Potential missing person sparks emergency response on Arran
A search of the coastline around Brodick Bay was launched after reports of a missing person on Sunday, June 1. An emergency response was launched on Arran after reports of a missing person in Brodick Bay. Emergency services were alerted to the situation at around 8am on Sunday, June 1. Arran Coastguard Rescue Team and Arran RNLI were called out to the scene in an effort to find the missing person. The volunteer lifeboat crew searched an area of shoreline from Corriegills to Invercloy, Cladach and around to Merkland Point. On shore, the coastguard team searched an area of the coastline from Brodick Pier to Rosa Burn. However, investigations by Police Scotland found that everyone was accounted for and the coastguard and RNLI teams were stood down. A spokesperson for Arran RNLI said: "At 8:25am today (Sunday) our pagers sounded and instructed the volunteer crew to assemble at the lifeboat station in Lamlash. "These type of shouts normally mean it's either a lower urgency than normal or another agency (such as the police or coastguard) requires more time to find out specifics of an incident but need the security of our crew being ready to launch at a moment's notice. "Luckily, the crew arrived quickly as we were tasked to assist Arran Coastguard Rescue Team with a shoreline search for a potential missing person in Brodick Bay. "Rachel Hedderwick (Arran's Atlantic 85 lifeboat) launched at 8:40am and made passage to Brodick where the crew commenced a shoreline search from Corriegills to Invercloy (including around the CalMac pier and MV Glen Sannox at her berth). "A sweep back was made through the moorings, checking yachts for any signs of anyone, and speaking to some visiting yachtsmen. With nothing found, the lifeboat continued the search along the beach to Cladach and around to Merkland Point. "With no further indication of a missing person or anything untoward, the lifeboat was stood down by Belfast Coastguard at 9:40am and returned to Lamlash for recovery where it was refuelled and made ready for service by the shore crew. "If you see someone in trouble at sea or along the coast, please don't hesitate to dial 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard." A spokesperson for Arran Coastguard Rescue Team said: "The Coastguard Team were tasked by Belfast Coastguard just after 8am this morning (Sunday) and, along with our maritime search and rescue colleagues from Arran RNLI, completed a search of the coast from Brodick Pier to the Rosa Burn. This was in response to a possible missing person. "Thankfully, after further investigation, Police Scotland were able to confirm all persons were accounted for and we could stand down. "This was the team's 75th tasking of the year. Remember in a coastal emergency call 999 and ask for the coastguard."

Was Cha Eun Woo replaced by Heo Nam Jun as male lead in IU's Never Ending Story MV? All we know about ASTRO member's cameo
IU's highly anticipated comeback with her remake album A Flower Bookmark has stirred major buzz in the Korean entertainment world. And it's not just because of her stunning vocals or the sentimental tracklist. Early reports from Korean media revealed that popular actor and ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo would appear in IU's new music project. This led many to believe he would star as the male lead in the title track's music video. But when Never Ending Story finally dropped, it wasn't Cha Eun Woo who appeared alongside IU. Actually, it was rising actor Heo Nam Joon who took center stage, catching many fans off guard. For many fans, the biggest surprise was the casting. Despite IU's agency previously confirming Cha Eun Woo's participation in the music project, he was nowhere to be seen in the lead role of the title track MV. Instead, Heo Nam Joon, an actor born in 1993, the same year as IU, delivered a compelling and grounded performance. His portrayal introduced him to a broader audience. It adds to the growing attention he has received through roles in dramas like Sweet Home, The Impossible Heir, Your Honor, and When the Phone Rings. Cha Eun Woo's cameo reports According to new reports, Cha Eun Woo's appearance will be in the form of a cameo in another music video from the album. While his exact role remains under wraps, the news has sparked speculation that IU may release additional visuals for her other tracks. Given the storytelling quality of Never Ending Story, fans are hoping for more narrative-driven MVs as part of her album promotions. About IU's A Flower Bookmark IU's album A Flower Bookmark is a remake project filled with reimagined versions of iconic Korean tracks. Each song offers a nostalgic journey through Korean music history, carefully selected and updated through IU's unique voice and artistic sensibilities. The album includes six songs: Never Ending Story, October 4th, Last Scene (featuring Wonstein), Beauty (featuring Balming Tiger), Square Dream, and Red Sneakers. The music video for Never Ending Story tells a heartfelt tale set in a quaint, retro-inspired DVD and book rental store. Heo Nam Joon plays a reserved employee whose quiet interactions with IU's character blossom into a subtle, deeply emotional romance. The story is one of quiet connection and unfulfilled longing. It captures the essence of nostalgic love and missed timing. With soft cinematography and touching moments, the MV has received widespread praise. By fusing old-school charm with modern presentation, IU has created an album that bridges generations of music lovers. And with Cha Eun Woo's cameo still unrevealed, anticipation continues to grow for what's to come next in this nostalgic yet fresh musical chapter.

Realty company sued for allegedly locking homeowners into unfair, decades-long contracts
DENVER (KDVR) — Attorney General Phil Weiser filed a lawsuit in Adams County on Wednesday against a realty company that allegedly locked hundreds of homeowners into unfair contracts after harassing them into signing the contracts. Weiser's lawsuit alleged that the contracts included exorbitant fees and decades-long terms that even applied to the homeowners' heirs. The AG's office said in a release that the Florida-based realty company offered Colorado homeowners cash in exchange for using the company as their real estate agent when selling the home. 171 Colorado homeowners released from contracts, can now sell houses freely The AG's office said that between 2021 and 2023, the company 'aggressively targeted people in financial distress, with ads that promised quick cash and no credit checks,' framing the offer as one that had no requirement to be paid back. 'MV Realty preyed on people who were struggling financially — many of whom were older homeowners — looking for help staying in their homes,' Weiser said in a release 'Using deceptive ads, the company offered small payments to entice homeowners to sign contracts that had terms as long as 40 years, contained punishing fees for early termination, and even locked in their heirs. With this lawsuit, we are seeking to hold MV Realty accountable for their unconscionable behavior and get restitution for the homeowners who they deceived.' The company's tactics, as described by the AG's office, were high-pressure: If there was a lead, salespeople were told to call at least four times in the first 24 hours after they expressed interest, and 14 times within the first several days. The salespeople would send notaries to potential customers' homes to get the contracts signed. The AG's office said that many homeowners signed up without a clear explanation of the 40-year length, without a chance to read the contract in advance. The ad materials for the company promised homeowners could receive cash without the obligation to sell their homes. 'One homeowner reported that, after signing an agreement with MV in 2022 despite having no plans to sell in the near future, they were inundated with calls asking when they planned to sell. The calls lasted for weeks or months,' Weiser's release stated. Other issues also arose, according to the AG's office. Early termination fees would be assessed against homeowners in the event of divorce proceedings or other common financial transactions. The fees were extended to the homeowners' heirs in the event of their death, according to the AG's office. If customers did sell their homes, Weiser said they received 'terrible' service, including having trouble locating real estate agents, underpriced homes, pressure to take lowball offers and conflicts of interest. Colorado property assessments will be sent out soon: What homeowners should know 'Some homeowners were unable to reach anyone at MV at all, only to be penalized when they sold their homes through a different listing agent,' the AG's office alleged. 'Another homeowner found that MV's list of real estate agents included many who lacked Colorado licensure, or who were licensed but lacked experience.' Weiser's office said that the Colorado Real Estate Commission forced MV Realty to surrender its real estate license after it was found to have violated conflict-of-interest rules and other matters. Weiser's lawsuit seeks to release the homeowners from their agreements, obtain restitution and end the company's deceptive practices. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Florida Attorney General stops MV Realty from enforcing contacts, collecting money from homeowners
The Florida Attorney General has taken major legal action against a Delray Beach-based real estate company after an Action News Jax months-long investigation. It's a story we first brought you more than a year ago, exposing questionable -- even predatory -- business practices. Now the Attorney General has stopped MV Realty from enforcing its costly contracts and collecting any more money from homeowners. For years, the state AG said MV Realty has been deceiving homeowners into signing away home equity for a small amount of quick cash upfront. Based on this court ruling, that can't happen again. It's a major victory for the people we've spent months talking to who can now sell their homes free and clear. In November 2023, Action News Jax Investigates uncovered nearly 600 homeowners in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia who signed MV Realty contracts, more than 9,300 total homeowners in Florida. [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks] Florida-based MV Realty is active in 33 states. Its contracts also allowed them to place a lien on their clients' homes and most homeowners we talked to had no idea. Sheila Feliciano is one of them. 'It was a sweet, fast talk, you know?' she said. 'I want to be rid of the contract and rid of MV. Like it was like a bad nightmare I want to wake up from.' Over more than a year, we've been working alongside reporters from our sister stations in seven states -- all of us investigating MV Realty and its practices. Starting with Florida in November 2022, we've seen legal action in all seven of those states, plus five others, and legislation at both the state and federal levels. Yet again, Florida is leading the way. On Thursday, the State Attorney General announced an injunction against the company, prohibiting it from enforcing its liens through the so-called Homeowner Benefit Agreements. MV is also barred from collecting early termination fees or payments from homeowners After months of refusing an in-person interview, Action News Jax made the four-hour drive to MV Realty's Delray Beach home office. We wanted answers for the multiple customer complaints, but they wouldn't even answer the door. 'Five people peeked around the corner and then one guy walked in that back office back there,' Action News Jax Investigative Reporter Emily Turner said. 'Looks like he was calling or texting somebody.' [SIGN UP: Action News Jax Daily Headlines Newsletter] They called the cops rather than talk to us themselves. 'I don't know what to tell you,' the officer said. 'If you want to set up on the sidewalk, there is nothing they can say about that. And nothing I can do about that. Totally your right.' The officer is correct. We not only have a right to be there, but we also have an obligation to our viewers. MV Realty has never agreed to an interview and did not return our request for comment. Court documents show it has filed a motion to stop the injunction from going into place.
