, Yitty. An outspoken body positivity advocate, Lizzo recently shared publicly that she'd hit her 'goal weight,' after embarking on a health kick at the start of 2024. 'Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven't seen this number since 2014,' she shared on social media. She continued, 'Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!' An accompanying graphic showed that she had lowered her body mass index (BMI) by 10.5 and had lost 16% of her body fat since starting her weight loss journey in January of last year. In a recent TikTok live, Lizzo went into detail about her eating habits and how she stays in 'calorie deficit' while still enjoying sweet treats. 'I do something sweet. It's gotta be with some sort of like carb. I'll have like almond butter and toast. So, everybody's body is different. Find out what works for you,' she told her followers. And despite the rumours – and many a sudden celeb slim-down coinciding with the drug's rise in popularity – Lizzo has insisted that Ozempic had nothing to do with her weight loss journey. 'When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,' she wrote on social media last year. She said at the time that rumours she'd been using the drug were 'like a reward' after spending so much time working out and improving her diet. Lizzo might be in the best shape of her life, but her career fortunes have taken a hit in recent months, with her new music failing to make an impact. Despite arriving with glossy, big budget music videos, recent singles Love in Real Life and Still Bad have failed to chart anywhere – a brutal result for an artist who enjoyed a string of multi-platinum smashes after her breakthrough single Truth Hurts belatedly took off in 2019, two years after its original release.

Lizzo conquered anxiety with meditation and isolation
Lizzo conquered her anxiety using meditation. The 36-year-old pop star has spent years battling the mental health issue but she's now revealed she found a technique that helped after she started using meditation to calm herself down - and she also decided to isolate herself from distractions in a bid to banish negative thinking. In a video posted as a TikTok Live, she explained: "I've been working to get my anxiety under control for years. And then I decided that I want to release and I'm ready to stop waiting to be myself like fully and be happy. "And I meditated. I calmed myself down. And I isolated a little bit, but not like made myself lonely, not the way I used to when I was depressed. I isolated myself in a mindful way where I had no distractions. "I loved to distract myself with people. I loved to distract myself with food. I loved to distract myself with drinking. I loved to distract myself with problems that I would create. I would love to do that. And I stopped doing that. And I just focused on me." In the video, Lizzo also spoke about her recent weight loss admitting she stopped drinking "two to three" large Starbucks drinks a day and swapped sugary treats for savoury snacks. She said: "I do something sweet. It's gotta be with some sort of like carb. I'll have like almond butter and toast. So, everybody's body is different. "Find out what works for you ... [I believe the only thing that] works across the board, science-wise, is calories in versus calories out. "That's just how the human body works." It comes after Lizzo recently admitted she has been in a "state of depression" after a string of lawsuits were launched against her because she became convinced she was "hated" by the world. Speaking on the 'On Purpose' podcast, she told host Jay Shetty: "I knew I was going to have to do my biggest [album]. "I had this feeling that everybody hates me for something that isn't true. But at the end of the day, because of the position I'm in, everybody hates me. "I've been in a state of depression because I didn't know how to fix it. I was dark and I was scared of people. I was like, you can't trust anyone, you can't love anyone, I don't want to talk to nobody." Lizzo was hit with multiple suits in 2023 when several of her former background dancers filed suit alleging that the singer subjected them to sexual harassment. The singer/rapper denied any wrongdoing. The 'About Damn Time' hitmaker - whose new record 'Love in Real Life' will be released later this year - added that she has had to go to some "dark" places on the upcoming album. She said: "I have some songs that are very dark."
