Police bust ecstasy-laced juice labs in KL and Selangor
SHAH ALAM: Police have shut down two drug-processing laboratories in a major crackdown on a syndicate producing ecstasy-laced juice, seizing narcotics worth RM5.03 million. The raids, conducted on June 26 in Ampang, Selangor, and Pandan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur, led to the arrest of 13 suspects. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan revealed that the syndicate had been active since December last year. The group operated from terrace houses, processing MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) to be mixed into juice drinks before distribution. 'Four additional raids in shopping centre and condominium parking lots uncovered 1,510 boxes and 728 bottles of suspected MDMA-laced juice, weighing 689.42 kg,' Hussein said. Other seized items included MDMA powder (1.68 kg), ketamine (25.4 kg), ecstasy pills (5.3 kg), and Erimin 5 pills (0.726 kg). Nine of the 13 suspects tested positive for ketamine, meth, and benzodiazepines. Two had prior criminal records under the Open Gambling Houses Act 1953 and Immigration Act 1959. Police also confiscated eight cars, a motorcycle, cash, and jewellery valued at RM826,222.

Police bust illegal vape drug lab in Ampang, seize RM21.85m narcotics
SHAH ALAM: Police have dismantled an illegal drug-processing laboratory used to manufacture narcotics-laced vape liquids, seizing drugs worth RM21.85 million in two raids on condominium units in Ampang on June 25. Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the arrests of four individuals in the first raid, including three foreigners (two men and a woman) and a local man. Authorities confiscated drugs and vape processing equipment, including seven vape cartridges suspected to contain cocaine (57 grams), 2.7 kg of powdered cocaine, and 124.6 kg of liquid believed to contain MDMA. A second raid on the same day at another condominium unit led to the seizure of 41 grams of dried cannabis, 140 grams of MDMA-laced vape liquid, and 56 grams of suspected powdered cocaine. A 28-year-old foreign man was arrested and tested positive for morphine. Investigations revealed that one suspect acted as the chemist, while others served as runners and assistants. The syndicate had been active since October 2024, renting two condominium units at RM6,000 monthly to process drug-infused vape liquids for local and international markets. Two foreign suspects had prior criminal records, including document forgery, fraud, and drug-related offenses. The syndicate's estimated monthly profit was RM200,000. Police also seized vehicles, currencies, laptops, and luxury items, bringing total confiscated assets to RM21.9 million. All suspects are remanded for seven days under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the first raid led to the arrest of four people, including three foreigners, along with the confiscation of various drugs and vape processing equipment. "A search of the premises uncovered seven vape cartridges suspected to contain cocaine (about 57 grams), 2.7 kilograms (kg) of suspected powdered cocaine and 124.6 kg of liquid believed to contain MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine)," he said during a press conference at the Selangor Police Headquarters today. The second raid, conducted the same day at a different condominium unit, resulted in the seizure of 41 grams of dried cannabis, 140 grams of MDMA-laced vape liquid and 56 grams of suspected powdered cocaine. Hussein said a 28-year-old foreign man was arrested in the second operation and subsequently tested positive for morphine during a urine test. Initial investigations revealed that one of the foreign suspects acted as the chemist, while the others served as runners and assistants. The syndicate is believed to have been active since October 2024. Background checks showed that two of the foreign male suspects detained in the first raid had prior criminal records, including document forgery, criminal intimidation, fraud, drug-related offences, public disorder and assault. The syndicate's modus operandi involved renting two condominium units, each at RM6,000 per month, which were converted into laboratories to process drug-infused vape liquids for distribution to both local and international markets, Hussein said. He added that the group's estimated monthly profit from the operation was around RM200,000. Police also seized vehicles, local and foreign currencies, laptops, jewellery and branded watches, bringing the total value of seizures and confiscated assets to RM21.9 million. Police smash major MDMA "juice" syndicate, seize RM5 million in drugs
SHAH ALAM – Thirteen individuals have been arrested following six coordinated raids by Federal Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), which uncovered two clandestine laboratories producing the Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)-laced synthetic drug 'juice.' Authorities seized drugs valued at RM5.03 million in the large-scale operation conducted on June 26 between 2pm and 5pm. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the arrests, which included twelve local men and one Vietnamese woman aged between 20 and 41. He said the syndicate was dismantled following weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering. 'These labs were sophisticated setups hidden in residential areas and operated by individuals with defined roles. "Some acted as chemists, others as runners, all working together in a network that's been active since December 2022. "We found 1,488 juice boxes suspected to contain MDMA, amounting to 372.62 kg,' he said during a press conference at the Selangor Police Headquarters on Tuesday. Hussein further stated that the first raid took place at a terraced house in Ampang, Selangor, where three local men were arrested. He said that police uncovered a fully operational drug lab processing MDMA into juice, along with ecstasy pills, Erimin 5 tablets and other related substances. A second raid in Pandan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur, resulted in the arrest of six suspects namely, five local men and the Vietnamese woman at another illicit juice lab. Officers also recovered hundreds of bottles containing MDMA-laced liquid, ketamine, ecstasy pills, cannabis, Erimin 5 tablets and more MDMA processing equipment from both the residence and a vehicle. Subsequent raids in parking lots across Kuchai Lama, Taman Permata, Kuchai Jaya and Taman Connaught resulted in the arrest of four more local men, with significant quantities of MDMA-laced liquid recovered from their vehicles. 'In total, we seized 689.24 kg of MDMA in liquid form, 1.68 kg of MDMA powder, 25.4 kg of ketamine, 5.3 kg of ecstasy pills and nearly 0.73 kg of Erimin 5,' he added. Hussein revealed that several suspects functioned as 'chemists' in the operation while others acted as runners, receiving payments ranging from RM3,000 to RM25,000 monthly. The syndicate, believed to have been active since December 2022, used rented terraced homes as production sites and transported products in private vehicles for distribution in local markets. He stated that all thirteen suspects have been remanded under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, facing potential sentences of death or life imprisonment and at least twelve strokes of the cane. Eleven suspects were remanded for seven days from June 27 to July 3, while one, identified as the alleged coordinator, remained in custody for three additional days from June 29 to July 2. According to Hussein, preliminary urine tests indicated nine of the thirteen tested positive for ketamine, methamphetamine, or benzodiazepines; the remaining four tested negative.
