Lizzo brought the house down on Saturday Night Live!
The singer, 36, appeared as the musical guest on the April 12 episode of the late-night comedy sketch series, which saw Jon Hamm serve as host.
For her first musical performance, Lizzo sang a medley of "Love in Real Life/Still Bad" off of her soon-to-be-released album, Love in Real Life.
She appeared to be poking fun at the Trump administration as she took to the stage wearing a cropped t-shirt with the word "TARRIFIED," paired with shorts and a sparkly jacket.

She returned to the stage later in the show to perform "Don't Make Me Love You."
Lizzo previously appeared as the musical guest on SNL in December 2019 and December 2022. She also appeared as both the host and the musical guest during an April 2022 episode.

Lizzo released her first album, Lizzobangers, in 2013. She followed that LP with Big Grrrl Small World in 2015, Cuz I Love You in 2019 and Special in 2022.
The musician also recently released "Pink" from Barbie the Album, the soundtrack that accompanied the 2023 film Barbie.

Lizzo's SNL appearance came about amid her ongoing legal battle with her former backup dancers.
The individuals filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Lizzo in August 2023. In the filing, the three dancers claimed they were abused, harassed, discriminated against and faced numerous workplace violations while working for the Grammy winner and her Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc.
In February 2024, Lizzo attempted to dismiss the lawsuit and was denied.
Speaking with Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast earlier this month, Lizzo explained that her disappearance after the lawsuit was not a result of the scandal tied to it — but a much-needed way of "protecting my peace" she had already planned.
Saturday Night Live airs weekends on NBC. Love in Real Life is set to be released this year.

Meghan Markle's Instagram Views Compared to William and Kate

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Meghan Markle's Instagram reels have had more views in 2025 than Prince William and Princess Kate's despite having far fewer followers. The Duchess of Sussex had been off social media for almost four years before her surprise return on January 1, 2025. The move came ahead of a flurry of new projects, her Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan, her online shop As Ever and her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. Prince William and Princess Kate in front of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the Commonwealth Day service, at Westminster Abbey, in London, on March 9, 2020. Prince William and Princess Kate in front of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the Commonwealth Day service, at Westminster Abbey, in London, on March 9, 2020. Phil Harris -Why It Matters Despite her long absence from Instagram, Meghan appeared to quickly regain a substantial audience, leaving her well placed to market her businesses directly to fans. And it is doubly striking that she has quickly exceeded William and Kate's established audience, who have been consistently served videos from their royal engagements dating back years. Meghan Markle's Instagram Account The duchess posts pictures and videos connected to her lifestyle brand and Netflix show, as well as her personal life, and has 3 million followers. Her most viewed reel announced she was rebranding her online shop from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever and has had 26.9 million views since February 17. The post with the least views got 2.7 million and showed her arranging flowers set to the LL Cool J song Doin' It. Across 22 reels, she has had a total of 168 million views and an average of 7.6 million per post. Meghan's 2025 Stats Followers: 3 million Number of Reels: 22 Total Views: 168 million Top Reel: 26.9 million Average Views: 7.6 million Fewest Views: 2.7 million Prince William and Princess Kate's Instagram The Prince and Princess of Wales have had their Instagram for far longer and also post across a range of other platforms, including Twitter and YouTube. Their most viewed post of the year so far was a collaboration with science influencer Big Manny, a favorite among British parents and teenagers, which gained 17.6 million views. Next came a video released to mark Prince Louis' birthday in May, which got 11 million views and showed him playing and jumping in woodland. Their least viewed video was a post from March 11 about Prince William learning to be a soccer referee which got 1.1 million views. Their lower view count came despite having 16.8 million followers, almost six times as many as Meghan. William and Kate's 2025 Stats Followers: 16.8 million Number of Reels: 47 Total Views: 134.8 million Top Reel: 17.6 million Average Views: 2.8 million Fewest Views: 1.1 million Analysis One reason Meghan's posts gain more audience than William and Kate's despite her lower follower count may be that her Instagram is the only place to get updates directly from her. By contrast, not only do William and Kate have other social media accounts but most of their videos show royal engagements that were also covered live by British journalists and photographers from the royal rota. Their Instagram reels are therefore a stylized, more curated version of content already in the public domain, and are less frequently the original source for major announcements. For example, Meghan announced As Ever through an Instagram video, meaning news of the relaunch began with her post which was then widely cited as the source for follow up news stories. Yet, Princess Kate's announcement that she was in remission from cancer began with a press release about a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital around lunch time. This generated an initial wave of stories about her visit, at which journalists and photographers were present, followed up later by an announcement in text form that she was in remission. Separately, she posted an Instagram reel about the January 14 visit but it did not mention the key news that she was in remission, simply stating: "The work of the @royalmarsden is world-leading, pioneering and lifesaving. "It's a remarkable charity supporting advances in cancer research, treatment and care, and the work of a hospital that has done so much for so many." The Instagram reel got 4.5 million views, some way below the couple's peek of 17.6 million. Needless to say, it will have been encouraging for Meghan to see high view counts on her Instagram posts after such a long absence. Not only does she have fewer followers than William and Kate but she has also not caught up with her and Prince Harry's now defunct Sussex Royal, which had 8.8 million followers compared to Meghan's 3 million. The views on her reels, however, show that follower numbers are not the only or even the most reliable way to measure the reach of a specific account. Additionally, Meghan may well have been relieved to see she can still generate significant audience after months of negative reviews in both the American and British media. Comedy for summer 2025: Stand-up comics, including some from ‘SNL'

Some of comedy's biggest names will be visiting over the next few months, including several you know from 'Saturday Night Live.' Trevor Wallace: Naperville-born Wallace, who got his start as a Vine comic before eventually earning 10 million followers on TikTok, is bringing his 'Alpha Beta Male' tour to the Chicago Theatre. A stand-up, actor and podcaster, Wallace is known for, in his own words, 'making fun of the people closest to him' in low-budget but relatable videos like 'Moms Going Through Your Room in High School' and 'The Guy Who Never Left His Hometown.' Alex Edelman: Edelman is bringing his latest show, billed as blurring the line between 'his stand-up comedy roots and narrative-driven storytelling,' to Chicago in June. Edelman is known for his Special Tony Award and Emmy Award-winning production 'Just for Us,' and he's also soon returning to the small screen; he will appear in Peacock's 'The Paper,' a spinoff of 'The Office,' starting this fall. 'What Are You Going to Do' will play for one night at the Den Theatre. Damon Wayans Jr.: Fresh from leading 'Poppa's House' on CBS, which he starred in with his father, Wayans is hitting the road. Wayans is known for his Critics' Choice Award-nominated turn as Brad Williams on 'Happy Ending' (ABC), as well as his run as Coach on Fox's 'New Girl,' and will be taking the stage of the Chicago Improv for five shows over three nights. Roast Battle Chicago: Based on the Comedy Central hit 'Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle,' this show features Chicago comics engaging in a war of insults where only one comic comes out on top. A combination of stand-up and verbal boxing, overseen by an ever-changing panel of judges, 'Roast Battle Chicago' goes up on the third Thursday of every month. Hilarious Habibis: The Los Angeles-based Hilarious Habibis (produced by comics Gena B. Jones and Lynn Maleh) aims to highlight Middle Eastern and North African comics with fresh lineups every round. They're bringing their show to Chicago for one night only. WERK: From comics to storytellers to drag performers, WERK features an all-queer lineup every month at Lincoln Lodge. Their Pride Month show in June always sells fast, so get tickets early. James Austin Johnson: Known for his uncanny impression skills — most notably as 'SNL's' current President Trump — Johnson joined the show in 2021. He's impersonated everyone from Jay-Z to Bob Dylan to Joe Biden. Known for voicing the Grinch in Wondery's podcast series ''Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast,' as well as his roles in 'Inside Out 2' and 'A Complete Unknown,' Johnson will be appearing at the Den Theatre for two shows. Emil Wakim: Chicago-born and raised Wakim will be returning to his hometown for a three-night run at Zanies. In the fall of 2024, Wakim joined 'SNL' for its 50th season, becoming the first Lebanese-American cast member in the show's history. Previously, he was chosen as a New Face of Comedy at 2022's Just for Laughs festival in Montreal. His work has also been featured on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,' in pop-up shows with Don't Tell Comedy, and on Comedy Central's 'Stand-Up Featuring.' Wakim will play five shows over three nights at Zanies. Melissa Villaseñor: She's a comic, impressionist and visual artist who was a cast member of 'SNL' from 2016 to 2022. As a voice actor, Villaseñor has appeared in 'Toy Story 4,' 'Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet' and 'Dog Man.' She is also the host of the podcast 'Laughing with Myself.' She is the author of 'Whoops … I'm Awesome,' an original self-help workbook of stories and activities. She will perform three shows over two nights at the Den Theatre.

Pinterest wooed Gen Zers. Will AI pins drive them away?

Loving Pinterest has long been a part of my secretly middle-aged personality. I have 16.1k pins to my name to prove it. I started my account in middle school eight years ago, and Pinterest has been a dear companion to me ever since. I used to log on every day to tuck away precious ideas and artworks into my boards, which I could take out to admire every time I needed advice, a joke, or a drawing lesson. I am not alone in this. Pinterest says that 42% of its global user base is Gen Z. 'I think Gen Z has really latched onto Pinterest as a safe platform to use, especially with so much happening around other social media platforms,' says Lois, whose Tiktok videos about Pinterest under the username dandydemon have garnered over six million views. 'Pinterest is a very atypical social media platform. It's not like Instagram, it's not like TikTok, where you're actively scrolling. It's a very personalized social media platform, and it feels almost like a journal of sorts for people.' But for many users like Lois, a worrying pattern has emerged over the past couple of years. 'There is so much AI on the platform . . . that it's hard to determine what [posts are] AI, and where it is coming from,' she says. Other people like Reddit user InterationInternal agree. 'I was looking for hair color inspo and it was all AI. I couldn't find a single human!! Then [I] typed in nail inspo, interior design – same thing. Is this platform dead?' they wrote in a thread titled 'Pinterest is 100% AI now?' R/Pinterest hosts hundreds of posts with similar complaints. Frustration over AI content and the recent mass deletion of user accounts is boiling over to the point where many users are leaving the platform for alternatives. Andy McCune, cofounder and CEO of the curation app Cosmos, says that after launching in August 2024, Cosmos has already gained millions of users. And, in the couple of days after Lois shouted out the platform as a Pinterest alternative in her a video discussing the Pinterest bans, McCune noted that Cosmos saw tens of thousands of new users join the platform. The final deadline for Fast Company's Brands That Matter Awards is this Friday, May 30, at 11:59 p.m. PT. Apply today.
